I think the point everyone seems to be missing is...this communication had to come from one of the CSM's--

It SHOULD have come from CCP on these forums.

I know it takes time to draft, but I thought the meeting was about "opening communication lines". One would think a quick, "We are working ont he translations and CCP statements regarding the matter and will have the CSM results DevBlog to you ASAP."

This entire issue came about because of a lack of communication with the players.

Totally different aspect of the conversation...

LTRead

I know these things take time and couldn't care less...the lack of communication is an ongoing problem that I would of hoped they'd of "gotten" by now.

You mean couldn't care less.

Maybe CCP thought it best for the playerbase to hear progress reports from the CSM instead of themselves.

CSM should have published their statement already instead of facilitating CCP's stall tactics. It's what the 2 parties agreed to ahead of time. But this CSM sucks, so no real surprise there.

The CSM communication to the players wasn't the concern that started the entire fiasco....their own communication was.

Lies, it couldn't possibly be that after blundering initial communications with regards to this topic and tarring all CCP employees with an "untrustworthy" label in the eyes of the rabid forumites, they made the decision to have the news that there is a delay with statements relayed by one of the players.

CCP is just stalling long enough to round up enough security toughs to surround this forum , so they can beat the crap out of the protestors . Thats the way real corporations do it .

Let's wait until the end of Saturday before we rush off to shoot statues again in protest. For all we know, the agreement has been reached and they are just making sure both parties understand clearly what was agreed to.

Oh please.

Save any whining for after the announcement.

Give CCP a chance on doing this right.

Exactly...but a clear statement from CCP on this fact IS precisely what was needed to keep this bullcrap from starting again. Thus, my concern...aka, I don't think they "get it" yet.

We've waited long enough. Obvious stall tactics are obvious. It's just another indication by CCP that they don't give a ****.

And OP being butthurt about whether CCP or CSM announced something to him is kinda funny, but who cares? If he's dumb enough to think this problem was caused by 'miscommunication' then there's no helping him.

Agreed, but this thread isn't about that. It's about a lack of communication direct from CCP concerning the time to get it "perfect".

Communication was the precipitating issue...they shoudl of made a post here along the lines of what I stated above.

Your point about CCP making the announcement instead of a CSM person is a good one. For that to happen, there needs to be a culture change in the way CCP does PR for the future, but it will be a gradual change because it is so ingrained as part of their "corporate DNA". For that reason, this might explain why it was a CSM who made that announcement.

If the finalized agreement is announced by someone at CCP instead of CSM, however, that would be a sign of a positive change towards working with us players.

This isn't about hating. I've been firmly on the side of the anti-protest group out there.

It's about "doing it right" so I don't have to listen to 10 days of BS all over again next time.

The first step to that is having better communication from them. I want a perfect statement and know that takes some time.

BUT, I want to be assured that it's being worked on by someone such as Fallout who gets paid to communicate with the playerbase, not a CSM who is ultimately at the mercy of imposed NDA statements and policy of CCP. They should of simply posted a quick..summit over...working on the details as I've stated above.

Your question (the yellow one) has already been answered. What are you waiting for?

The only thing that takes time is the pile of crap they want to feed you as to why it's a "yes" answer.

CCP never said no although it would have been too easy to do so and end this. So again...what are you guys waiting for??

They called in a meeting to figure out..together with the csm..how they will continue to bs us (and how "awesome" it will be).Period.

Maybe if it comes from the csm we will bite.Rolling Eyes

Communication and clarification of small things on the forums of course.

Conversations and debates should be held with the CSM - they are the only group of players with democratic legitimacy.

When something blows up in the relationship with the community, the right thing to do is to pull back from the forums, consult the CSM and do an analysis of what went wrong.

That doesn't mean I'm going to like the outcome, but I think it's the best way to handle it.

CSM are player voted representatives of the community, so I have no problem with them relaying the info. If you didnt vote, STFU. If you did, why do you have a problem with them doing their job - keeping the player base in the loop?

I wish you would of made this post hours ago, when the meeting was over though. The protesters and "tin-foil" hat people have already worked themselves into a frenzy over this, so I fear, yet again, it may be too late to keep the forum BS down...or save the Jita stautue :P
