In order for something to be pay to win, it must be a line, with a start and an end. PLEX is instead like a circle, with both non-payers and payers receiving benefits. I sell a plex, I get ISK. I buy a plex, I get free game time. It allows you to "win" if you decide to play for free or not. However, if you are given the opportunity to pay for faction standings, for example, or god forbid SP, it gives you an unfair advantage that simply cannot be matched by playing the game with simply a normal subscription. Thus, it is a closed loop that gives power to the richer. And besides, PLEX prices are driven by the players, like they should be, and the new currency is not.

While you are going to get either trolled to death or left alone you are more or less correct on your opinion of why PLEX in of itself is not P2W.

What these "macro" transactions are really facilitating is the absorbtion of PLEX piles in addition to keepin the price of PLEX extremely high. Nonetheless, both the players and CCP ARE benefitting from this in that CCP sells more gametime and players get more iskies.

In addition, it is worth pointing out that until the NEX shop opened up, 'a lot' of players had enough isk that there wasn't really anything to shop for anymore. Many players have their accounts paid for the next few years in PLEX and either had to do vanity shopping for ships or open new accounts for ****s and giggles.

Anyway +1

No amount of trolling can change the fact that I am right. I get to play for free because other people PAY FOR ME. Who wins, the person paying for ISK or me?

Explain me, If I buy 5000 dollars worth of plex

I convert those to ISK, around 105b ISK, I buy 2 account, a mothership and a Titan.

How have I just not payed to Win ??

You know how long non-payer have to work for that amount of ISK ?

And what is the difference between a circle and a closed loop ???

it's called effort.

the effort of the countless players making the isk in the game(through missions, building, pvp, etc) to buy your PLEX and the titan and the char you bought that took time to train etc.

P2W is shortcut past the players to get all the same things. this means, why bother playing anymore?

The difference is that, when you buy ISK with Plex, some other player had to generate that isk to begin with. It didn't appear out of no where.

Assume a micro-scale model of Eve that includes a total of 10 billion ISK. You buy a 30-day GTC and convert it to plex. The economy now contains 10 billion ISK AND one redeemable coupon for 30 days of play time.

You sell the PLEX to someone else for 400 million isk.

The economy STILL contains 10 billion ISK and one redeemable coupon for 30 days of play time.

The player consumes the Plex. The economy now contains 10 billion ISK. This makes plex->isk transactions zero-sum.

This isn't the case with AUR transactions, however, as they generate new stuff out of nothing in exchange for the plex.
