I made a petition a few days ago when I saw how ugly my character looked in incarna (wis).
For now, thats not a problem as we can barely walk in one room (bwior).
However I felt I should petition to resculpt as I havent done so yet, guess what the answer was.

"we will not be able to offer new resculpting options from now on and characters are considered permanent"

Are they bloody trolling?

my alt looks dead sexy in character creater and like a fat gorilla in incarna.. there's some sort of disconnect here.

It's because when you make your portrait, it's high detail, and you sculpt every little thing. A slight smirk, raised eyebrow, tilt head, zoom in, adjust lighting.. etc.

In real-time, it has none of those changes.

So really, it's like people who make the "duck face" when they get their picture taken, or they only take pictures with one side of their face, etc. Then when they look in the mirror, or go on a blind date...... Cool

actually, its too directional lighting that distorts the view. especially disturbing, since mirrors have them too, so you even look fugly there. Could be solved by changing lighting in surroundings to create lesser contrast, since it looks surreal anyway for most characters.

I am a little bit disappointed too, that resculpting is not an option, especially since many ppl might wanted to change their char after seeing them "in action".

Why is it that in only MMORPGs there are features that games developers will NEVER allow or put in which are considered perfectly normal in Singleplayer and normal multiplayer games?

$5 for full re-customisation anyone?

No, they mean the character creator, not the picture. The lights in the captains quarters have the effect if holding a flashlight under your face. Leading to ridiculous looks.

No you can change clothes and pose differently in the mirror, but you cannot change any sculpted features (make your nose longer, let's say).

Actually, a resculpt feature would be useless without a CQ preview available. For new players, this is not a problem. Any time I start a new game I create the avatar then log in. I check to see if it is what I like, and delete the character and start over if necessary.

Because this is coming mid-stream for existing players, this is not an option. But no matter if they allow a resculpt, we need to see how it looks in game before finalizing it. It is that way with every game.

I kinda agree. I havent had WiS on that much. But for the brief moments it was on, my AVATAR looked Horrendous. Anna is a Beautiful Space pilot. She prides herself on having taken care of her Skin. She had Estrogen injections at a very young age and subsequently came out Beautiful. Like, Definitively Beautiful and awe inspiring.

But her EVE WiS representation is wanting. I think its a Serpentis agenda. They somehow Sabotaged the Visual acuity in Stations to somehow Demean and Demoralize EVE's more Beautiful Populace.

Looks *are* important where Anna is from. Instead of buying $1000 Jeans, we are instead just Born Beautiful. I dont want to be forced to buy $1000 Jeans. I want my innate Beauty to be evident.

I wouldn't put too much weight on this. I'm sure that they'll improve on the incarna in game character rendering at some point in time*.

That explains why all my characters got hanging bags of skin, like old bloodhounds. I set their age quite high, but neither look ancient on the creater with max settings. In CQ tho.. they look like they were centuries old. Yoda.

I'm sure it's high on the list of "non-game breaking AUR shop options"

are you sure about that? A friend thought their flag for recreating character was gone, since they didn't see it when logging in, but it turned out that if they went to the mirror thing in the captains quarters, it said "x is flagged for" there instead.

They had that service, I think it was $10, that allowed you to swap portraits.

I bet something new is in the works, that is so easy money.

I'll bet what the GM really meant was "not for FREE buddy" Wink

This. If yu click the mirror and you still have your recust left, it will ask you whether you want to resculpt.
However before you do that, make sure It isn't just the lighting.
My character looks very strange in some places, but gorgeous when you face towards your ship on the balcony or towards the screens in front of your sofa.

I was always under the impression the mirror was so we could play dress up.

And "in future expansion", i.e. 18months+ from now. Unless they see an opportunity for quick cash, then Hilmar will step in and say MAKE IT SO and we'll have it in a couple of days.
