Personally, I think the degree of emo rage on these forums is bordering on mass hysteria and if I could be bothered I would come around to all your parents' houses and slap you around the face and tell you to pull yourselves together. I've been through this in another MMO and maybe I'm jaded about the whole online world but I find that a year on there is really no change overall. The game in question still plays broadly as before. Yes, there are the occasional kids wandering around with uber stuffz but they are usually very transitory and end up leaving the game after trying (and failing) to uber it up over experienced players.

There have always been ways to twink up your account in EVE, some legit ~ PLEX, and others not ~ buying ISK. Either way you could acquire currency out of proportion to your game time played. I know others will argue there is a difference between these forms of artificial augmentation and the current outcry over non-vanity rmt but in all honesty it amounts to the same.

Before you vent your collective spleens at me however, be aware that I am against all forms of rmt in MMOs. Unfortunately it is the games companies current great idea for making money and we just have to bear with it. Personally, I would prefer if they came out and reminded us there is a recession out there, that subs haven't risen in pace with inflation since release and they were going to increase the subscription level applicable to all players. How that would go down with the rank and file I don't know, but I'm guessing there would be an equal amount of rage on these forums.

Times move on, business models evolve and some of you have to learn to adapt. If that means quitting then so be it. Others will eventually settle down and get on with the new "ruleset". My one complaint over this whole mess is that CCP appears to have gone back on an unequivocal promise they made not that long ago. CCP used to be a paragon of sorts that you could hold up next to SOE or Blizzard and say "look, they're better than you money grabbing companies". As it turn out they may not be that different, but then what would you prefer? That they maintained their corinthian principles as the company ran out of cash and quietly folded, or that they sought to look at alternatives whereby those that were prepared to pay more did so while refraining from increasing subs generally?

This whole business is a sorry mess but beleive me, the game will still be running in a years time and the vast majority of current subscribers will still be there too not noticing a huge difference in the game universe.

CCP still too busy with WoD and DUST to expect any serious updates till 2014th besides stupid crap in NeX shop.

"You've been heard" is not enough to re-subscribe my 3 accounts and continue to sponsor DUST and WoD development with my money.

Let them eat monocles!

Might be better to re-sub after the meeting rather than before. Y'know, so you know what it's gonna end with (in other words, no one expects you to re-sub just yet).

The CSM is the best vehicle for the players to help CCP see the mistakes they made and change their strategy back to EVE and away from mistakes/bugs/half done expansions/betas for WoD/hooks for DUST/crappy business models/lousy communication.

No.

Professional worksmanship is what makes you see mistakes and adust your strategy. It's also what makes you produce quality stuff. The notion that CCP wouldn't even be able to see the outrageous mistakes they made with past and in particular this recent expansion without the help of a bunch of fans is ridiculously stupid.

If you're gonna quit- then just friggin quit already.

Me? I think most people that are stomping around about this are naive. It's a business- sorry- but it is. You can attach all your little fantasies of universal domination and escapism on this game and feel justified in your self righteous indignation- how you were wronged and violated by those lying evil bastards. At the end of the day- it is a company that is trying to survive and grow in a heavily competitive market.

We have this ragefest before and after every patch that I have seen- "Eve is gonna die"- "Eve was much more noble and honorable before ...." I personally liked it when CCP said little or nothing on the forums- now that we have this "more contact with the community" thing- we have a community of loud and ****ed off babies- who demand that thier every comment be addressed. I like Eve when I joined because it seemed like a more intelligent player base- who figure things out rather than demand that every expansion be pre released for the scrutiny of a minority of obnoxious malcontents.

Good riddance to you quitters.

Dear San Severina, thanks for opening my eyes. Yesterday I would have supported the CSM, but since they are "agreeing" to MT I can no longer do so.

Signed, just another Chum
