I don't know how you managed it CCP, but somehow you pulled off what has to be the most audacious programming feat in 3D development in the industry.

You made a closet sized 3D space that runs 1000x hotter and slower than a five year old 3D game which display far, far more complexity in way, way more space, and look twice as good as your CQ.

Bravo CCP! Bravo! *stands in awe* Ignore the whingers and trolls. You can stand tall today and be proud of your accomplishment.

Runs okay on my PC, with two clients, but i think things are going to be diffrent when we go into the station, larger enviroment and displaying 50-100 players on screen at once.

I think that is the stage i am going to need new hardware Sad

How would I still be in Eve or even know CQ runs badly for me, if I couldn't even launch Eve? Remember to engage brain before posting. *goes back to cooking pancakes on top of my burning hot PC*

It is certainly an impressive achievement. Nothing comes close to exercising my brand new graphics card as much as 2 windowed instances of CQ. Shame I only get about 10 fps on each, but hey, I am learning to love the "The Door".

:: CoreI7 920, 6Gb 1600Mhz RAM, ATI 6950, 2xOCZ 60Gb SSD.

No dust in GPU (2 days old) 1000W PSU, not living in a volcano, have interval 1 set, Do not have cooties (much)...

Edit: the Armchair experts, CCP alts an fanbois were faster than me :)

Edit 2: try changing graphics setting in CQ, if you are lucky, you get a disembodied wig walking around :)

Seriously CCP, buy a couple of your devs books from this new series and you will instantly be ahead of the curve in CG. For god sakes, you have a PC game. It should be whooping ass! Not catering to DX9 cards and console limitations (if the CQ is the direction you are going to take).

For example, the second book has a new technique called Practical Morphological AntiAliasing that is an order of magnitude more efficient than the gold standard of MSAA at the moment without hurting quality. It's simple too! Edge vectorization and a little bit of gaussian post-processing and BAM no more jaggies!

Edit: But for the smug ones, we don't speak English any more. We officially speak American now, which is a poor name for it, but less confusing than it used to be.

It's OK, just ignorant Americans thinking their application of the English language is the only correct one.

I've played older games that run better and look better than this CQ expansion, and are actually still more exciting.

Well, whatever the issue is, it seems like a tough one to diagnose. So many of you with issues, yet a fair few have no issues at all.
Im running:
-Phenom II x6 1090T (default clock), MSI 890FXA, 8GB DDR3-1333, 40GB Intel SSD, 1TB WD SATA 6GB/s, Radeon HD6870. I can run 2 clients, maxed everything, and set interval immediate @ 1920x1080. both clients run between 35 and 55 FPS, depending on what im looking at inside CQ, all the while CPU peaks at 42C. Havent checked GPU temps, but fan speeds suggest nothing abnormal.
Hope they get it resolved for you all though.

In all seriously, I still can't believe the REBUILT this engine ...

it would have been fine for Incarna ... but they couldn't justify the money I guess, so they got a team and spent tons for WoD

It's a shot in the dark but the most obvious difference in the Carbon Engine would be the need for kinematics and a skeletal system. If I were CCP, I'd probably be looking at the relevant shaders.
