haha this is so cruel to those game developers. Their server max population is 25 people anyway so...

Not really. That game reminds me of something still in Alpha stage. Graphics = / = good game, but that combined with the UI, it borders on being unplayable.

"First of all we'd like to welcome the influx of new players to Perpetuum. The sheer number of new players caught us by surprise, and we're working around the clock to accommodate each and every one of you."

Customer service. CCP should learn a ****ing thing.

not true.

You can only resist Perpetuum for so long before you try it and realise it is better.

It's not bad, but it seems like it rips off EVE a little too much. I don't like the non-instanced missions either (fighting over the same rats to complete your mission.) I DO like the idea of getting in on a game on the ground floor. I give it a lukewarm recommendation. It's worth a try.

It's been eight years though, I guess I just expect more out of a game. If they add PTW items, I'll join the exodus. Though only until TOR.

I Loled with this quote from Perpetum Forums:

"I would prefer some people to take this time and realize that Perpetuum is not EVE Online™'s vacation resort. I have seen people on Jita back in EVE saying to register, and login in here en masse as another futile "protest"."

Very Happy

I really liked the fact that they had a GM or Dev Welcome every new player and are visable in every channel.

I hope people aren't joining to protest, Perpetuum has a really cool game going, with a lot of potential. And some really cool Devs as well, they dont' deserve that.

As said by some peeps in perpetuum's forum:

It's amazing how childish, irresponsible and whimsical some people are. In my humble opinion, EVE is better without those kind of angry kids and I hope they wouldn't come back to EVE or to any game community I'd ever join. The sad think is that most of them will come back with their tail between their legs.

actually, the influx of new players has highlighted a bug in their server side relay code, and are working to fix it. they've been restricting logins and player counts to keep things stable for those who are in the game.

i dl'ed it to check it out, kinda like EVE-lite with robots. hasn't been out long so it's a bit buggy and the player base is tiny, but not too bad.

one thing i noticed, has automatic crash reporting.

Yeah, I was really touched. I had a GM message me in-game asking if I had any issues and if I needed assistance. I love their community too. No reason why I can't play both.

500 players is less then 0.1% of the total eve players.

500 players is less then 15% of the average online players.

I retract my prior statements about MT.

Yup Im giving the 14 day trial a go. Probably play both, but if CCP keep the iron curtian up may have to give eve a break until things get sorted

Probably a long time, if you expect a "ohnoes" response. Among all the topics in all the forums, why on earth should they respond to this? That ome people discover a new game and play Perpetuum in addition to EVE, as well as a ridiculously minuscule minority leaving EVE for Perpetuum, is hardly something CCP need worry about.

This is so f**king funny.

Why?

Because perpetuum is planning on introducing an ingame cash shop, which allows you to customise your avatar/robot.

within 5 minutes I was welcomed by a GM and told if I had any questions to let him know, he also kept a private chat open with me. The game looks interesting, but it was hard to figure out the scope of it, and if there were 0.0 esq regions, there seems to be a huge eve component rip off, however they managed to make mining LESS interactive than eve :(

honestly even if 5% of the eve refugees stay, that's a win for them.

Think of it as being appreciative. It's better than what we get around here sometimes ;P

ignore the trolls, lamers are always lame, whatever game they play ;)

Perpetuum update - hotfix will be deployed in approx 12 hours, hopefully this will fix the server cap.

if what they said is true and the server is ticking at about 5% with 500 players, then the estimated cap is around 10k players.

give them 12 hours, and try again.

FYI the new perpetuum corp NEX (lol) is now the biggest corp in perpetuum. Wonder how long it hold together before it falls apart into minor fragments?

See you on beta island YARRRR!!

If you guys put in the same effort on your studies as you do with MMOs, you would all have Doctorate degrees by the time you were 16
