Just start walking and save the cash, you'll probably have better adventures.

I'd hit up an island in the Caribbean, always wanted to.

Will your hotel room just be a static picture of a door?

You could always go to tokyo and see the nice $1000 pants. but then you might not be able to fly home.

On a serious note, sorry to say it, stay away from Canada and the US. We're having the worse summer in years. It might get better by august but i'm not betting on it and neither should you.

I've heard Egypt is a real bargain and that's a trip of a lifetime kinda event.

Aye, Egypt is desperate for tourists right now, or so I heard on the BBC anyway.

Might I suggest Montreal, Quebec? It's lovely this time of the year.

I hear Out of Pod Experience is nice this time of year, this thread would love it there.

edit: For content, if I had the cash I would be going to Egypt while the prices are nice and low.

If you like backpacking and adventure, and have quite a lot of time, why don't you go hitchhiking? Hitch your way to Maroc, use only the small roads and sleep in the wild with a hammock and a tarp (OMG ITS A TARP!). I can tell you from my own experience that this is the way to find adventure.
