What is your perspective on the protests current happening in New Eden. What do you know about them and what are your feelings?

The protests are pretty unprecedented in online gaming, and the fact that they are running at all is a testament to EvE's sandbox nature. These protest demonstrate that people care about EvE. Some of the more vocal players who have protested, or have quit, have been playing since beta and feel very strongly about the perceived direction CCP is heading with the lolMT stuff. Although I do not wish to speak for the rest of the protesters, i am pretty sure that 99% of us are not protesting about the price of the monocles/shirts/whatever.

Everything i have read in chats etc is along the lines of "If you are rich and dumb enough to fork out $60 for a bunch of pixels, then that's your lookout". Seriously, very few people care about the price of goods in the AUR store; new and cheaper stuff will be added and that side of the economy will begin to balance out.

However, the discussions from leaked documents regarding in-game advantage (i.e. gamebreaking) items is what has enraged people the most. Power items were a declared line in the sand from the playerbase (as presented to CCP by the CSM) that they were not prepared to cross. The fact that CCP are even theorycrafting about power items in EvE is tantamount to them giving us a big F**k you regarding our concerns. Hence the sustained forum and ingame rage.

Frankly, if Zulu had made a definitive statement along the lines of "There will never be any power items traded on the NeX exchange", then i would guess a lot of what you are seeing now would not be happening with the widespread level of freocity we are currently witnessing. Certainly I personally would have been reassured somewhat by such a statement. However, comments about $1000 pants are most certainly not helpful.

How has your experience with the Incarna expansion been so far?

There are things i love about the new expansion: The turret models are really sweet, there are a bunch of subtle but noticeable in-space graphical improvements -and the maller looks pretty badass imo.

Although my PC can run CQ across two accounts, it still doesn't make happy noises about it. The movement in the room still needs some work and some things are not as intuitive as they ought to be, but i do like the graphical content and am looking forward to moving outside of solitary when ccp unlock the door. Wink

However, the removal of the ship-spinning hangar view and a bunch of functionality related to that was a really dumb move tbh. There is ample room on the neocom for an "Exit Ship" icon. How hard can that be?

Have you read the two leaked documents? The "Fearless - Greed is Good" newsletter and proportedly internal email? Do you have any thoughts on their content?

Yes, i have read both documents and the frankly lame devblogs. I find the content of the documents disturbing in many ways:

1. As mentioned previously, EvE's senior dev theorycrafting about mt content that he is fully aware is a red-line for most of the players. Irrespective of whether this was designed to foster healthy debate within the company from an 'extreme' point of view or not, the fact remains that the players said 'no', therefore mt of power items ought to have not been a matter for debate in the first instance. There are plenty of other things to position yourself as an 'MT Extremist' on without covering stuff that you know would cause uproar were it to be leaked to the wider community. The fact that this is a 'coffe table' mag that can be read in CCP HQ's reception just makes the WTF?!? factor even more acute.

2. The apparent lack of any concern regarding the community's concerns over this issue is a truly eyewateringly painful thing to behold. $1000 pants? What on earth was he thinking?!?

ctd...

[cont. Hate that damn timer]

3. The email does read like a 'if they hate it they will leave, let's see if they do' battleplan to sell mt to the masses. Definitely not friggin' cool!

Do you trust CCP and the direction that they'll be taking EVE in over the next few years?

I'll reserve judgement on that until they make a further announcement (or not) regarding this issue.

E2A: Awaiting result of emergency CSM meeting to decide on whether i trust ccp or not...

Do you see yourself using the Noble Exchange in the future? What sort of things would you buy? What sort of things do you think should be available from the store?

Lol, no way and i wouldn't buy anything the way things are priced at the moment. Things that i would like to see available from the store would be Vanity items only: clothes, monocles, goggles, shiny paintjobs for your ship and other 'cool' visual stuff. But definitely no power-ups. No way. Ever.

How long have you been playing Eve?

My main has been here since January 2006

What is your favourite part of Eve? Are you a PVP Pilot? Into Industry or Mining? Or perhaps a mission runner

I have done all of it and love it all in equal measure. My main is a pvp toon, this toon is an indy/PI/PvP char and my other alt is a mission runner/indy/exploration/PI char.

What area of Eve do you operate in. High Sec? Low Sec? Null Sec?

I have operated in all areas but right now: High and Null across all three accounts.

What is your perspective on the protests current happening in New Eden. What do you know about them and what are your feelings?
The main issue is players who care about the game and who also understand human nature are very concerned that game-changing non-vanity items will become available via micro-transactions. Maybe we should call them mega-transactions.

How has your experience with the Incarna expansion been so far?
I looked it over, first time I logged in, then thought "OK, seen that, I'll turn it off now because there's not much to it at this particular time." CQ runs ok for me, considering I have an old PC which is 5 years old at the very least. OK, it's a bit buggy for some, but that'll get sorted out, just like in any other game. I don't want to use it every time I want to dock though, so continue to make it optional. Walking the actual stations should be quite interesting, though I don't think RPG features much, if at all, in this game. It might build a closer community though - who knows. Smile

Have you read the two leaked documents? The "Fearless - Greed is Good" newsletter and proportedly internal email? Do you have any thoughts on their content?
Yes, though I'm not lending much weight to the email until it's declared genuine. While I understand the internal newsletter was in reality simply kicking ideas around, it shows some people at CCP do a financial return in selling ships and ammo. Yes, the currency for this is Aurum, but someone, somewhere paid cash for the Plex that was converted to Aurum. Whether they will sell non-vanity items or not was never conclusively stated. The recent 'Blog Of Many Answers' somehow didn't get around to saying "No" though, in spite of the fact CCP KNEW this was the most-asked question in the Parlay Thread. That simple answer, right there for all to see in 'The Blog Of Many Answers' - all on its own and without that lamentable gush of meaningless corporate waffle-speak - would have significantly quieted the forums and halted the in-game protests almost immediately. They somehow bent over backwards not to give that simple, unequivocal answer, though. I find that very, very significant.

Do you trust CCP and the direction that they'll be taking EVE in over the next few years?
Not until I see an unequivocal statement that reads "We will never ever sell game-changing, non-vanity items via MT". Until then they're just dodging the issue and giving themselves a back door to sneak through.

Do you see yourself using the Noble Exchange in the future? What sort of things would you buy? What sort of things do you think should be available from the store?
No. The vanity items currently available are meaningless to me. Absolute, laughable junk. If players want to buy it, best of luck to them and I hope they can take the ensuing ridicule.

How long have you been playing Eve?
Off and on, five and a half years over three accounts. I only sub to one now.

What is your favourite part of Eve? Are you a PVP Pilot? Into Industry or Mining? Or perhaps a mission runner
Mission runner, mainly as I don't have lots of time to do long-term things such as Industry. I have a Miner/Industrialist but that alt doesn't get used much. I may as well retire it altogether if ships and ammo start appearing out of thin air.

What area of Eve do you operate in. High Sec? Low Sec? Null Sec?
Pretty much 50/50 Low Sec and High Sec. I never really bothered with PI before, so I'm currently having a look at that, trying a few different planets in different sectors.

What is your perspective on the protests current happening in New Eden. What do you know about them and what are your feelings?
The protests show that the more vocal part of the playerbase (Also the really dedicated part), is and has been discontent with CCP. Time and time again we ask CCP for transparency/openness and still there is a severe lack in this, well that's how it feels for us.

I can understand change is difficult, but perhaps it's time for CCP to be revolutionary in other aspects than game mechanics.

How has your experience with the Incarna expansion been so far?
The Captain's Quarters were fun to see for 5 minutes, and well after that I just turned it off. The controls feel rough and glitchy (It just doesn't feel right), walking is too slow, but those just need to be ironed out.

It has also been quite underwhelming with how CCP has been presenting Incarna, walking in stations, player interaction, etc. And we get this single-player environment in which we can walk around a bit.

This boils down to expectation management, don't overhype your customers, just hype them enough for the new content not to be a major disappointment when it hits due to overhyping.

Have you read the two leaked documents? The "Fearless - Greed is Good" newsletter and proportedly internal email? Do you have any thoughts on their content?
Fearless: This was an internal bulletin tackling a sensitive subject by displaying 2 extreme over-exaggerated viewpoints. Yet it made it apparent that they are indeed thinking about pay2win.

Internal Email: I find this worrying the way it is worded for me as a player sounds like, good job guys everyone is complaining but I think it's awesome. Though the most disturbing I found was the "Don't listen, let their actions speak" this basically says I'm not gonna listen to you, if you disagree goodbye.

Do you trust CCP and the direction that they'll be taking EVE in over the next few years?
I did have trust in CCP though unfortunately with the recent events this trust has faded. All I now have left is hope, hope that they put in effort to regain this trust. And the direction they'll be taking. The things I've read make it seem like pay2win is definitely going to happen sooner or later, so no I don't.

Do you see yourself using the Noble Exchange in the future? What sort of things would you buy? What sort of things do you think should be available from the store?
I don't think I would use it not as it is currently, even with cheap items I'm not going to a lot of ISK for them. And I'm not planning on spending real money on this either.

How long have you been playing Eve?
almost 2 years now

What is your favourite part of Eve? Are you a PVP Pilot? Into Industry or Mining? Or perhaps a mission runner

What area of Eve do you operate in. High Sec? Low Sec? Null Sec?

What is your perspective on the protests current happening in New Eden. What do you know about them and what are your feelings?

I'm glad people are protesting.

As far as I can see basically what has happened is that CCP told us they weren't interested in MT stuff a year or two back then all of a sudden they want it and integrate it into incarna. And not only that but there is evidence in the leaked documents and in combination with official releases which would appear to indicate they are willing to provide items that circumvent the player built economy and add actual in-game benefit rather than cosmetic only.

Incarna itself is mostly useless. There were a lot of sorely needed balance changes left out. Changes that were made were poorly documented (Scanning) and of course it created issues with Implants and drones and all sorts of bonuses not being applied to things like missiles. This combined with the clear direction to push people into the Aurum store means that there is actually no real content in what has been the most eagerly awaited expansion in the games history.

So I would say the poor overall expansion (as well as the previous 2) and the new MT direction CCP seem to be pushing as well as ignoring the CSM and playerbase are responsible for the current protests.

How has your experience with the Incarna expansion been so far?

There is nothing that Incarna has added that I use, literally. It has been, for me, a complete gimmick which was disabled after 30 minutes. Combined with the possible direction of the Aurum store and CCP's obvious lack of respect for the players I would have to say it has been quite a terrible 'expansion'.

Have you read the two leaked documents? The "Fearless - Greed is Good" newsletter and proportedly internal email? Do you have any thoughts on their content?

Yes I have. The Fearless bulletin shows clearly that at least a portion of CCP would be happy charging real money for items which circumvent the player built and driven economy and provide a direct bonus over those who do not pay real money. This is in direct contrast to their previous statements not only with RMT but also with what would be on offer in such stores if they were to be created.

The leaked email shows just how out of touch Hilmar is with his player base and how little respect he has for us. He has repeatedly ignored the CSM's advice and has all but told us himself in person that he couldn't care less.

Do you trust CCP and the direction that they'll be taking EVE in over the next few years?

I have no doubt there are those within CCP who I would trust 100% but the people calling the shots seem to be in direct disagreement with that. Let's just say that their complete inability to handle recent events has driven me to cancel all 3 of my accounts.

Do you see yourself using the Noble Exchange in the future? What sort of things would you buy? What sort of things do you think should be available from the store?

I would perhaps buy things from the noble exchange if they were for PLEX and only if they did not circumvent the player driven economy. As it stands just now, I would never consider it.

What is your perspective on the protests current happening in New Eden. What do you know about them and what are your feelings?

I'm part of them and I'll stay part until they end or my sub runs out. They were caused by these leaked documents showing CCP has lied to us about introduction Pay to Win items in Eve and their upcoming games as well as the arrogant attitude shown in the blog and email. The overpriced vanity items and poor CQ performance are the least worrying things. I refuse to respect a company that will not show it's customers respect.

How has your experience with the Incarna expansion been so far?

A 45 FPS drop in these lovely stations. The removal of several convenience features in said stations from the previous hanger. And... what else was added this expansion? Oh, I guess the new turrets are pretty.

Have you read the two leaked documents? The "Fearless - Greed is Good" newsletter and proportedly internal email? Do you have any thoughts on their content?

Yes, I've read them both. That, during a worldwide recession cause by corporate greed, there is a newsletter discussing how to milk as much money as possible from the current playerbase and their future titles is disgusting. There is nothing in this strategy that is aimed at actually bringing in new players, just gouging us. And then an email from one of the heads celebrating monocle sales while saying to ignore paying customer complaints? BS.

Do you trust CCP and the direction that they'll be taking EVE in over the next few years?

No, not with EVE, not with Dust or WoD. Not until they come out and clearly state that there will be no MT's that give players advantages over others. Even then I'm not sure I'll believe them.

Do you see yourself using the Noble Exchange in the future? What sort of things would you buy? What sort of things do you think should be available from the store?

Not at these prices. I was hoping for some kind of dress for my alt but that's it.

What is your perspective on the protests current happening in New Eden. What do you know about them and what are your feelings?

I am taking part in the Jita protest by shooting the monument there, flying a ship with a protest name and helping organise further protest against CCP's indifference to player's feelings.

How has your experience with the Incarna expansion been so far?

Terrible. The auto-patch was broken and I had to download the complete install again, Eve Repair downgraded Incarna to Incursion, then broke and "failed" on every other run, I was finally forced to dump my precious settings to get Eve installed, updated and working right. However so-called optional patches kept failing to install as well.

CQ is slow, pointless, has crap controls and camera, and looks bad. I know five year old 3D games that run 100 times as fast and cool, and look twice as good.

The new turret icons are muddy indistinguishable blobs - epic UI design/QA fail.

Pre-existing bugs and half-baked features remain unaddressed, e.g. Eve has been crashing for me when I jump while tabbed out since Incursion 1.4. CCP stated it was a known bug, yet one expansion and several minor patches later, and still no solution.

The MT store, leaked CCP documents, and indifferent and outright arrogant dev blogs lead to one inescapable conclusion - CCP plans to introduce non-vanity MT items, players and the sandbox it be damned.

Have you read the two leaked documents? The "Fearless - Greed is Good" newsletter and purportedly internal email? Do you have any thoughts on their content?

That CCP doesn't care what we say, or feel. They've stated that outright in the leaked email. The only protest they understand is action - which is why I'm protesting and have canceled my subscription.

Do you trust CCP and the direction that they'll be taking EVE in over the next few years?

Not one bit - they're a company gone off the rails as evidenced by these CCP employee reviews and the leaked material. All they care about is a grab for money. It's clear they'll destroy everything that makes Eve great to accomplish this.

Do you see yourself using the Noble Exchange in the future? What sort of things would you buy? What sort of things do you think should be available from the store?

Had it been some fun and cheap 100% vanity items for my ship - like paintjobs - or the viewable part of my character in portraits - like a Doctor Who style bow tie - I might have bought a couple. But I will never spend $65 on a bloody monocole. Nor would I ever support a MT store after the leaks and all it now portends.

How long have you been playing Eve?

A couple years. Longer if you count time away (it took me a while to finally get into Eve for good).

What is your favourite part of Eve? Are you a PVP Pilot? Into Industry or Mining? Or perhaps a mission runner

Primarily this guy is mission running, industry and research, but no PvP ever makes me sad. Got to have balance. I only wish lowsec wasn't so barren.

What area of Eve do you operate in. High Sec? Low Sec? Null Sec?

High and low.

What is your perspective on the protests current happening in New Eden. What do you know about them and what are your feelings?
-I support the protesters in that they are pleading for CCP's upper-management to wake up, fire their "high-paid" advisors, fix the game, and ban MT-for-game-effect for all time.

How has your experience with the Incarna expansion been so far?
Terrible. CQ is pointless. Graphics either look like ass in order to run at a paltry 10 fps or are buggy at about 2 fps. With all the smooth running FPS games out there, I'm amazed they could **** this up.

Have you read the two leaked documents? The "Fearless - Greed is Good" newsletter and proportedly internal email? Do you have any thoughts on their content?
-Yes. They have all the halmarks of an upper management whose ego is too invested in the proposition that they are right. The fact that they spend serious $ on high-profile industry advisers is a bad sign in itself. Imagine I am a CEO: If I blow a huge wad of cash on "advisers", am I going to be more or less likely to admit that their advice was **** to begin with?

Do you trust CCP and the direction that they'll be taking EVE in over the next few years?
Not with Hilmar at the helm. The buck stops at the top, and it's clear the upper management have no idea what their customers want. That's a recipe for bankruptcy within 2-4 years.

Do you see yourself using the Noble Exchange in the future? What sort of things would you buy? What sort of things do you think should be available from the store?
-Not particularly likely to use it, and certainly not at the scorn-worthy prices they set it at initially. Seriously, folks, start out slow and increase prices with demand; don't insult your loyal fanbase right out of the gate.

How long have you been playing Eve?
Since February 2007.

I have done it all in my time, but I find the PvP aspects of Eve more interesting these days than the PvE aspects.

What is your perspective on the protests current happening in New Eden. What do you know about them and what are your feelings?

Its great! People are really standing up to express their feelings. I know a lot of people are being inconvenienced by the protests but at the same time CCP is attempting to do something that a lot of the player base does NOT want done.
I have been paying very close attention to recent events on the forums and in game. I am glad that so many people feel driven to do something. But personally I think that this rioting is not the correct way to protest. Prove to CCP that this is not just going to go away by unsubscribing and not logging in while your account expires.

How has your experience with the Incarna expansion been so far?

It's pretty damn bad. It basically has no content for a player like me who is not in the least interested in vanity items and very inconvenient to my daily life in EVE. Whats worse is CCP's reaction to the legitimate questions being asked over and over on the forums. The distrust I now feel towards CCP is the worst part of this expansion. Not to mention that my computer can barely run the CQ's. Thanks, CCP.

Have you read the two leaked documents? The "Fearless - Greed is Good" newsletter and proportedly internal email? Do you have any thoughts on their content?

Yes I have read both. I was actually listening to EVE radio when the email broke. Hearing CSM and former CSM members flabbergasted about this is very emotionally powerful. Frankly, the newsletter and email nearly destroyed all the trust I had for CCP. CCP's lack of a response to the community’s question about micro transactions destroyed the rest.

Do you trust CCP and the direction that they'll be taking EVE in over the next few years?

Not any more.

Do you see yourself using the Noble Exchange in the future? What sort of things would you buy? What sort of things do you think should be available from the store?

If I were still playing EVE in the future then no I would not. Not only are the prices insane but the time spent developing those items detracts from the developer time that the real game needs.

How long have you been playing Eve?

I have played on and off since 2006.

[b]What is your favourite part of Eve? Are you a PVP Pilot? Into Industry or Mining? Or perhaps a mission runner

All the areas are of great interest and what made EVE great for me. I have done just about everything at least once during my career as a capsuleer.

[b]What area of Eve do you operate in. High Sec? Low Sec? Null Sec

Now I dont operate in any area of space. Before leaving I operated in High sec because my real life situation demanded it. But I have lived in all security areas of space.

Interesting thread. I am willing to answer your questions:

QuestionWhat is your perspective on the protests current happening in New Eden. What do you know about them and what are your feelings?

ExclamationI think of them as childish, nearly violent acts of people who are not willing to see that it is CCP who steers this game, not the players. Mainly the personal attacks against some devs or the CEO of CCP are inappropriate. I see that many care deeply. But to see EvE as only a spaceship game is a so much narrow view - it can and will be much more.

QuestionHow has your experience with the Incarna expansion been so far?

ExclamationVery good. I like the new turrets very much for instance. My computer cannot display CQ very well - and there is not much to see and do. But before I had always the star map open in stations - and now I do the same.

QuestionHave you read the two leaked documents? The "Fearless - Greed is Good" newsletter and proportedly internal email? Do you have any thoughts on their content?

ExclamationI read the mail by myself and about the document. I think that the content is very good explained by CCP Zulus blog. I did not find anything wrong in DISCUSSING MT for not-vanity items.
The email is something different. I think that CCP should talk more to the players. An official statement, that non-vanity items will not coming out in the next months would be helping. But foremost I think that this email should'nt leaked in to the public in the first place. This was a very dangerous act - and can damage the relation between CCP and the player base for a long time.

QuestionDo you trust CCP and the direction that they'll be taking EVE in over the next few years?

ExclamationThis questions is somewhat weird. What has trust to do with the development of EvE? This direction can be of my liking - then I will play as long as possible or to my disliking then I will eventually stop player. I personally thing that CCP is going to make this game more awesome with Incarna multiplayer and the Dust 514 link.

QuestionDo you see yourself using the Noble Exchange in the future? What sort of things would you buy? What sort of things do you think should be available from the store?

ExclamationI had purchased a PLEX for changing into Aurum beforehand. But the prices are much higher then I expected. I do not see myself buying anything that costs so much. But I would buy something that is cheaper. I very much want to buy custom paint-jobs for my ships.

QuestionHow long have you been playing Eve?

ExclamationNearly 5 years.

QuestionWhat is your favourite part of Eve? Are you a PVP Pilot? Into Industry or Mining? Or perhaps a mission runner

ExclamationI am an industrialist and I fly a mission sometimes.

QuestionWhat area of Eve do you operate in. High Sec? Low Sec? Null Sec?

ExclamationMostly High-Sec.

What is your perspective on the protests current happening in New Eden. What do you know about them and what are your feelings?
I'm aware of them, participated in Jita protests early yesterday (when the thing just started snowballing) and i totally support them. CCP apparently does not care about players' opinions on the forums, so we ought to find another way to get the message through to them.

How has your experience with the Incarna expansion been so far?
Well, firstly, the setbacks: the apparently mandatory captains quarters (which, by the way, eat up WAY too much resources for their usefulness) - yes, there's "the door option", but it was officially stated that it is temporary.
Furthermore, completely ridiculous prices in NeX that are blow way out of proportion and doesn't fin into any "common sense" margins. This is not microtransactions, my friends, we're looking at MACROtransactions.
Now, those were my initial concerns about Incarna, which i, in overall, value positively and have been looking towards ever since it was spoiled at fanfest. Also, the new turrets and maller hull models are absolutely gorgeous (apart from the turret icons, which would use some love tbh). Well, then there is an usual assortment of bugs - some random stuff broken, other not working as intended - but most of us (me and my friends) have already got used to that, really.

Have you read the two leaked documents? The "Fearless - Greed is Good" newsletter and proportedly internal email? Do you have any thoughts on their content?
Yep, I've read both documents (in fact, i was there listening to the eve radio stream covering recent events with the CSM when the second one got leaked). I did not take the first much seriously. Yes, it has raised some concern, however that was an internal document after all, so i decided to wait for official response (in form YES or NO to the question we all know).
And then, the letter. While i still harbor some hope this is fake, the hope is fading with each passing minute of CCP's silence. And that's the worst part of it - the complete lack of any communication from the CCP developers/management apart from a random post or nuked thread by the community people - whom i do not envy at this time, at all. Was it that hard to post a simple message by some "very important person" in the lines of "sorry, we're working on this, please, remain calm!".

Do you trust CCP and the direction that they'll be taking EVE in over the next few years?
I trusted CCP up until two days ago. As of now - only the time and CCP's actions can tell whether they will regain my and other people's trust.

Do you see yourself using the Noble Exchange in the future? What sort of things would you buy? What sort of things do you think should be available from the store?
Well, if the prices were more reasonable (in line with other MT-driven games) I might consider doing it once more stuff is added. Right now there's nothing of interest for me even if the items would be for free.

How long have you been playing Eve?
I my full subscription started on November 2005 after a few free trials earlier that year. And has continued to this day with a few short breaks.

What is your favourite part of Eve? Are you a PVP Pilot? Into Industry or Mining? Or perhaps a mission runner
Mostly PvP and mission running to fund my PvP activities. I'm in a PvP alliance, after all.Cool And my favourite part is, again, the PVP. It's by far the only mmo out there where you lose everything (minus teh insurance) you had when you die in PVP, thus making it much more interesting and thrilling.

What area of Eve do you operate in. High Sec? Low Sec? Null Sec?
Mostly lowsec, with a bit of nullsec (don't like teh blobz, so just random small/medium battles). And hisec doesn't like me anyways YARRRR!!

What is your perspective on the protests current happening in New Eden. What do you know about them and what are your feelings?
I feel they are justified due to the complete lack of communication on the main topics of contention relating to Incana

How has your experience with the Incarna expansion been so far?
I turned off the CQ after I logged on. I find the Agent Finder one of the better parts of the release. I refuse to be submitted to CCP's double dipping and wont use the Space Barbies dress-up store. The Turret Icons for salvagers/tractor beams are a joke they look like a grey blob on a black background.

Have you read the two leaked documents? The "Fearless - Greed is Good" newsletter and proportedly internal email? Do you have any thoughts on their content?
I have read both the offending materials and it only shows how far out of touch the management at CCP really are. If they really thought we, the player base, wanted these things why weren't they announced at Fanfest or were they afraid that they would not have made it off the stage, let alone out of the building.

Do you trust CCP and the direction that they'll be taking EVE in over the next few years?
No haven't trusted CCP for '18 months'

Do you see yourself using the Noble Exchange in the future? What sort of things would you buy? What sort of things do you think should be available from the store?
I feel it should be scrapped, that might end the rage. I wont be buying stuff at all, I could buy a real shirt for the prices they are charging.

How long have you been playing Eve?
since Jan06

What is your favourite part of Eve? Are you a PVP Pilot? Into Industry or Mining? Or perhaps a mission runner
I am a jack of all trades, I have tried PvP (badly)Very Happy, did the mission running for a long time, mine/manufacture a lot for my corp. I am part of the Cadre staff for my corp as most people from the large govt department I work for get their initial exposure to Eve through our corp.

What area of Eve do you operate in. High Sec? Low Sec? Null Sec?
Worm hole and High Sec, but have played in 0.0 in the past but got sick of the politics involed

What is your perspective on the protests current happening in New Eden. What do you know about them and what are your feelings?

People are trying to make a point about the many failures CCP has made of late. Their reasons are their own but a large theme for many is the micro transaction aspect that CCP has shown they are very interested in and locked into pushing into EVE. I support their efforts and participated a bit in them for a time.

How has your experience with the Incarna expansion been so far?
CQ has no content. There is nothing to do in CQ that I couldn't do before save the agent finder, walking around a room, and a few other bits here and there that add nothing to my EVE experience. I my avatars look odd if not terrible, and it adds unecessary burdens to my hardware (being about 2 years old upper mid-range gear). Running 2 clients with CQ enabled introduces performance hits so I've disabled CQ as it does nothing for me.

I could forgive Incarna for no new content if it fixed or balanced more of the game but incarna is a push for the NEX/Aurum Gold with no apologies or tact in trying to fleece players.

Have you read the two leaked documents? The "Fearless - Greed is Good" newsletter and proportedly internal email? Do you have any thoughts on their content?

Yes, Fearless reads like CCP policy, no it isn't supposed to be their policy but reading it and knowing what has come to pass and what is coming it seems doubtful it is 100% opinion from those who don't have any say in what comes to pass. Fearless details EVE, DUST, and WOD in respect to MT, EVE hasn't had MT in the traditional sense and Incarna doesn't add them it builds on the macro transaction of PLEX and expands it. Dust and WOD are to be Free to play and supported by MT the message of Fearless is EVE will join that gang of MT products AND still have a subscription cost.

The email says to us what we've seen CCP is emboldened by the sales of 52 worthless pixel monocles and looks on players to play the part of battered wife who doesn't leave the abusive husband. We are nothing more than that to them, addicted or dependant on them and no matter our ire we can't leave so this gives them license to do what they will. It is another nail in CCP's coffin and further underscores the message of a year ago 'the data doesn't support that polished quality sells better than new content'. Cold calculating business logic, not what is best for EVE or the players, there is no loyalty to us we are nothing but wallets to pay them.

Do you trust CCP and the direction that they'll be taking EVE in over the next few years?
Not at all.

Do you see yourself using the Noble Exchange in the future? What sort of things would you buy? What sort of things do you think should be available from the store? I will NEVER kill a PLEX to spawn Aurum gold. I could have seen some use for MT but without AURUM gold or even with it at reasonable prices, no $20+ crap.

How long have you been playing Eve?
About 2 years.

What is your favourite part of Eve? Are you a PVP Pilot? Into Industry or Mining? Or perhaps a mission runner
The player community which actually makes the game worth playing and bearable to play.

What area of Eve do you operate in. High Sec? Low Sec? Null Sec?
High sec, WH, and the least low/null I can get away with.

What is your perspective on the protests current happening in New Eden. What do you know about them and what are your feelings?

I'm holding a pitchfork, a torch and a pen. I'm one of the protestors. I've been warning that bad things were coming for some time now. My goal in all this is to protect the integrity of the sandbox, always has been.

How has your experience with the Incarna expansion been so far?

On a purely functional level, it works ok. CQ it self is a bit clunky feeling. I would not say it looks any better than things I have seen years ago. The resource consumption for what it does is far beyond normal in my view. I would certainly prefer the hangar over the door. I disabled the CQ. If it were not such a CPU and memory pig, I would probably have left it on. The other features seem to be working well enough. It did introduce some rather high priority bugs and a few critical ones.

Right now it is substandard, this would not get out the door at software companies I have worked.

Have you read the two leaked documents? The "Fearless - Greed is Good" newsletter and proportedly internal email? Do you have any thoughts on their content?

Yes, both. I understand the usefulness of such internal news letters. Have participated in them in my own career. I do not however make the mistake of thinking that their content is there by accident.

As to the email, since there is no confirmation of its authenticity, I have not given it much weight in my mind. It's attitude and slant do portray typical corporate top down 'rally the troops' sentiments.

Both documents do present a negative view of customers, that is never good.

Do you trust CCP and the direction that they'll be taking EVE in over the next few years?

My faith in CCP will return Soon™.

Do you see yourself using the Noble Exchange in the future? What sort of things would you buy? What sort of things do you think should be available from the store?

No. Nothing. Player created items all of which would be purely cosmetic, with CCP getting a cut of all transactions. No not SL in space.

How long have you been playing Eve?

5+ years

What is your favourite part of Eve? Are you a PVP Pilot? Into Industry or Mining? Or perhaps a mission runner

Done just about everything, trade has always been in the background, that's a constant. Been a carebear, been a 0.0 dweller, wormholes, mission grinder, miner, low sec wanderer, POS, research, ran a corp, etc. What I have not done is be a pirate, fly combat caps or do the booster making business.

What area of Eve do you operate in. High Sec? Low Sec? Null Sec?

Currently in High Sec doing trade and not often undocking.

What is your perspective on the protests current happening in New Eden. What do you know about them and what are your feelings?

I understand why some people are angry at CCP for the high-priced items in the Noble Exchange and the performance hit of CQ on people's computers. I also understand some people are angry at CCP for not returning the answers to the questions raised, though I do not condone abusive attacks on CCP and ISD people.

How has your experience with the Incarna expansion been so far?

I really like CQ, though it's making my GPU fan sound like a fighter jet on takeoff.

Have you read the two leaked documents? The "Fearless - Greed is Good" newsletter and proportedly internal email? Do you have any thoughts on their content?

I'm thunderstruck and shocked. I hope that global mail is a fake. Nevertheless, both gives the impression to players that they are funding units and not part of the evolution process to keep eVE Online a great game. I can only imagine how the CSMs feel right now.

Do you trust CCP and the direction that they'll be taking EVE in over the next few years?

I trust them, but they really need to be more open and up front on what they are trying to do, especially if they plan to put skill points, ships, and other gamebreaking items in the Noble Exchange.

Do you see yourself using the Noble Exchange in the future? What sort of things would you buy? What sort of things do you think should be available from the store?

I'm not likely to use the NEX, but if I see a nice roll of duct tape on sale, I might change my mind. Just kidding. If they put affordable VANITY only items for the CQ, I may buy them.

How long have you been playing Eve?

Exactly one year as of this month (June).

What is your favourite part of Eve? Are you a PVP Pilot? Into Industry or Mining? Or perhaps a mission runner

Industry, mining, mission running.

What area of Eve do you operate in. High Sec? Low Sec? Null Sec?

Highsec space.

What is your perspective on the protests current happening in New Eden. What do you know about them and what are your feelings?

I think players need to get the word around and this is a good way. And news agencies (like DV in Iceland) are starting to take notice. Which should help build pressure.

How has your experience with the Incarna expansion been so far?

Being one of the players not using Nvidia cards performance has been very sluggish from day one. Add to that these are just a beta Minmatar quarters with very limited functionality and an overall burden for player's systems and you can see why many people just disable them while hoping to get the hangar view back. And this is not even counting how inconvenient and immersion killers they are to begin with just for the sake of displaying NEX store-friendly avatars.

Have you read the two leaked documents? The "Fearless - Greed is Good" newsletter and proportedly internal email? Do you have any thoughts on their content?

Of course I have. They are very worrisome for someone who has been playing EVE as long as I have. I've quit a few times before for several reasons, but I always considered EVE the oasis in the desert of MMOGs out there. But now reading about the new direction EVE has been going since Dominion it is painfully obvious the old EVE values of player generated immersion are being disregarded in an attempt of going for the big bucks. Bucks they are desperately in need of because of very poor management and vision.

When you see the CEO of the company running the game you care for so much thinking of it as a cash cow only useful to fuel new white elephant projects quite a few red alarms go off.

Do you trust CCP and the direction that they'll be taking EVE in over the next few years?

With the current administration? Not at all, it will just go downhill from here. This is why it is so important to stop it now, that it's just starting. If we wait until they start adding the P2W Aurum items it will be already too late. But the only ways we have to put real pressure on them to make the (very unlikely) changes is by cancelling our subs (monetary impact) and spreading the word around (PR impact.)

Do you see yourself using the Noble Exchange in the future? What sort of things would you buy? What sort of things do you think should be available from the store?

Oddly enough I see myself and many other players not so adverse to the idea of a NEX store where you could buy *exclusively* vanity items on later stages of Incarna if the prices were low enough. For instance buying the famous monocles (I don't like it at all, but whatever rocks your boat) for the equivalent to 99 cents would be relatively attractive. But eighty bucks? Get the f*** out of here. Problem is CCP doesn't have the money to complete Incarna to a level where the NEX store is feasible. And at least Incarna is part of EVE, so it's even worse for Dust and WoD. It's obvious they don't have the power to do 4 things at the same time, and the NEX store is a good sign of their desperation.

How long have you been playing Eve?

This account was created more than 2 years ago but took a break, my old main was created after Revelations, 4 total.

What is your favourite part of Eve? Are you a PVP Pilot? Into Industry or Mining? Or perhaps a mission runner

It's hard not to be a little bit of everything. From a pirate to miner, from corp officer to the mission runner paying for protection. Every time I come back to EVE I try something new and enjoy every minute of it, even if sometimes I ended up playing station games for a week. But always having fun playing with other players like me either as an ally or an enemy.

But all of this history and EVE culture would be destroyed by game enhancing MTs. That's why we are opposing this.

What area of Eve do you operate in. High Sec? Low Sec? Null Sec?

High sec right now. But most of my time was spent 0.0 in the past.

What is your perspective on the protests current happening in New Eden. What do you know about them and what are your feelings?
I love it but it should never have to happen. Sadly, this is how things get done in EVE. The protests, the news leaks, the forums in EVE and others like Failheap Challenge forums all contribute to the push and pull of EVE.

Do you trust CCP and the direction that they'll be taking EVE in over the next few years?
Not as much as I would like to. The game was unique and not so readily replaced. However, that doesn't mean it can't be replaced. The fact that they have so many people willing to help make the game great but they chose to ignore it makes me very sad actually.

Do you see yourself using the Noble Exchange in the future? What sort of things would you buy? What sort of things do you think should be available from the store?
Don't get me wrong. I love stupid items in games. I think Guild Wars had the best useless or near-useless stuff around. I had tons of it. I would have considered buying cheap fun things if a) they were in fact cheap b)there was some means of using them. There is no walking in station and there won't be for a long time. It may never happen given CCP's history of not following through on projects. I will never support the selling of actual game items though such as ships, ammo, etc. since that destroys the economy of EVE. I have unsubscribed my accounts.

How long have you been playing Eve?
Almost 3 years with 2 accounts. No longer subscribed as of Incarna +1.

What is your favourite part of Eve? Are you a PVP Pilot? Into Industry or Mining? Or perhaps a mission runner
I do some of all that. Historically, I have been a miner, refiner and builder.

What area of Eve do you operate in. High Sec? Low Sec? Null Sec?
I operate in all 3 actually. The contrasts are a challenge and you really need to stay aware of what kind of systems you're in.

Have you read the two leaked documents? The "Fearless - Greed is Good" newsletter and proportedly internal email? Do you have any thoughts on their content?
Yes I have. Stunning at the very least. I'm not under the impression CCP is wanting to operate EVE for free. It's a business. The total disdain for the customer base was insulting even if it wasn't unexpected. The unrealistic view of what EVE's player base wants and is willing to pay for was amazing. It makes one wonder about the sobriety of the people writing this stuff. The documents mixed with CCp's actions seem to validate that CCP is willing to destroy EVE for some quick cash. I think they should just sell it then.

How has your experience with the Incarna expansion been so far?
Haven't had a lot of difficulty yet except a distrust of how the game operates right now. There were problems of ships flying backwards, weapon modules not working and items going missing to name a few. Therefore I have not tried anything in the game except evacuate mu stuff out of dangerous areas. The Captain's Quarters is a soul-crushingly bad addition as well as the terrible interface that was introduced.I have that disabled. Multiple clients are a big problem too.

What is your perspective on the protests current happening in New Eden. What do you know about them and what are your feelings?

I feel that every player has the right to express their discontent for situations in any legal way they see fit. That said, I am aware of the reasons. If those players wish to use their remaining game time locking down systems I'm fine with it. It may **** me or others off, but this is a sandbox game and it's well in their right.

How has your experience with the Incarna expansion been so far?

Incarna was released in a not ready fashion. I logged into SiSi 2 days prior and there were issues with it. I thought for sure they wouldn't release it but I guess they didn't care about releasing unfinished work. Personally I'd be embarrassed if I had worked on it and was told it was going live knowing it wasn't ready.
Don't get me wrong, the artist are awesome and it will eventually look epic. However it wasn't finished and needed completion.

Have you read the two leaked documents? The "Fearless - Greed is Good" newsletter and proportedly internal email? Do you have any thoughts on their content?
I have read both. My impression is CCP has raging epeen for themselves. Sure they have/had an Epic space game for years, but they aren't God's gift to the gaming industry.

Do you trust CCP and the direction that they'll be taking EVE in over the next few years?
At this point no one knows where it is going because they won't tell us the truth. I think getting out of a spaceship is something you do if you won't be getting back in for awhile. I.E. babysitting factories, doing PI, checking and sending mails, trading, etc. I don't believe any spaceship Captain would exit their spaceship just to dump cargo, get ammo, dump a mission, etc. So if forcing players out of their ships to engage in a part of the game they may not want to be in is the future, I do not agree with CCP. It would be no different than forcing a player to engage in manufacturing and mining when all they want to do is shoot other players.

Do you see yourself using the Noble Exchange in the future? What sort of things would you buy? What sort of things do you think should be available from the store?
I will not buy from the NeX store. I grind to buy PLEX to sub my accounts. In Pre-Incarna PLEX was either used to extend a players game time or donated to charities.
Post-Incarna CCP creates a new currency that they control the value of and not the in-game market/players. Every PLEX converted to Aurum is pure dollars for CCP to fund w/e they want( apparently not Eve). Currently 1 USD = 200 Aurum no matter what PLEX sells for on the market or what a Monocle sells for on the market. They don't have to change the store prices to make more profit. They just have to change how much Aurum you get per PLEX, and given their statements you won't be getting more Aurum per PLEX.
Regardless of whether you want cheaper vanity items in the store, pay to win items or none of the above, try to imagine the implications of a currency exchange that CCP controls exclusively in this game. (hint: if Aurum was on the foreign currency exchange you'd be wise to convert your money today because CCP will be sure to adjust the conversion rate as high as it can go)

What is your perspective on the protests current happening in New Eden. What do you know about them and what are your feelings?

Bunch of reactionary babies, but it's good they're making a fuss because it's sending a clear message (once again) that a large amount of the player-base is not interested in playing a game where micro-transactions make the game "pay to win".

How has your experience with the Incarna expansion been so far?

I've always wanted walking in stations since 2004. So, pretty good, they fixed a lot of the graphical problems I was getting on my ATI card when I was testing it out on the Duality test server before release. It's a really good start and I'm glad CCP are taking EVE in a direction of iterative development, it lets them get out more features quicker. The new turrets look really nice as well.

Have you read the two leaked documents? The "Fearless - Greed is Good" newsletter and proportedly internal email? Do you have any thoughts on their content?

I've read both. If the "Greed is Good" newsletter was meant to stir debate rather than put forth a game plan for the next stage of EVE's development, I wish they made it a bit more obvious, it sounds a bit too one-sided toward a "play to win" model. The supposed internal email doesn't surprise me. It's always seemed as though EVE's management and executive team has never had a real connection with the EVE playerbase, they're more concerned with the business aspect of running the company, as they should. Unfortunately for Hilmar and his team, it wasn't a very smart move business-wise to take a very niche game with a niche playerbase primarily formed of "hardcore" PC gamers and think they could apply a "pay to win" model on top of what they've already built over the last decade.

Do you trust CCP and the direction that they'll be taking EVE in over the next few years?

CCP has always had a major disconnect between the player community and their own ideas of what they believe their game should be. It hasn't been until the last year or so that the playerbase has had an effect on the game, and that was due to the first player outcry when CCP asked their playerbase to vote for them in some silly poll last year. The playerbase pretty much gave them a big middle finger and told them to fix glaring problems with the game, like server lag and ship balancing. Lag has been steadily improving, but ship balancing still goes largely ignored. It wasn't until CCP Tallest's post a few days ago that they would finally be attempting to balance ships, mainly due to the efforts of my good friend White Tree and the rest of CSM6.

Do you see yourself using the Noble Exchange in the future? What sort of things would you buy? What sort of things do you think should be available from the store?

Absolutely, I think vanity items for avatars is a great idea, it doesn't change anything about the more competitive aspects of the game and of course it produces more revenue for CCP, they are a business after all. So long as they stick to vanity items I don't care how cheap or expensive they are, though I think a low-cost model with many items to choose from is the way to go if they want to get newer players hooked on it.

If they decided to sell a pair of cat ears and a cat tail for my avatar, I'd give them all of my isk.

Griefing. The hands-off approach CCP GMs have on the game is very refreshing, it really is a "sandbox" within limits.

Mainly NPC nullsec, though I recently had an excursion into a wormhole for fun. I'm looking to get into pirating and going -10.

What is your perspective on the protests current happening in New Eden. What do you know about them and what are your feelings?

Good thing the community has finally realised how ****ty CCP is.

How has your experience with the Incarna expansion been so far?

Terrible. New CQ interfaces are redundant, lag, make my processor run hot and bluescreened my desktop. Plus the Aurum, urgh.

Have you read the two leaked documents? The "Fearless - Greed is Good" newsletter and proportedly internal email? Do you have any thoughts on their content?

Read, and they were written basically by a company that no longer has any clue what they are doing. My thoughts are "Wow, what a stupid bunch of morons."

Do you trust CCP and the direction that they'll be taking EVE in over the next few years?

Absolutely not - unsubbing four accounts.

Do you see yourself using the Noble Exchange in the future? What sort of things would you buy? What sort of things do you think should be available from the store?

Not once and never.

How long have you been playing Eve?

Seven years.

What is your favourite part of Eve? Are you a PVP Pilot? Into Industry or Mining? Or perhaps a mission runner

I was fond of the sandbox, and the cyno effect, and the pre-nerf ECM, and the pre-nerf nano ships, pre-supercaps was good too. Oh and before the ****ty sov changes to deflect attention from the broken POS system. Before the market changes where Dysprosium became Technetium and vice versa, solving nothing. Quite fond of the old warp to 15km before it became a bear game. Also remember when faction tower BPC's dropped, before the unfinished epic arcs development time was wasted. That Eve was best.

What area of Eve do you operate in. High Sec? Low Sec? Null Sec?

What is your perspective on the protests current happening in New Eden. What do you know about them and what are your feelings?

Im not the guy who like mass protests in general, but can understand everyone that participate. Personally, i just leave if things start to head in a direction that no longer appeal to me.

How has your experience with the Incarna expansion been so far?

Quite good actually. I like the CQ and fortunately i did not experience any heat problems or similar. The only downside is, that i cant run Eve in VM Ware anymore (As Mac user, the Windows Client in VM Ware used to be better than the Mac Client).

Have you read the two leaked documents? The "Fearless - Greed is Good" newsletter and proportedly internal email? Do you have any thoughts on their content?

I did read the Fearless newsletter, and it really worried me. I work in a bigger company myself and know such things i call 'internal propaganda'. Its used to bring the lower employe in line with the management. And it became very obvious through the newsletter, what the direction will be in the future.

Do you trust CCP and the direction that they'll be taking EVE in over the next few years?

I did until a few days ago. Now i think 'SWG' all the time. Twisted Evil

Do you see yourself using the Noble Exchange in the future? What sort of things would you buy? What sort of things do you think should be available from the store?

I tried and bought the cheapest boots to see how it all work. I also got my 'Quafe' shirt. However, CCP made very clear that the prices were no mistake. They further made very clear that they intend to milk the Eveplayers for their other games. Personally, i felt insulted by any official comment to the protests so far due to the arrogance and smug in it. CCP also seem to think, that they have pretty dumb costumers.

How long have you been playing Eve?

2 years, 3 month

What is your favourite part of Eve? Are you a PVP Pilot? Into Industry or Mining? Or perhaps a mission runner

I started as Miner and Missionrunner and moved to Providence back in the days. Tried different 0.0 later, but was bored fast (NC pets), so i moved back to highsec. You can see me from time to time in low too. So i guess that mean, i like and tried most parts. PI sucks though. :)

What area of Eve do you operate in. High Sec? Low Sec? Null Sec?

See above. Currently im mainly in highsec since 0.0 is kinda broken in my eyes.

My understanding of the current unrest is that it's made up largely of mob-ignorance on the part of the community, and lack of adequate communication on the part of CCP. The root cause appears to be statements made in the Fearless newsletter and a supposed email.
My feelings are that the unrest in the community is wholly the wrong way to go about this. No grown adult is interested in listening to a mob break down and scream like a child in the cereal aisle. I'm watching to see how CCP responds. As a moderator on another forum though, I have little tolerance for disruptions like this. I'm not interested in discussing anything with anyone willing to act like this, and I'm certainly not interested in legitimizing this behavior. My approach is to listen to the people who approach the issue rationally and professionally (Tippia comes to mind), and bring the might of the law down on those who generate a disruption.

How has your experience with the Incarna expansion been so far?
My experience with Incarna itself thus far has been fine, I've experienced no major performance issues. I can't say I'm crazy about the price of clothes in space or the inability to modify the physical appearance of my characters, but these are not game-breaking to me.

Have you read the two leaked documents? The "Fearless - Greed is Good" newsletter and proportedly internal email? Do you have any thoughts on their content?

I've downloaded the 4.24MB "Fearless - Greed is Good?" newsletter, I've read about half of it as I write this. It's a tough read. I can see where some folks might be concerned, especially without knowing the context. To be honest, I'm not sure what CCP can really do in the face of this. But I also think any statement they make will be dismissed by the mob. CCP can say "There will be NO microtransactions for anything that directly affects gameplay," and the mob will simply say "You're lying."
The email doesn't ring true to me at all. It didn't make sense to me as I read it, the tone didn't seem right. It came across as a cliche, completely fabricated. The focal point of monocle sales shot it down for me. There's no way a business leader would focus on that, with a number that small.

Do you trust CCP and the direction that they'll be taking EVE in over the next few years?
I trust CCP about as much as I trust any other game developer. The services they provide to us, like any other game company, are a means to an end, the end being earning a profit. They can't make everyone happy, but in the end, everyone's better served by generating/receiving a quality product.

Do you see yourself using the Noble Exchange in the future? What sort of things would you buy? What sort of things do you think should be available from the store?
Only if the prices come down to a more reasonable level. I agree with the prevailing mindset that only vanity items should be available on the NEX, anything that gives a mechanical advantage should be off-limits. What would I buy? If they offered it, maybe more characteristic clothing for my characters.

How long have you been playing Eve?

Roughly two and a half years.

What is your favourite part of Eve? Are you a PVP Pilot? Into Industry or Mining? Or perhaps a mission runner

I enjoy EVE's open-ended, player-driven nature. I don't necessarily like everything EVE's players do, but really EVE wouldn't be EVE if it were any other way.

What area of Eve do you operate in. High Sec? Low Sec? Null Sec?

Highsec
