You're probably too young to remember T20 and the T2 BPO mess. It generated the CSM so there could be more "transparency" between CCP and the players. Even the CSM was blindsided by this mess of the past few days.

You're probably too young to remember much farther back than Incursion... maybe Tyranis...

So, in order to give you a small glimpse of what us "bitter vets" who you so want to leave are up in arms about...

watch this
and this
and this

but most importantly, this

hell, how about the Trinity patchnotes

I'm not saying that the newer trailers aren't bad (some are good)... but they've missed the mark this time... and the game will crumble if pay2win comes to eve.

To the manufacturers -- who will need you when ships/ammo/etc can be bought for AUR?

To the inter-regional haulers -- who will need your services, once the manufacturers leave en masse?

To the jita traders -- what need will we have for Jita 4-4, since there is no one hauling stuff to/from Jita?

To the BPO researchers, and BPC copiers -- with the manufacturers gone, who will buy your researched prints?

To the miners -- with no manufacture, trade, or (researched) BP's available, who will need your minerals?

To the PvPers -- you may find the above as targets for sport (hey, this is EVE afterallYARRRR!!)... but without them, how will you be able to be competitive with pay2win when rifters cost 1m ISK or more for the hull?

To all of you if you just brush this off as :bittervet: -- just keep in mind when (not if) the markets stagnate and fail because of pay2win transactions, and this becomes another FoTM game; we told you so.

This post will probably die under the combined fire of everything else that's happening today. I just hope that before this happens, some of you can see why we are so worried about losing our sandbox.

edit... derped a link...

Bad link is bad but don't bother to fix it. Most of us are aware of this and many of us were indeed around for this mess as well.

Here's a hint...Nobody cares.

LOL

I'm sorry, but it is whining. And I've been around since 04. I mean, seriously, you're trying to compare t20, where people were actually cheating in eve to this?

This is nothing.

If the scale of item cost holds true, then a frigate would cost over $300. Somehow, I doubt that's gonna put a big dent in frigate sales.

no, I'm saying that the last time there was a big scandal we got the CSM to promote "transparency" between CCP and us . There was no transparency here, CCP pulled a fast one on the CSM and the community.

enjoy your shell of a game once it's all pay2win...

LOL I heard someone say exactly the same thing when they moved rare ores to lowsec and 0.0.

You guys are freaking out over CCP devs having a brainstorming session where one suggested it. And, OMG CCP won't swear on a stack of bibles never ever ever to do it!!!!.

Get a grip. CCP can't legally make that claim without exposing themselves to the possibility of lawsuit whether they break that promise or not. So atm they're going to keep their mouths shut and see what happens.

Thank you, it was a nice view of the history of what we've lost.

Welcome Eve Dark Ages a new free expansion from CCP.

Played since 2003 and until this week I *had* four accounts. Most of my characters are now being sold on forums. What your new guys forget is this rage is not about the latest set of surprises CCP sprang on us, its the icing on the cake after years of broken promises and lies.

These include misconduct by CCP developers, spawning of blueprints for favoured corporations, leaking of game mechanics to dev friendly players and then they screwed 0.0. So the problem is CCP had very little credibility, then they went and blew that away with the recent events. Greed and hubris will kill Eve.

Excellent post.

Most people that have the "$70 monocles don't affect me running L4's/trading/mining/PVP'ing whatever" are missing the point completely.

Everythingand everyone in Eve is connected, from the 0.0 alliance leader to the high sec miner, every change in game, no matter how insignificant to you, affects you even though you might not realize it. A change in to moon goo in 0.0 affects the high sec miner who has never left the forge, and a change to Veld mining in High sec affects those that live in deep 0.0. MT removes these links by magicking items into existence. The player economy is completely bypassed.

If you can't see/understand the connections in Eve, and how MT has the potential to damage them, you don't get Eve

But but... for $15 per month (plus MT fees), I can now play Science fiction Barbie. That will attract the masses to EVE, and they have 2-8 accounts each, for years to come!

we have a destiny to meet, and the courage of our pilots will show us the path, on the strength of your wings the fate of empires and the hopes of worlds will be decided,
