Fixed?

As long as there's no pay to win... that is.

Resume upon request CCP.

Why would you want to work for a company that's going to be bankrupt next year?

This is clearly a time for heroes. Some one has to answer the call. (CCP certainly isn't!)

Yeah, 500k players wouldn't buy the thing, I can guarantee you that right now.

However, it is a royal economic **** up if they actually plan on keeping it at the current price permanently. They're depriving themselves of a MUCH larger paycheck.

Also, let's not forget one thing. While there is an easy conversion between real cash to aurum, the way CCP has set it up is a lot like the same way that gift cards are used in stores. The full amount of the gift cards is rarely used in the store. Since none of the items cost an even plex, or add up to an even plex, they'll always have a surplus of cash due to a surplus of aurum floating around. It just complicates the formulas and statistics a little bit, doesn't make much of a difference in terms of comparing possible revenue, but still...

More realistically 30k * $1 = $30,000 and as more people entered the game and incarna didn't suck along with added vanity stuff that number could more than triple for other things like CQ decorations. On a basis where the clothes do get destroyed if you are wearing them you have more repeat business, needing/wanting extra sets of stuff for different stations even more sales.

But I'm sure CCP thinks they can do both get people to spend $20 on a set of clothes and have the isk rich/RL cash spenders pay $70+ for one item.

I get that these aren't in at the moment but think about this:

boots = 1 item
pants = 1 item
shirt = 1 item
hat/headgear = 1 item
mask/glasses = 1 item
handbag/smalldog = 1 item

Now say 1/2 the players logged into TQ spend the 3.00$ (at 50cents ea) this would take.

6*.50 *25,000

Granted its not 250,000 but... it's not crazy either. Also its better than $3000.

To me a simple thought experiment points out how utterly stupid a "premium" item is when a normal item will make money. Also, it doesn't **** everyone off!

Though the real issue remains. payforwin?

Agreed but the premise they are operating under is A) Eve players won't leave all the rage is just hot air and B) Eve players WILL buy this crap. So to them they can't lose, they can charge insane prices and we won't leave and will still buy their crap.

No doubt they're delusional. Just saying... the solution is simple and profitable.

Raise subscription fee by $1 = $400k a month extra revenue = $4,800,000 a year. In other words the equivalent of 640,000 monocles a year.

That's not an option to them, not unless they can still sell monocles for $70, other stuff for more and shirts for $20 too.
