It's because people complained about no shinny in the bugfix expansion, then they backflipped and ****ed up the next patch, then Hilmar gave up on listening to ****er users. |

so if they sell 500 monocles a month, at $80 a pop, thats $40,000 a month. a year that's $480,000, not even half a million a year. off the subs, they were making 18 million a year. So you are screwing the community over for an extra $480,000 ??/ Am I understanding this correctly?

Keeping in mind the time stamp on this "email" is Thursday, what worries me most about this email and the devblogs is...
It sounds like Smed. SOE Smed. And I don't think it's hit NGE proportions, but it's heading that way.
Do you feel that comparison seems reasonable? Or do you think Hilmar et al. have not gotten to that level of "no, you're wrong" yet? |

Oh, and also... remember. The Eve server cluster hardware could be rented out to scientific research and the like if they suddenly have "excess computational cycles" they could probably rent time since it IS a supercomputer. |

anyone around from the first days of the game, especially CCP knows people will pay extortionate prices for products to be overpowered. 2 months after game launch people were buying BS on ebay for 250-300 USD a pop like rocks of crack. My first ceo stole 90m from the corp and sold it for 700 USD during second or third week after launch.
People will pay disgusting amounts of money to assert digital dominace over one another but it is neither a sustainable nor sane model. Even if it works at first it will kill the game. Goodbye eve. |
