Okay I'll start:

Quote:
We will gradually introduce items at other price points, definitely lower and probably higher than whats in the store today. We hope you enjoy them and are as passionate about them as you are of the current items that are for sale.

Some people have dreams, other suffer from utter delusions. I am generally not the angry type: But this statement is just a little too much.

Seriously CCP. Wake up.

I agree with the OP, I think that was a very childish statement the dev made as well as very unprofessional.

My favorite was his reference to the price of actual REAL LIFE clothing. He basically compared high end Japanese designer jeans with pixels.

REALLY??

Yep. 'Fraid so.

Well, I came to the party late, only been playing for three months. Good thing this happened three days before I had to renew, because I've already cancelled. Unless CCP wakes up.

Oh, and Zulu, apparently you do deserve the ****storm. We the playerbase pay the money that allows you to do what you do. When a ****storm this big happens, well...maybe it was warranted.

Yeah, that line was the one that had my jaw hitting the floor in utter disbelief.

And that middle finger was pretty huge.

I'm not a critic of MT, but even I thought that the blog post was just a slap in the face of the playerbase. Besides his good point that developers are owed some respect and shouldn't be personally called out or "dragged through the mud", the rest of the post was pure baloney and just made me angry where I wasn't before.

Something about Incarna being flawless and gorgeous which showed me we are living in two different realities.

They will never "get it."

that blog was very condescending. Speaking to me as if I were a 4 year old incapable of seeing **** when it's there.

For me it was the bit about how not cool it was to hurt their feelings. We're then insulted. So, I guess if you're CCP it's ok to be rude, but players had better be nice!

"Im going to address both these issues right here."

They then use feerless as a straw man to avoid saying they would not expand mt to non vanity items.

then babble about the high price of the vanity item witch I could give a crap about

and ignore the part of the game they ripped out.

add ship hanger view back to game, or I will never resub

Yeah, keep telling yourself that.

"Assume for a short while that you are wearing a pair of $1,000 jeans from some exclusive Japanese boutique shop. Why would you want to wear a pair of $1,000 jeans when you can get perfectly similar jeans for under $50? What do other people think about you when they see you wearing them? For some you will look like the sad culmination of vainness while others will admire you and think you are the coolest thing since sliced bread."

I strongly doubt people that buy $1000 play EVE online; those that do certainly aren't the majority. Also, the undertone of calling non MTers ugly is just sad. Marketing 101 - Focus in on the "pain" and then show them how they "fix it".

Stay classy.

QFT. Really, CCP?! Comparing your online items to real world products is disingenuous at best; an indication of psychosis at worst.

This is a hint about a Vherokior jeans shop - only 200,000 AUR a piece! Very Happy

Its worth mentioning that the topic of the issue was "Greed is good?"

The addition of the question mark is a brilliant little bit of spin. Trying to pretend that the newsletter is some sort of discussion rather than "What we're doing next." would have been a good bit of damage control if not for the rest of the blog making it clear that it's a lie.
