you wouldn't believe! i stoped to read that **** on page 4. You really want CCP guys to read whole 10000000 whine posts and answer to each? Very Happy

They offered discussion. People simply ruined it. By copypasting from other threads. People simply don't read name of a thread.

How it could be done right way? Well. EASY. first person made post with some correct questions. Why not simply wait until he gets answers and then continue discussion? What to flood whole thread for? What all those person-to-person discussions for?
I really sure noone from CCP will take a look there. Not because they are bad. Just because i don't see what can they do there.

Has there been any more press coverage other than the token "eve burns" blogs? (not that i dont think that piece was EXCELLENT).

Media spotlights would shine a light on this and provoke a response I would think.

The RIGHT answer would have been to consult the CSM or to have talked with them as Seleene pointed out, numerous times. Almost all this drama would have been avoidable or manageable if they used the leadership they created.

EDIT: BEFORE launching Incarna

Why do I get the subtle feeling CCP is laughing at us? I can picture Soundwave, "These fools! We know they are addicted to this game and they know it too. They're just not smart enough to see the bigger picture. Let them stew over the weekend and come Monday, it will be business as usual."

Then the group clinks their beer bottles together, confident the money will roll in...

*shrug*

Of course. That is why players are saying EVE is dead.

It will continue (successfully or not is up to debate) with a new direction and new playerbase, but the EVE we once knew is long gone.

No, what happens next is a valid alternative to EVE. At the moment EVE has no competition... it has grown fat on hubris.

We've been had. SOE all over again....

Sad really, I don't want to see EVE die or CCP but they don't seem to want to help themselves, the grass is never greener on the other side, anyone that has ever tried has found that to be true.

I'm sorry but the most questions were relatively simple to answer. If they had a clear path and a clear reason it shouldn't have taken more than a couple of hours to have drafted and completed a response. They've now had several days.

The truth is they don't care. Much like SOE it appears they've made up their mind and the hell with all of use. It's been a good run, shame it has to end like that.

As more lose hope then you enter the phase were its not possible to spring back. The longer it goes the worse it always is.

I mean I'm paid for 6 more months so I'm sure I'll play that out always pay by the year. But lot of folks don't and their decisions are being made now, the game can't survive without them, Greed is Good shows us that. They've had incompetent management that has squandered their cash cow by letting it coast for 2 years until subscriptions started to dip. Unless they are willing to turn course they'll go down with this. It isn't any one person but sadly the corporate arrogance that seems to have arisen as they've not really had to weather any really hard times.

In fairness, delays can be from long call with investors and the board to talk about how to handle this. If they are taking us seriously, its more than just Hilmer making the call. He's accountable to a network of business relationships.

Undoubtedly he's doing damage control in multiple directions-investors, partners, media, and through staff to employees.

In fairness, Hilmer is accountable to a number of business entities-investors, partners, media, employees, and the players.

He's likely been in conversations all day with a variety of them. It's not easy to move on a dime like this. But the community would calm down if it was more than CCP Fallout saying a dev blog "is being worked on".

wouldnt be so bad but all it taqkes its a yes or no main question is...

well lets do a little hypothetical:

Say CCP needs money. They sell a new model to investors saying they will earn money over several years if they do MT. Agreements and commitments are made.

Now the community is in an uproar and its failscading fast. You cant unwind/renegotiate stuff like that in an hour, on a Friday, with European/Asian bankers at 6:30pm.

Erichan who's CCP alt are you, why do you defend them so much?

If they made promises they can't keep then they are in deep doo doo and nothing they say on this forum will save them.

Well better something more thoughtful on something as big as the strategic future of their company than just some token patch message intended to appease the masses.

I have played for 3 years and I love this game. I have really respected the work done and the contributions of players and developers alike.

The game without players is dead and the players without the game are unhappy. We need each other but things have just gotten unilateral lately and perhaps less than honest. There is nothing here that can't be fixed OVER TIME with owning single biggest problem to which all others are attached:

At the center of everything is the question of how much does CCP value its players? In the end that will decide almost everything one what or another, IMHO.

Well said Erichan, I myself have been playing on mains and alts for 7 years and yes CCP has hiccups here and there but they have been responded to in a timely fashion or solved. It is the waiting that is making us stew in our own juices. I enjoy Eve but I am seriously reconsidering my position as of the last 3 days. My confidence in CCP has dropped through the floor and hopefully they themselves will stop it from dropping further.

LOL.. i have unsubbed 2/3 accounts with a 3rd in the balance. I am mad as hell about the newsletter. I'm not CCP alt. I DO however care that we take a level-headed approach. Blame, bombast, flaming achieves nothing that we're all interested in.
