I was only staying to see how Incarna panned out and so far it's been nothing short of a huge sham. Due to this, I will be cancelling my main account after already having cancelled my alt account, and my brother won't be renewing his either. |

The current count is more to 1.000 subscriptions, when extrapolated it's probably around 2.000-2.500 accounts. Remember they're promises to cancel, there's no way to tell which ones will actually cancel.
As for the 52 monocles, those sales will decline rapidly. You can expect a 'large' amount of sales on the first day, with a steady decline onwards.
Not only that, but CCP likely made little at all from those 52 monocles. I would bet that a great deal of the AURUM spent was converted from PLEX that were already on the market, and bought with ISK. Sure, the ETCs came from them originally, but they were probably purchased before Incarna. |

Even if the trend were to continue and more players would leave the game at this rate: that would be 16200 less subscribers in 1 month time:
16200 * 15,- a month = 243.000,- dollars per month less subscription income.
Considering there are more items on the NeX store... i doubt we'd make the impact we need, at least initially, and that's presuming no new subscribers will enter the game...
Yeah I'm not taking a lot of things into account with this, :P but its presuming everything stays constant.
I doubt many more than those who have already bought the item will now. Conservative estimate of maybe 200 in total selling this month? Also consider those who have quit are those who have quit due to lack of answers and unconfirmed e-mails. If that e-mail is confirmed or CCP announce that non-vanity MT will be in and the rate of subs will increase. Also that's 1400 subs in a few days, multiplied over the month is many more. The loss is not just for one month but for every single month those people would have played. Add to that the number of people who will suggest that friends do not buy the game and the amount of people who would have got more accounts who now will not and that $16k/month ends up much much higher. |

I used to pay for three accounts, and I'm back to one for some time already. Actually this was my reaction on other situations where CCP did something obviously stupid without changing it back and excusing for it. So there is no more room to protest via account cancellation but only via game leaving for me.
I intend to keep this last account alive, but will leave this game for good the same moment the first item can be bought with Aurums, which serves more then pure vanity. If people are dumb enough to spend RL money for virtual vanity items, that is their problem, but if this will affect the actual game play, it turns to become my problem. I won't deal with this. |
