For nearly seven years I have watched CCP grow as a company. They took risks that paid off and some that fell through. There are times when they were incredibly open with information, and times when they were "business conservative" silent. CCP, and EVE Online specifically, are like everything else in this world: They have their ups and downs.

I remember the rage over nerfing MWDs and ABs so that you could activate one at any given time (remember the double MWD ravens?). Many of you may recall the great nano nerf, as well. CCP choosing to allow CSMs and also disclosing financial reports. Countless other nerfs and buffs have brought both rage and joy for many, many years now. Some of the changes I agreed with, some of them I didn't.

I'm rambling, so let me make this short:

I am not quitting. I love CCP, as a company, and the approach they usually take with the community. They release in-depth patch notes (in comparison to other games), hold tournaments, gather a very unique fanfest (blows Blizzcon out of the water), and interact with people through the CSM and IRC. I've always felt them welcoming, and even if they implement something I do not enjoy or will not make use of, they've still earned my respect.

This doesn't make me blind to the untold amount of content left unfinished or ideas never fully realized. Far from it. Because I appreciate what they offer me I am harder on them. But I remain here because I am happy. I log in and I'm still enjoying myself, my friends, my ships, and the diversity that is EVE. Yes, even the community still.

Will I use the Micro transactions? Most likely not. People will pay for what they want. Don't pay for what you don't want.

Will I be upset if people can buy ships and modules with MT? Not in particular. $ for PLEX already exists, so I'm adjusted to a degree.

Do I find CQ useless? Not in the slightest. My rig hardware aside, I like having a place to "relax" and the immersion it adds. That's my opinion, though.

But, will I adapt? I will, because I remember how they've treated me in the past well enough to trust them.

Didn't read your wall of text.
So you're enjoying buying pixel monocle for $80?
Cool story, sis.

That's the point ;) I'm not complaining about it because I'm not buying them. That applies to everything in EVE: Buy what you like. Ignore what you don't.

+1 /

However, there are indeed some disturbing things / mostly theory crafting over some "be it real or fake" CCP document.

Keep tuned. I am seriously tired.

Does that matter iff you have the isk to spend it on, and make a new one in isk nearly each month you play ??

Why do so many people assume that you absolutely have to buy the ****ing monocle? Its a **** item in a **** store in an overheating captains quarters.

When they fix the CQ overheating issue I'm gonna be quite happy. Wont touch the MT store tho.

This is a topic I think can be discussed with civility.

For now, I know it's horrible for some people. The option to disable it does exists though. For my personal opinion, I think they should include a hanger option and a CQ option. Let people decide which view to use on their own and allow them to set that as a default.

I've filed a suggestion report through the proper channels for this, so I (again) see no reason to rant on the forums.

You might not be complaining now but I wonder if you would when they realise they might sell more if the items actually effected game play even if it's in a small way.

Been playing since 2004, and will continue to do so until the server dies.

Corp thefts and War ransoms are great. They pay for a lot more than just ships.

The monocle was purrchaaysed for bling from the spoils.

De-click "load station environment" If you feel like ship spinning bring up the fitting window. Ta-da

+1 on this thread. I am pretty sure its about 3 or 4 butthurt players with 15 accounts crying these forums to death. It actually is a little disheartening.

However, more people online yesterday than i have seen in some time, and thats WITH all of those bots getting kicked in the nuts

Thats disturbing idea, lets hope CCP wont kill EVE for their new projects. It would be shame indeed. And i wouldnt be suprised if some took it personally as they invested lets say 6+ years into EVE.

I have, and I'm really alright with it.

Remember, that document is unofficial at best (see the disclaimer on the second page).

The parts of it I enjoy I'll participate in. The parts of it I don't enjoy, I won't participate in.

The game doesn't have to be molded around what I personally enjoy, because that will never happen for anyone.

I've addressed this: It happens, I'll adapt. In a way, being able to buy PLEX with Euro or USD does this to a degree. A casual player may get demolished by someone who sunk $500 into ISK and came over with a faction-fitted carrier.

Also, I don't forsee any ship or mod added through this system to be "uber". Perhaps slightly better, but never dramatically overpowered.

Are you also able to buy standings now too? How about a remap with that plex?

Right now my only concern is whether they will extend the market to 'RMT boosters'. A good line to take I think would be that if two players get into a fight, the items they buy with Aur should have no part in deciding the outcome of that fight.

Why not allow them to store more fittings for a bit of Aur? Just don't let them hold more cargo.
Why not let them buy some fancy clothes to show off? Just don't let them modify attributes.
Why not allow custom paintjobs on ships? Just don't modify the stats.

There are plenty of ways in which MTs can enhance EVE for those who want to take part in them, without affecting the rest of EVE.

Also, make it so we can rip the MT'd items off their corpses! Can you imagine the awesomeness of having the head of a player with that monocle in it floating in your hanger...

That won't bother me, either. Since gaining standing is something very trivial to me, I won't buy the feature.

That should be the point, really: If you don't like it or don't need it, don't buy it. If you do, gz, go have fun. Smile

Nothing mentioned so far, anywhere, indicates that there will be a massive imbalance to the game and none of the supposed features are set in stone.

Ideas come and go all the time in a business, and most never see the light of day.

Best to relax and see what happens.

Current Scenario: Sell plex's for isk, use isk to buy uber ship
Future Scenario: Sell plex's for Aurua, use that to buy uber ship

I won't even bother with sarcasm, what was your point?
