Just smashed this fellow up:

---OLD SURVEY REMOVED---

Its a general survey, intended to collect some information on how CCP's current customer base precieves CCP's current state.

I have tried to keep it neutral and fair. There was going to be a page dedicated specifically to eve online, but I chose a ****ty survey group who apparently wont let you make more then 10 questions for free. Perhaps this is for the best.

Have fun!

edit:

turns out that survery group also wouldnt let me see more then 100 results, its been redone on a different survey provider, and now has the eve online page.
NEW SURVEY HERE:

So where do we see the ongoing results of the survey?

One slight problem - In the final question you require me to enter which platform I want to see Dust available on, but there's no 'don't give a rat's ass'-option. I had to arbitrarily select Wii in order to complete the survey.

Hadn't thought of that Confused

I guess at this point selecting a random option as as good an option as any, since I cant edit the survey now. It'll introduce some noise into the results, but if everyone picks randomly, it won't skew the results too much.

More results!

10. I feel that DUST514 should be available on the following platforms:

PC 69.0% 20
Mac 24.1% 7

To be honest, your survey seems to be quite a bit negatively biased judging from the wording and the options you give.

And it is missing a lot of options (e.g. as an EVE player, I am looking forward to Dust514, I will probably not play myself but still like to see what comes out of the concept of linking both games).

Also, a 'dont care' option should be available everywhere, I dont really have an opinion about their upper management, let alone know which people at ccp those are...

Well, just for ****s and giggles you have another set of answers Wink

WHAT! I'm the only one who happened to vote for Wii? What happens if my mother in law wants to play Dust? Now she can't, all because you bastards clicked Mac and Mobile Devices!

Might be nice for CCP to know after the recent DDOS that 52% feel it is true that CCP cares about their security, and 40% feel it is not untrue.

In addition, it looks like despite all this, the playerbase still considers CCP a good place to work, or at least tolerable.
Strongly Disagree Disagree Neither Agree nor Disagree Agree Strongly Agree Response

CCP is a good employer 11.6% (5) 11.6% (5) 58.1% (25) 16.3% (7) 2.3% (1) 43

It might interest you to know that I answered significantly more positively then most. I did try to be unbiased, it is hard to detach yourself completely, and its possible some negativity has slipped though. Never the less, there are as many or more positive options in every question then there are negative options, so if the feeling of the community is positive, the results should reflect that.

Much better designed then CCPs marketing department survey from last month.

They just asked "What WoW clone do you play? What is their website, we want to buy advertising"

I have updated the third post in this thread with a screenshot of the current results of the survey (I cant directly share the page, it requires a login ugh)

I now have to go do IRL stuff for several hours. Keep the thread alive chaps, and share the survey around!

BTW: I think only one or two of the questions are actually skippable. When it says people skipped a question, it usually means someone is mid-way through the survey, and hasn't filled out an entire page yet.

A mere 15 or so people have filled in the survey since I have been gone, but this has never the less been sufficient to swing the feeling of CCP's attentiveness to the community by a few points in favor of both extremes:
- False - Somewhat True - True-
CCP listens to what The community thinks and says -57.6% (38)- 30.3% (20)- 12.1% (8)- 66
CCP cares about what The community thinks and says -63.6% (42)- 27.3% (18)- 9.1% (6)- 66

I would say, history has shown that CCP listen when the player base rage but not as a well as the ought to otherwise. I think the survey lacks a way to make that distinction.

Thanks for the work guys, thats all but doubled the number of respondents!

Some more updates since the last big one, I'll do another full dump once we hit 150 responses.

CCP is an ethic company has shifted down a notch, with the largest percentage now strongly disagreeing (previously just disagreeing).

However, the feeling is that despite this, CCP is a progressive company, up two notches from a tie between disagree and neutral to agree.

The ratio of people feelings towards the upper management of CCP continues to trend downwards. We still have no female respondants Sad and it seems that the number of people who want DUST514 on linux and MacOs are still more or less the same.

Bad news guys, survey monkey is terrible, they will only let me see up to the first 100 results.

I am now going to find a new survey software that will let me input data manually, and re-create the survey. Please bear with me.

I hope the number of people completing the survey reaches atleast 1k people. Would that be a significant enough number of people for them to pay attention?

We all love the idea of custom skins for ships. We like shinnies for our toons.

So you buy a ship for isk from a player, exchange a small amount of Aurum(RL $1USD) for a fresh skin. Fight in shinny ship which doesn't give you any sort of advantage. Ship dies. Aurum consumed. Plex Consumed. Mission accomplished.

Rinse repeat. I'm sure we would all happily purchase ship skins if the transaction was a MICRO transaction.

The issue with "Clothes" is that they won't be consumed. If the clothes were cheap and consumed during a podding SUDDENLY you have a clothes sink, where there wasn't one before. Suddenly, your clothes don't need to be so expensive.

Remember, high volume and on a small margin always beats low volume high margin FACT!

New survey is up. Sadly, I cant input the old data, but since I changed some of the questions, its probably better to start over. Thanks for the support people!

I still maintain that the original survey was very balanced. Not totally, perhaps, but close to it. The new one is, I feel, even better. These questions are questions that should all garner positive responses. EVery company should be able to ask its customerbase "do we act ethically?" and get a resounding "YES!". If they do not, that isn't my fault, and I won't pretend otherwise.
