I'm sure this has been said before, but I wanted to ensure my vote was counted as well. The prices of items in the Noble Exchange are absurd. It takes 4 plex to get enough points to buy the monocle, or 53 USD. Fifty-Three Dollars, for an item that I assume will only be available for one character on one account. That is completely unacceptable to me, and I will not even consider purchasing any of these items until the price drops to approximately 1/10 what the current value is. These items should cost no more than 2 to 3 USD for most things, perhaps up to 7 USD for a 'rare' item available from the store.

The captain's quarters looks good. I would like it if I could customize the content of the three screens somehow, it just doesn't seem very useful to me to have the corp menu as a permanent fixture, since I won't be changing corps with any frequency. The increased station loading time is frustrating, but not entirely unacceptable.

I don't like the front end of the new maller. Amarr ships should be smooth across the exterior facing, not tiered like that. It just doesn't seem to follow the Amarr design scheme.

-Karok

edit: changed numbers for cost of items.

I looked in my can of weapons this afternoon and you have changed from icons to what appears to be actual pictures of the guns.
You used to be able to tell at a glance what the gun was but now they are just pile of grey blobs. I'm sure they looked great blown up on a screen when they were designed but in game where they are so small they loose all definition.

I love EVE. I've been playing for many years and have loved every minute. To me EVE is a deeply immersive game universe like no other. For me EVE is all about the ships and the gameplay.

My feedback...

Whole CQ experience feels very sluggish. It takes ages to load which is a complete turn off. FPS is pitifully low. Have I docked in the 1990's ??? I have games 10 years old looking better than this! Incarna adds nothing but frustration to gameplay. CQ doesn't live up to the hype at all.

Why force this feature on us? You introduced Exploration / Wormholes / T3 / Incursions / Factional Warfare over the years. People could dip in, decide which features they liked and adjust their playstyle to suit. With Incarna, we are *forced* to create avatars which have no bearing on the game. We are *forced* to dock into a lame CQ interface that slows down everything and grinds gameplay to a crawl. It takes ages to load and adds NOTHING to gameplay. Docking is something people do ... A LOT! CQ should have been polished to such a high level because let's face it - people spend a lot of time docked, either trading, fitting, industry, PI, re-loading. It feels like we're being used as lab rats to debug CQ at the expense of our gaming experience!

I actually feel bad for all the dev's who have put a lot of effort into getting Incarna onto TQ and are getting such bad feedback on this forum. I'm sure I wouldn't like it if I was getting slated for work I had done. But the truth is sometimes a bitter pill to swallow and the feedback in this thread is saying loud and clear that for many people this patch is not just bad - it's game breaking.

CCP - I have no interest in avatars-in-space. If that's the route you plan on taking with EVE then fine, but let it be an optional extra - a button on the neocom/station services - something that doesn't get in the way of EVE.

Please CCP, allow us to select the old hanger, the CQ takes forever to load, has poor FPS, etc. The first day it came out, I unchecked "Load Station Environment", CQ was just not playable.

New turrets and CQ looks cool. I'm looking forward when I can walk in stations. Too bad that there is actually nothing to do in CQ now, so I got bored withing 20 minutes (15 of which I played with graphic settings) and disabled it. But there are several flaws that need to be addressed:

1. Using rendered icons for turrets is a bad idea. They are hard to distinguish in inventory, barely seen near your target icon in space. Better return old stylized icons or draw new matching the new appearance of the turrets.
2. We need a third state between "In space" and "In CQ". That is "In dock, boarded". When you dock you should appear in old good dock from where you can ether undock right away or disembark and enter CQ. There are several reasons for it:
- People often dock just to quickly refit or take/drop cargo and immediately undock, all within 30 sec session change timer. CQ makes this difficult, because it takes very long time to load compared to 30 seconds. You actually can access you inventory or fitting while CQ are still loading, but it is difficult to do anything, since everything lags, doesn't respond well, freezes for few seconds until CQ are fully loaded.
- Station is where people often go AFK or alt-tab to do something else. CQ are too "heavy" for you hardware compared to old dock, and hinder doing other resource-intensive tasks like watching video clips or playing World of Tanks. Add additional power consumption...
- I personally play 3 characters at the same time. When all of them are in dock, it is difficult to do inventory or productions task, since UI becomes less responsive. Really, under heavy load UI is hard to use - sometimes wrong menu item is clicked (previous one, where cursor was 0.2 seconds before I clicked), items sometimes ignore drag&drop or shift key, etc.
- From roleplaying point of view, you don't always leave your ship when docked, especially if you came just to take your cargo an leave.

I happen to like Incarna, but I'm not hard to please. I know change is hard for some, but remember this is a stepping stone to a greater vision for EvE.

CQ:
1) The lighting is still horrible. If facial features can't be lit up correctly (i.e. glowing eyelids and nostrils) then perhaps an option to adjust the lighting will help (like character pose lighting).
2) Love the screens! One could spend quite some time just watching the big main screen. Very immersive, although some customization would prove useful. The agent and corp finders are great. The Carbon UI needs better responsiveness.
** On a side note, placing station service buttons on the balcony UI (and/or screens) might be a good idea.
3) My guys really need a power-nap. Please make the bed/cot thing available for use!
4) Don't spin the camera when a character sits down on the couch. Vertigo!
5) If I want to see my avatar after docking I'd rather see a face, not the back of a head.
6) Better camera controls (more zoom options).
7) Windows! Having the same CQ pop up no matter where your at feels like groundhog day. At least Windows would remind us we aren't in Kansas any more.

Gun Turrets:
Looks really good overall. Salvaging in a Noctis has never been cooler.
1) Blue mining beams? Meh.. Miners love the gold!
2) Missile bays have been forsaken. Missile bay animation would be great eye candy. For that matter so would probes and drone bays.

Misc:
- Thank you for restoring the yellow HUD CAP!
- Rethink the apparel and Noble price thing. Hard. Clothing for the cost of 2 t3 ships will never work. The plausibility curve can't go down fast enough.

Overall, nice work. Looking forward to the tweeks and updates.

I love the new lasers, the gun animations and so.. Thank you ccp for that..

but ....

The module icons are worse, too smooth, too dark... screen design is not so good...

And to force me to be in a room if i am docked and not see my spaceship isn't a good game design idea.

I hope the nex, aurum etc. will be removed in the next patch ..

ccp please return to your old pathes of game design..

I look confidently to the next patch.

You simply need to clear you cache files in game to resolve that problem, this will include a client restart.

The turrets and and lasers are cool.

No problem running CQ on multi clients with 4 year old dual core PC and a $80 video card.

It got old after 5 minutes though and I found myself looking for Mass Effect 2. THAT'S how WIS should look and work ... unfortunately I didn't reinstall in when I bought the 1.5 TB HD. Where the hell is the disk anyway? Anyway I digress...

Client froze during a mission battle and ... then ... began ... to ... respond ... slowly. Cost me a drake. That kinda sucked. Don't know if it was the game or the above mentioned 4 year old PC's fault.

Looking forward to see what is coming up on new releases. Really like to see missile turrets instead of magically appearing from middle of ship.

I love it. Honestly I really do. I can see so much potential it will add to the game.

But you want feedback (Let's be clear, this is feedback not whining), so after spending a couple of days playing, here are my thoughts.

Docking. As everyone else has said. When you dock, it has to be to the old ship hanger. It has everything you need for a fast turnaround. If you want to CQ, you should specifically action it. Sufficient reasons have been given already.

Lighting. I'm super hot (in my eyes anyway). Yet due to the lighting, I'm only hot whilst stood on the balcony. The rest of the time I look like a wax dummy. Please review the lighting.

Graphics card settings. I consider myself extremely lucky that I can now use CQ at 30-50 fps. This is only because I've spent untold hours tweaking and adjusting every setting under the sun (thanks to all those who mentioned V-sync). Before I started down this route, I struggled to get 15fps (and I had a limp). I agree with others who suggest separate graphics settings for space and CQ.

General movement. Please go play some proper fps games to see how to control movement. There seems to be some work required here.
When I try to sit down, I can bring up the menu, but it doesn't work until I am stood an undefined (but close) distance from the couch. If I can bring up the menu at a distance, then pressing Sit should take me there and perform the action in one.
Why do I have the option to stand when I am stood already? Please filter to permissible actions only.

Agent finder. Nice. However, when I resize the Agent finder window. It doesn't change the number of matching agents visible. I get six matches. They just space themselves out. Please don't space them, try to fit as many agents on as possible.
The next and previous page buttons are too small, obscure and not obviously action buttons. Please enlarge and emphasize accordingly. This also applies to the filter options button.
Why have the agent level filter visible all the time whilst the other filters are hidden. Are the other filters of less importance? I'm not sure I understand your reasoning on this.

The TV. I really like this. But make it bigger. Give me a remote control. Let me create a channel list. It's the most important item in my quarters. Give me a channel to see outside station; to see outside other stations. I don't mind a monthly isk charge for this. But keep the prices sensible.

NEX. Everyone has already commented on the prices, so you don't need to hear it again. Although the rates do suit me. They ensure I will never spend real money buying vanity items. I know you've said it will never sell "I win Eve" items. Please keep this promise.

The new icons. I cannot tell what they are any more. My salvager icon appears as a small grey blob on what was the large grey background of space. Luckily my codebreaker still looks like a droid with a mohican. It just proves the old ones were better.

Capacitor and associated buttons. I know this isn't Incarna specific, but please take away all their transparency. If I am sat in a dust cloud that is lit by the sun, they are unreadable.

Finally. When I exit and enter my pod, am I naked on a metal grate gantry at the edge of my hanger? It's a bit voyeuristic considering "I'm a Lady you know." (Little Britain fans rejoice). Could I have my pod in another room, if only to protect my modesty.

I hope you take this feedback as positive. It is meant to be positive. I believe the direction you are taking has a great future.

On a 27'' iMac

Performance with 2 windowed clients in CQ is terrible, partly CCPs fault, partly my Macs fault.

My biggest issues:

-Walking in a Room Alone online is hardly immersive, especially when there is only one race of captains quarters in the whole universe, no matter what station you dock at.

Why did you even bother introducing it if it's still crap?
Only one race?
No racial variations?

I'd rather wait longer and have it introduced in it's entirety.

I walked around for two minutes... and then switched it off.

Now I'm greeted by:

-The same view of the same uninteresting Minmatar door that appears to be installed in every station in the known universe.

What?
Why can't I just have my old hangar and then choose to walk about when I feel like it (which I don't think I ever will)
You can't be serious about this stupid door... Don't you see how stupid it is?

NEX

-WHAT
-WHAT
-WHAT
-WHAT
-4 PLEXES FOR A VIRTUAL MONOCLE?
-WHAT
-WHAT

I'd rather buy a REAL monocle, a really expensive dinner for my wife, a new pair of shoes (good ones), a new graphics card or some lingerie... for myself.

It's not an ISK issue... even thought I really can't see why the hell a pair of boots should cost more than a Commandship, it's that CCP, one way or another, gets 4 PLEXes worth of cash from a virtual item.
This just seems like a complete money grab and a move in the totally wrong direction.

Fix core gameplay issues...

Have you seen what a joke the bounty system is?
Why are POSes still such a joke to look at?
I mean, the list is too long to whine about.

They're not "thelittlethings" anymore, they're the big things that people just put up with and forget about momentarily when you introduce new features.

This game is going down hill... It's definitely not dying... all the new things you promise keep the fanbois drooling, but it's definitely becoming a game that I care less and less about.

Let's hope that you catch a wake-up soon enough to save the space-ships and not let it turn into a mush of superficial features, empty promises, unfulfilling gameplay and the Sims.

Regards

Lag in Incursions when trying to gate jump got insane, due to the removal of the ability to NOT have to download portraits, and the massively fancier portraits.

Now lag in Incarna has gotten TOTALLY insane when trying to gate jump - I've seen a lot of instances where I'll finally get into the new system and I'll be 1 MILLION KM away from the gate in the new system, or be in the middle of the "you went LD" warp once I finally get to see anything in the new system.

Additionally, lag in station, lag UNDOCKING from station, and lag DOCKING to station have all gone through the roof, even with "load station environment" turned OFF.

Why are y'all constantly bragging about your efforts to reduce lag when the actual amount of lag keeps massively INCREASING?

As of right now, it's looking like Incarna is going to be even MORE of a waste than I thought it was going to be, and even more of a "worse than worthless" piece of crap than Incursions was.

I STILL want the ability to turn portraits off COMPLETELY.

New tutorial - suckage. No "turn it off" option and it IGNORES the ESC setup menu box that is SUPPOSED to control tutorials. I HATE wasting over a half hour to do this damned worthless thing that teaches me NOTHING about Eve after having played the game for years.

WHERE IS THE OPTOUT?

The whole move towards microtransactions. If it's for vanity stuff that doesn't affect gameplay, no biggie. If it's for stuff you can get via the market or contracts, no big deal - just a different way of doing the "buy plex, sell for in-game ISK and by fancy stuff" method.
If it has a noticeable effect on PLEX pricing, BIG DEAL. a lof ot us can only afford to play Eve at all because of the PLEX option, and PLEX have been getting mighty expensive of late ALREADY.
PLEX shouldn't be how to buy AUR, you should have AUR be buyable direcly for IRL cash if you're gonna do that stuff.

If AUR ever buys stuff that is unique, not buyable any other way, and HAS EFFECT ON THE GAME that can't be duplicated by ISK-buyable items, you will KILL EVE.

As a general rule, "move to a microtransatcion model" is seen by most MMORG players as a "this game is dying and getting desperate for any income it can come up with" move. See D&D Online for a prime example.

I know this will probably get lost in the thread and never seen by anyone -- but IMO I think that CCP should not be selling finished products in the market at all. Rather, ccp should only sell bpc. The more aur you spend the more runs on the bpc you get. The player who buys the bpc then has to go into the game and acquire the materials necessary to make the items through mining or pi or from mission drops. For instance, clothing would require textiles from pi and some minerals from mining (for belt buckles etc). In this way, CCP actually enhances the game play by promoting the economy.

okay

CQ - my general feeling is "meh" but future aditions will make it "wow", needs an independant graphics scale so those of us with not so hot machines can still play spaceships on high and have cq set on medium to get it running smoothish, the option to disable it needs to stay though to make it easy for those of us dual screening on older hardware.

Turrets - ****ing awsome, same goes for the change to sentry drones, didnt even notice the sentry change untill i did a mission in my navy geddon and saw the blue beams coming off the curators.

Maller hull - looks nice! but at the rate you are revamping hulls its going to take you about 30 years to do them all.

MT store - nothing wrong here if it stays with vanity items and the items are also tradable for isk, news letter indicates not though, and that is pure bull****.

CQ loads well for me and doesn't interfere, the loading is a little bit longer, but it doesn't get to a point where I get angry at it. the expansion looks well polished to me and the frame rate is good. Maybe your machine is getting old?
I applause CCP for getting better graphics in the game and hope it will continue at a good pace, cause we are in 2011 and many games shows incredible graphics. CCP must keep this game up to date, like it or not.
Walking in station was a natural move, and I just can't wait to interact with other pilots docked in my station. many new features will come out of this. I see it as a good thing.

EDIT:
After reading a leaked message from inside CCP, AUR must go.
nothing else to say.
I'm reconsidering my stay in the game even if my character is 3 years old

The "best" part about this change is that some of the icons are the same color as the background -- so when you look they dispear and you cant tell that you have any fitted at all.Rolling Eyes

oh and imo the new colors for the laser graphics are cheesy -- pink and purple -- like a laser show at the planetarium

CQ? Neat, 1 step closer to actually remembering there's a human in my internet spaceships
That there's only 1 CQ? Well um time constraints... it's uh... cool... I guess... yeah...
Complaints of loading times? I'm not seeing it, CQ runs and loads flawlessly on my machine, with no discernible difference in load time, you get a +1 internets CCP

New ship designs? Cool, always like new looks to my internet spaceships
That there's only 1 new ship design? Well um time constraints... it's uh... cool... I guess... yeah...

New turrets and animations? Well hot damn, now that's cool! And I'm loving it!
But wasn't this expansion all about CQ... um... CCP you should have named this expansion EVE: Pews With Looks to Kill
Complaints that they're different and hard to tell from a glance? HTFU, it just takes practice.

MT? Yeah...I don't even think I'm allowed to talk to you anymore CCP... You do realize I could buy a brand new fully released game, in a box, from an actual store, that actually is polished... FOR THE SAME PRICE AS YOUR VANITY ITEMS?! -1 gazillion internets :(

Here is how you might reduce the rage, and keep the AUR... Please read on.

The failure point was connecting the value to PLEX which most of your users regard as a direct link to real world cash.

You could fix (or could have avoided) this mess by connecting the value of AUR to ISK.

By making ISK convertable to AUR, you avoid the direct correlation to real world cash. However, in the background a player with real world cash can still buy a PLEX, sell it for ISK and make AUR.

Your current needs would have been met, and I don't think the players would have found it as offensive, because we all know that PLEX already allows you to make an ISK injection.

Connnecting the value direct to PLEX however says to the player base "give us more money". Connecting it to ISK makes it a regular in game item that is available to the super rich... Much like a Dread (which is the price point many threads keep referencing).

Hope that helps! Hope you find a way out of this little mess you've created, because I love the game and would hate to see it fail on something rather insignificant.
