This is to all the Fanboys, Starry Eyed Belivers and Wannabe CoolKids

Bitter vocal vets are in large part not against walking in stations and expanding Eve. They're upset because CCP went back on their word on a few things, Forced Wis and Micro-transactions.

Now add these on top of that:

A natural dissatisfaction that grows from the OverhypeTripe parade that never delivers - a core ingredient to being a bitter vet.

Scorpion Gate - The fact that CCP even contemplated the idea justifies every single MT fear anyone with an ounce of reason has about MTs.

3rd Party Monetization PR Blunder - I'll let the quote in big red letters, repeated often in the response to that blog, speak for it self.

Core Game play that has not been updated to overcome its short comings for a very very long time.

I could go on a bit longer, though I am loosing reasons to care. The short of it is, GleefulNoobs and SelfSureMiddles, that bitter vets don't hate Eve, they want it to be better, not only for them selves, but for you too. You can choose to be short sighted or perhaps do the wise thing and consider that bitter vets perhaps do have a point or two worth making.

As a player since castor.. iv learned to just stop believeing anything CCP says, and just wait for what comes. Its alwsys 99% not what they said in the bad direction anyway.

Player since castor, too (well, with breaks) - and I couldn't have said it better. Cool

The folks that are complaining are just people that enjoy complaining, nothing more. It has nothing to do with how long someone has been playing the game.

I'm sure there are a few vets and the like who actually have intelligence and can see the games flaws that blatantly need fixing.

HOWEVER, it is obvious that the vast majority of them want nothing more than shiny ships and special treatment for being on the game the longest and to be able to gank anyone with a month less account time than them and never have to put up any real fight in the process.

Lumping Bitter Vets with Theme Park Ticket Holders and Gankbears would be an error.

So you completely rule out the possibility - for the past, for now and for the future - that somebody could've a reasonable complaint? I think I can safely assume that makes you part of the glee parade. Want some tinsel to aid the festivities?

While I would never consider myself a fanboi I will freely admit to sincerely appreciating CCP compared to all the other MMOs I've ever played. Really, we don't realise just how lucky we are. Try playing Everquest and dealing with SOE.

ITT: Schopenhauer's The World as Will and Representation.

All bitter vets are pessimists... and I wouldn't have it any other way.

When I want to having fun playing a game, EVE-Online is very low on the list of pleasure-inducing candidates, I think I just play it out of daily habit.

At any rate, the Fanboys, Starry Eyed Believers, GleefulNoobs, SelfSureMiddles and Wannabe CoolKids fail to realise that all their fantasies of what EVE could be as a totally immersive MMO are impossible because of one fact, one unchangeable reality:

The biggest breaker of immersion (in this game) is human interaction.

There will always be some tard ruining your day, ruining your beautiful ship, destroying any delusions of success that you might have.

So why bother with useless immersion enhancing nonsense like walking in stations, realistic 3D avatars or (unrealistically) tight latex pants...

EVE-Online is a ****ing internet spaceships game. Treat it as such.

That is all.

Incarna will bring in more girls, which is why MT is such a hot topic. They need to get their shopping for new clothes done don't they? CPP, here's hint: shoes. Girls love to buy new shoes.

Just make sure you're back in my CQ kitchen when I get home from a hard day in space.

A lot of Bitter Vets do realize it, and that is partly why they are so passionate with their opinions and views. We don't raise our concerns because we are whiney brats, we raise our concerns because we realize there is something worth protecting.

Someone earlier in this thread said that some just want to complain cause they like it. That can be said for any classification we care to make, even those who complain about complaints. Those arguments are easy to spot and generally ignored, even by Bitter Vets, in the long run.

Gemini vet here btw, and so, so many times this.

I don't mind Incarna, as long as I have the option to leave the ship.

I actually don't mind MT, as long as it is for vanity only.

I do, however, mind the fact that there seems to be some lack of polish in the game lately.

Well I would be a fool to pass on free tinsel wouldn't I?

My point was directed towards the "general discussion QQer's" in reguards to Incarna. This isn't some game mechanic that just sprung out of thin air. CCP has been working towards avatar interaction for year's. It was bound to be introduced sooner or later. It has nothing to do with bitter vets or fanbois.

Vets have known about this for a long time... the people crapping out QQ's all the sudden are just QQer's. Real vet's to the game are not concerned.

I pretty much agree with Adunh here. It's not so much that I dislike the elements CCP are bringing to EVE (like Incarna, or MTs) its that these have been introduced ahead of many of the other aspects of EVE that needed re-working.

Dude, the character editor in it's current state isn't going to attract any girl. Everyone looks the same, there's like three base outfits.

And don't get me started on pink and unicorns...

Saying the bittervets whine just to whine is like saying a guy whose wife has been cheating on him for 8 years and won't stop whines just to whine. Perhaps we should take the advice that would be obvious in that situation?

Not to confuse bittervet with grizzled Vet.

I haven't seen a patch yet that didnt turn out to be more trouble for noobs than it did Vets but if the cheerleaders want us to be the enemy, I'm used to that and have over the years come to enjoy it. Usually because at the end of the day, I win and they lose.

I agree, Pre-Cu SWG had a thousand times more customisation options than most MMORPGs to date, even as a guy I find the lack of customisation available for the damn male Amarr to be absolutely awful, I'm in my 20's ffs let me have a young looking face!
