every single time the server is down for a minut over the expected time people spend every bit of it whining . play something els god dammit .. they have to patch a ton of codes and enything could go wrong in the process . giving us a eta is like looking into the future .. its not possible . its up when its up .. Im gettin rather sick and tired of inpatient people ruining a perfectly good forum with this kinda bs . New turrets .. captains quarters . and 100 fixes and adjustments no reason to cry just because you dident gett what you wished for this time .

No it's 9pm GMT.

It's British summer time at the moment, which means the time in Greenwich is GMT+1 so she's right in a roundabout way...

Actually GMT stand for Greenwich Mean Time and is based on the movement of the mean sun around the earth not on the time kept in Greenwich. So she's still wrong even in a roundabout way Wink

lol it would be nice if CCP do what i do at my job....when asked for an ETA i overestimate the time needed so when i finish early...my bosses are happy....this way not many people will be waiting around for anythingSmile

Right..so tell me Mr. Smug living in my parents basement why I need to know what time it is in London, or Berlin or Tokyo? Please explain. I live on the East Coast of the US - why do I possibly need to know what time it is there, when I live here?

To answer stupid questions of others who can not translate server time into local time, EVEN WHEN they are playing the game already for some time and would just need to remember the time difference from the server to their local time.
Furthermore it does help to have an idea about such topics to time your calls to your corp mates better and stop waking them up ;-)

Just here to state a fact.

Yet again its the yanks who get the first look into the new gameplay, CCP make damn sure Europe anything above GMT -5 get ****ED on patch day.

This. Any major IT upgrade never goes as planned. At my work, patches of our SAP system took 30 hours instead of 24. Not because our IT department stinks, $#!^ happens.

Canadians get the first look too. No, I'm not rubbing it in.

Dear CPP,

I wouldn't be asking you if I didn't need it. I want EVE ONLINE. I want my box. I want my mirror. I want my TV. You fail to give me those basic requirements, so until you can give me my box, you don't deserve to call yourself a game development company/

Ah so utterly wrong. CCP always fail at giving correct time estimations, It's so bad they've never been correct and on time for a major patch[ prove me wrong ;-) ]

CCP have a fricken TEST SERVER to test these things out in a very live environment do they not? Yet they are always getting it wrong on patch day.

If CCP was a major company which had many millions of people depending on its service and they acted this way time and time again the company would go bankrupt as it would lose its entire customer base.

I mean I've been at work all day I left the house at 8am GMT and got in for 6.15pm GMT I came in the house and ate my dinner and logged on the PC to see that once again CCP are failing to do as promised.

aah, i just wish CCP always added 25% to their expected downtime so that didn't have to extend it every time. They'd be doing themselves a favour cuz people are more likely to whine from broken "promises" than long expansion-downtimes.

Not going to prove you wrong: you have some points I agree with. Incarna's release date was pushed back previously to begin with.

Still, Bondeknold's point is valid. Even if we know CCP has trouble delivering on time, its up when it's up and we should go do something else. I went out for a jog in the valley nearby to pass some of the down time away.

HA my rule is to take the first EDE and add 25% and then double it so im guessing 07:00 UGT 22/06/2011

it's a scientific fact, straight through the middle runs the nought line of longitude. Alright, we put it there but it still stands - Great Britain is the Centre Of The Earth. And this means that we British are in charge of what time it is all over the world!

Ok for those at a loss as to what time UTC is, simply go into your Windows settings and adjust the time setting to a 24 hour time clock, and then adjust your time zone to UTC (universal coordinated time). Now your clock on your computer will match the EVE clock. Right now in Arizona its reading 18:48 UTC time....11:48 AM time locally.

Hope this helps.

BTW Coordinated Universal Time (abbreviated UTC) is the time standard by which the world regulates clocks and time- -and EVE servers run on. Computer servers, online services and other entities that rely on having a universally accepted time use UTC for that purpose. Not to be confused with Greenwich Mean Time.

comon people! dont be mad at ccp cuse of there lack of 'whatever they lack of to always mess the time up'' you should be glad! like my gf, She just love patch days, cuse she know that on big patch days there will be no eve playing!

So what i think, ccp know that people here lack of the little thing called' life ' and they wanna help us!

so while you wait for the server to come back on, take a look at this link and tell if this could be you?
