I am soo looking forward to Incarna, and have been since it was Ambulation/WIS.

I'm glad to finally see the first iterative steps finally arrive.

I hate making comparisons to other games. But look at games like Mass Effect 2. The personal quarters there are pretty darn cool (and it has a bathroom!) So many insanely awesome interiors to look at throughout the giant 5-deck 200m+ long Normandy-2 starship.

Seriously tho, why this is the main 'feature' of Incarna (and why all 4 motel rooms couldn't be finished by now) is beyond me. Beautiful it is, yes -- but me thinks there's a very small handful of designers and artists working on it entirely, the main drive of Incarna which adds 100% nothing to the actual game itself, except barbie - and we get 1/4 of it.

I am however thrilled at all the new turret models, animations and the ability to place your turrets exactly where you want by particular hardpoints. Oh yes, salvager and tractor beam turrets too =)

Eve is something that rewards patience while playing the game, and while waiting for updates for the game. Though CCP is lucky that me and a lot of players are quite patient, I'd at least enjoy being surprised on occasion thinking something like, "They finished that already? sweet!"

That'll be the day =/

I've been looking forward to WIS/Ambulation/Incarna for a long time.

...It's not going to happen.

What we're getting tomorrow is a motel room masquerading as a capsuleer's Captain's Quarters.
Inexplicably, every capsuleer at every station in New Eden is going to have a Minmatar motel room for the first few weeks at least.
Every capsuleer in New Eden must decant every single time they dock, no matter where they're docking or why.
For a while, all capsuleers will be decanting on a narrow metal walkway outside their motel room, in full view of their entire hangar. Snipers of New Eden, rejoice! Pharmacies selling tetanus treatments, rejoice!

We've all seen how reliable "iteration" is (examples: FW, PI).

I have no doubt that eventually we'll have all four CQs and, in the very long term, some multiplayer stuff. But it will all be as ill-considered as the first iteration, and the sum will be so much less than what it could have been with a few small changes.

Incarna is stillborn. What was originally intended to enhance immersion is instead damaging immersion, and as usual, CCP has been too excited about their broken, degenerate output to consider any feedback they don't like.

i mad? Maybe. In any case, as far as this thread is concerned I'm done begging at CCP's feet for a table scrap of sensible design, namely this button: "Leave Pod"

Well, I'm in for the 20 years so I see it coming in baby steps. But this Minmatar thing is a drag. Maybe only because I'm Amarr and we used slaves to build all the motel rooms, or maybe it is only because CCP only had enough digital duct tape and spare pixels to make Minmatar quarters. Sigh. But it's coming.

Want: Missile turrets and new effects
Want: New Nebula (they did say this version yes)?

Still loving my tractor beams! giggle

But seriously now:

I'll reserve final judgement until I've replaced this rather archaic graphics card with one that can actually handle Incarna, but at the moment, the only thing I can definitively say is...

...Meh. Just, meh.

You know you are at your lowest when you wake up one morning locked in the most awful Minmatar motel room with a hangover so bad your fps drops by 2/3 just by moving around. Not to mention that damn mirror in the room created for the sole purpose of reminding you the clothes you are wearing are crap and that your should RMT new ones. With Aurum/Noble Exchange advertisements playing non-stop on the comm link. ugh

Yeah... Incarna! incarna... in...car... bah, never mind. Rolling Eyes

Nope.
I can't find a reference link, but new nebulae are not in the patch notes and it's common knowledge by now that they're not going to be part of "Incarna".

I'm eagerly awaiting the opportunity to replace my docked ship with a constant loading screen.

I'm one of the ones who will NEVER load CQ, given the option.

Hey it's this guy again! I can't help but think someone is constantly punching him in the knees as he sits at his computer furiously typing away, relieving, or at least attempting to relieve all of this rage he feels toward the development and progression of a game that is the vision of its developers.

Yeah, makes me wonder what you got goin on that makes you look forward to having a tacky cash shop attached to the sandbox.

Honestly, if CQ wasn't forced upon us, and the cashshop garbage were not part of this, many people would be ok with it. Add those two things with the horrid PR cluster cluck of the 3rd party monetization, and the now so called Scorpion-Gate ... customers have good reasons to be irked.

Getting tired of this whine. They will release the rest of the Quarters in subsequent patches, as well as other things to do in-station. The reason for releasing only one race's Quarters at the moment is to gauge how Tranquility will react/behave when tens of thousands of people use it. Easier to debug one, instead of all four at the same time.

Now Incarna will be mostly a technology expansion. Last patch, Incusrion 1.6, they deployed the new/revamped CarbonUI framework. In-between Incursion 1.6 and Incarna 1.0 they enable CarbonIO (See Dev Blog), which looks like it will alleviate some problems with fleet fight lag. In Incarna 1.0 they are adding the complete engine/system for walking around in stations, which they will expand upon in the future.

Yes, there are things in this game that still need fixing, but those things are not going entirely ignored by CCP. Read the CSM minutes and actually read CCP's posts. Fixes will come as developer time allows, and as solutions are presented.

Now, I ask you and everybody else who complains about the first patch of this expansion, what would you rather have CCP fix/release instead of Incarna?

Some unacceptable answers:
- Bots / Carebears / RMT
- Faction Warfare (Discussed to death, suggestions and ideas are being taken by CCP.)
- Blobs / Lag / Fleet Fights (CCP is already working to optimize what can be optimized. Unfortunately though, blobbers are going to blob if they can.)

EDIT: Reply to this Quote

It's not being forced upon you, you still have the option to disable the station environment, or quit playing.

You don't have to spend Aurum to obtain the items in the Nexus shop, they will be available on the market from other players.

Monetizing 3rd Party Apps is necessary and really shouldn't be a problem at only $99 a year. This works in multiple ways and can be both good and bad. It's good for 3rd Party App developers, because it gives them permission to charge for the apps they create. CCP is only doing this so that they can keep track on how the services they provide, like the EVE API, are being used.

You can still apply for a non-commercial license, and not have to pay a penny, as long as you are not profiting from the website/application.

Helps with PvP, does that do something for gameplay?

It shows you what guns their using to what seems to be a more granular level. And it shows you if they have weapons offline of are about to enter warp as the turrets pack themselves away for both of these events.

Looking forward to seeing some missile turrets as well though.
