OS version: Windows XP sp3
CPU: AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 5000+, MMX, 3DNow (2 CPUs), ~2.6GHz
GPU: GeForce 9800 GT
RAM: 2046MB RAM
multiple clients: no
graphic settings for client: high

User experience:
- Did not record FPS, despite high graphic settings the battle was somewhat playable
- comparison to TQ: 7 (better than tranquility)
- docking at station: 25 seconds to initiate docking ("you are cleared for docking in 30 seconds"), 20 seconds to load station interior (graphic settings high)
- I suffered two client crashes, once when warping to the pos, with a blackout screen preceding the crash, the grid did not load;
second time after rats were spawned at planet 1. The second crash was preceded by: nonfunctioning speed display(showed 0m/s speed at all times), selected item window non-functional (showing no target selected no matter what I clicked), overview window lagging badly, rats showing up as white icons in overview.

Overall the grids were laggy but noticeably better than tranquility when having similar amount of ships on grid. One suggestion: in the fleet broadcast history, it should be possible to filter target broadcasts and calls for armor/shield from each other. Having them both appear at same window makes targeting the broadcasted targets nearly impossible, when the history rolls very fast with the armor/shield requests.

edit: I have logs from the crashes, where/how do I send them?

N/A, never been involved in a fleet fight involving more then 40 people on tq

How long did it take to dock at the station in X-BV98?
91 seconds from hitting dock to loading fully in station

Did you experience any disconnects, complete freezes or crashes?
When i landed on grid at the pos bash, my game froze for a good 40-50 seconds, but other then that it was fine (if you count sub 2 fps the entire test as fine ^^)

Describe your experience, make comments, suggestions, etc.:
Whilest in the fleet fight and fighting npcs, modules became very.. clunky. my guns cycled 4 times and only one volley was actually fired.

On a scale of 1-10, how would you compare FPS and performance between this test and TQ? (1=way worse, 5=same, 10=OMG this is awesome) Don't have anything similar to compare with on TQ

How long did it take to dock at the station in X-BV98? about 20-30 seconds in space, then a couple seconds of loading, but I have station environment turned off

Did you experience any disconnects, complete freezes or crashes? no

Describe your experience, make comments, suggestions, etc.: Definitely noticably clunky, 20-30 sec delays on jump through gates/docking etc. Game was unplayable until I turned off weapon effects. Otherwise it was ok, in the actual battle there was about 2-3 second lag time, which for me is acceptable for a large scale mmo battle.

Average FPS during fight at the gate in Poitot, with brackets disabled -

Zoomed in: 5-8 fps

On a scale of 1-10, how would you compare FPS and performance between this test and TQ? (1=way worse, 5=same, 10=OMG this is awesome) 6? 7? I don't have a ton of big fleet fight experience on TQ.

How long did it take to dock at the station in X-BV98? First it took 8 seconds after my docking request was accepted but before space disappeared. Then another 13 seconds before the interior was fully loaded.

Did you experience any disconnects, complete freezes or crashes? No.

Describe your experience, make comments, suggestions, etc.: Best performance of any mass test I've participated in. Fleet fight at the gate in poitot was still laggy and weird, though. For example, I was primaried during the fight (but survived due to the awesome fleet X logistics support, woot!) and after the cease fire was called I stopped taking damage (according to my shield/armor gauges) but visually was still getting hit by all sorts of weapon effects for at least a couple of additional minutes.

OSX10.6.7

Processor Name: Intel Core i7
Processor Speed: 2.66 GHz
Number Of Processors: 1
Total Number Of Cores: 2
Memory: 8 g

NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M

1 client

Graphics all at lowest settings

Fps zoomed out: did not test (RL aggro)
zoomed in: 4 fps

1 to 10 scale: 6

Station docking: Did it 3 times. The first time was per mass test request.

1: Time space disappearing to CQ loaded: 16 seconds. An additional 16 sec was needed from "docking request accepted" to space disappearing.

2, 3 minutes later: Time space disappearing to CQ: 10 seconds. An additional 8 sec was needed from "docking request accepted" to space disappearing.

3, after the big boom: Time space disappearing to CQ: 5 seconds. An additional 7 sec was needed from "docking request accepted" to space disappearing.

Crashes/DCs: None

Issue: my guns got stuck shooting a couple of times, taking several cycles to stop, flashing red all the while. Also everything seems laggyer and clunkyer than the usual mass test, maybe because there were more people.

When I dock, I assume I just got out of the pod, so I should be standing just outside its hatch. There is insufficient time for me to get clean, dry, dressed, and walk up the stairs, even with the help of a nanite filled pod.

One time only at the mass undock from station in X-BV98

The total lack of disipline of other fleet members not listening to CCP (because of that I was unable to finish the mass test completly).
Anyways it was my first time so mass testing, in overall it was ok.
But CCP must make the hamer of god biggerRazz, to take over ships when a cease fire is called and mass stop all guns drones and so on.

Slight lag in the fights while receiving broadcasts ( can we get the separate broadcast box back ).

Under Triage only 6 targets could be locked instead of the full 10 ( ship targets 6 triage mod + 4 = 10 ).

CCP Masterplan please get something better than a drake you are ccp after all Rolling EyesRolling EyesRolling Eyes

Machine Info and Settings

  • OS version: Windows 7 64 bit

  • CPU: Intel Core i7-860 @ 2.8 Ghz

  • GPU: 2x HD6850 in Crossfire

  • RAM: 8 GB

  • Were you running more than one EVE client? How many?: no

  • Graphic setting of the client (low / medium / high): high (maximum on everything)

User Experience

  • Average FPS during fight at the gate in Poitot, with brackets disabled - Zoomed out: 10 fps

    • Zoomed in: 7 fps

  • On a scale of 1-10, how would you compare FPS and performance between this test and TQ? (1=way worse, 5=same, 10=OMG this is awesome): I have no sufficiently large comparison on TQ

  • How long did it take to dock at the station in X-BV98?: over a minute from docking request to actually being docked. Space-view to station-view took only a second (I had loading of CQ/station environment disabled).

  • Did you experience any disconnects, complete freezes or crashes?: none

  • Describe your experience, make comments, suggestions, etc.: Some module lag but not too bad. Overview was a mess despite showing only ships. Survived Masterplan's vicious smartbomb by being at 80 kilometers. Quite a lot of graphics glitches in space and CQ that can not be blamed on GPU stress or lag (will file bug report later, getting it on TQ client too now).

* On a scale of 1-10, how would you compare FPS and performance between this test and TQ? (1=way worse, 5=same, 10=OMG this is awesome) N/A Qualified by not having experienced comparable No. of ships in similar proximity to each other on TQ

* How long did it take to dock at the station in X-BV98? 20 sec

* Did you experience any disconnects, complete freezes or crashes? 2 x Client crashes: 1: jumping from X-BV98 to Poitot; 2: warping to POS shoot after un-docking

* Describe your experience, make comments, suggestions, etc.: Better than last test participated in: able to lock 4 successive fc designated targets, shoot and see damage accruing, see damage received notifications until lag invariably wins , black screen on un-docking from station for approx 30 seconds; receiving insurance email notifications whilst still showing some ship armour and hull left whilst waiting for the inevitable.

  • Don't do this sort of thing on TQ so can't comment
  • How long did it take to dock at the station in X-BV98?
  • I had load stations interior turned off. it took 31 seconds from it registering my docking request "Docking request accepted", to starting to load station. Loading the interior took a further 5 seconds.
  • Did you experience any disconnects, complete freezes or crashes?
  • Nope
  • Describe your experience, make comments, suggestions, etc.:

I had my overview slightly better setup for this this time around, and had brackets turned off, so I had better performance than last time around.

I was caught off guard by the NPC's, I wasn't expecting them so my overview was not showing them, more of a heads up that we were warping to a Sansha site would have been helpful.

More CCP communication would have been helpful, specifically on voice. Having one CCP bod per fleet giving voice commands and updates would have been enormously helpful.

The people who couldn't stop themselves smart bombing everything in sight were as annoying as ever. some clearer comms from the devs as to what was happening might have reduced that... possibly. When in doubt, in eve most people default to shooting everything in sight, so constant voice comms telling us what was going on and what we were going to do next might help with that.

I know that these tests are scheduled late, but having a few devs around at the end to chat about the current test build and features would be a nice way for you to get instant feedback, and better communicate with us.

My one major thought was that its really annoying to go through a gate at max zoom, only to reappear on the other side 500 meters from your ship in the middle of a multi hundred man gate camp and totally lag out.... It's annoying in general to have the zoom level constantly resetting itself... If it could be made to stay what you want after jumps and such (and preferably remember the settings for each ship individually...) That would be good.

Went back to playing with CQ after the test... with minimum graphics settings, I got exactly the same fps as with high, and my CPU wouldn't go below 80% just standing still, with my fans on my cpu and gpu going into overload.... which they hadn't done at any point during the fleet test.

I usually play with things like Firefox, EFT, Mumble and windows media player on in the background...
for music, fittings, and such while I play...
I may kill some of those if I go on combat patrol, but if I am just mission/ratting, or some variant of station spinning, I like my music, and chat client...
I CANT have those on in the background if I load CQ....
So I won't be loading CQ...
If you force CQ, and I can't use those programs while playing...
I wont play...
Please keep the current hanger view, do something to CQ to lower the CPU/GPU requirements, especially on low settings, give us separate settings for space and CQ.

BTW the bug that has you get logged out while typing, then claim you are trying to post too fast when you try to post again, despite the first attempt failing cos you weren't logged in... very annoying, just saying.....
