If you know so much about investing then tell me which works out best for me?

Buying CCP
Buying a controlling Interest
Donating

Realistically? CCP is a private company, so you don't have the option of any of them except "donating". But since it is a for profit company an not a charity, you will get no tax benefit from doing so; And if you did anyway CCP doesnt have to listen to you or do as yu ask with the money.

Due to this my conclusion was that your best investment in this situation is to use the funds to seed your own company that competes directly with CCP, thereby making them start to worry about things like keeping customers happy. It would be the best way to troll them, improve eve, and also would give you the possibility of creating a title that you could make a return on your investment.

Since then is CCP a private company?

CCP has always been a privately held company. It's stock is not and has never been publicly traded, so you can not easily get your hands on any shares. Nor do they publish publicly available financial statements.

Strictly speaking, CCP does not have to be a for-profit business. They only have to be what their shareholders want them to be.

Correct.

By "private" I of course mean non-publicly stated through any of the secondary markets available to the general public, aka stock exchanges. I'm sure somewhere, somehow, they may exist in the pink sheets or some other form of availability if you have the right connections, but I also bet that its the sort of situation where you would have to both be a 'Sophisticated' AND an 'Accredited' investor - and yes, These are both legal terms - for such an offer to be made.

Suffice to say, the option I proposed - that you seed a company to troll/compete with CCP instead - is the best and most widely available option that will actually give you a return on your investment, even if it is only in lack of tax liability if you lose it all and the company goes ka-put.

And remember, I say this knowing more than I am comfortable saying.

Eve is dying and needs donations to buy funeral casket. Tickets to funeral service can be pre-oredered from Noble Exchange right after incarna release.

I bolded the parts where you failed,

Private owned, and share holders do not mix.

CCP is privately owned, and it will do whatever its owners want, there are no shareholders.

When making a large donation "advising" on the usage of your money is usually included in the smallprint.

With 600 devs to pay that works out at $100k per dev. Since the salaries are known to be pretty bad (50k per annum average?) and the overhead of admin, hosting their cluster, taxes, equipment yadda yadda yadda etc, I don't think they have much change left over at the end of the year.
