I believe that eve should have some services that requires to pay a daily or every hour of use fee in isk that can be offered by player cheaper. Adding things like a in-game eve fitting tool that cost 1m isk every 2 hours of use would help A LOTthe economy and also would help lazy players that dont want to minimize the game to use an eft. making the character customization cost something around 100k per use would help too.

Adding a casino with minigames, that cost isk.
adding a better npc locator that cost isk bassed in how good he is finding someone.
Ingame flash could cost 1m a day too use, etc.

Players provide more than enough ISK sinks. That being said, an in-game casino would be cool, but you'd have a ragefest over that one as it puts stuff into the game not generated by players, and takes away from players making ISK off 3rd party sites through these same means.

The funny part of that: All this rage over RL$$$ affecting the game, and we have 3rd party sites using RL $$$ to manipulate the in-game economy through ISK funnels and create fortunes for their admins. ..maybe that's ironic, and not really funny. I know I'm not laughing.

War and PVP are the best isk sinks. Hulkageddon is another great ISK sink.

The best ISK sink would be to make all the factions always be at war and nothing was ever safe. Kind of like Earth and Beyond (if im remembering that game correctly at all ...). But this will never happen as theres too many people too scared to do something that might result in losing a ship.

wars and pvp are nt isk sinks, they are isk faucet, isk pop out of nowhere from the insurance when a ship is destroyed. trading and the market is not an isk sink neither, isk isnt lost in the arket it is only transfered to another player.

Isk is generated from bounties, missions and from insurance but that isk stay with the players inflating the economy, the isk sinks that already exist, like P.I, 0.0 sov or lp stores, arent even close to be enough compared to the amount of isk generated every day. Thats why the game need more isk sinks to reduce or prevent inflation.

By making nearly everything on the market player-made, CCP has effectively removed almost all isk sinks from the game.

It's their own fault.

Make insurance pay out a new ship docked in station, instead of isk. There we go, turned a huge isk faucet into isk sink, while deflating material. Isk will be worth more.Laughing

remove recycling from the game. Your do not get to recycle and get mins from a 100 cruise missles.

Minerals should only come from mining.

You should be able to buy your standings like when the game first came out. Your standings should be able to to be 10.00

They should fix the bounty system where you can adjust peoples standings. You bounty a + character you can get lower standing but if you bounty a - player you would get + The cost of bounty whould be 1 billion isk or something high.

You know that CCP has actually hired two economists to handle the EVE economy? So if these guys say the isk sinks are fine, then I think I agree.

These aren't actually isk sinks. The isk still existed. You've just destroyed the ship. If I buy a ship for 50m and it gets blown up. The 50m is still out there. The ship worth that much is just gone.

Phantomshura thinks he has too much isk. You could send some to a deserving young lady like myself. Smile

The market is a pretty reasonable ISK sink as there is a transaction tax that while small it occurs on every purchase so is probably the largest sink in the game.

PvP in general is not an isk sink, the vast majority of the items destroyed are created by players and not purchased from an LP store. Insurance also in general is a faucet not a sink as it once more creates money from nothing, making it so insurance replaces the ship unfortunately causes a severe problem of ruining the player driven market unless the insurance purchases the ship from the market which defeats the whole attempt to turn it into an isk sink.

Casino mini-games of the potential as an effective sink.

I think better would be to work on controlling the faucets the number one of which is rat bounties, of course a valid alternative for a reward would have to be offered and finding one that would not cripple mining is difficult.

Insurance also should become prohibitively expensive if you have too much of a death wish in a certain amount of time. Again this is a difficult item to approach as it could discourage pvp.

Dominions Sovereignty is an effective ISK sink but sadly brutally unfair with the imbalance of regions wealth and peoples play styles.

CCP's economists have said that while inflation has not really been a problem so far the continuous influx of isk into the economy will eventually become an issue.
