Update at 01:51 UTC, June 16 2011: The CCP Security Task Force reports that all servers and services are functioning normally. Thanks again for your patience.
EVE Online and related services are currently experiencing service interruptions. We are working diligently to prevent further interruptions. Im in the UK and see through these forums that users are still able to log in, all i have for the last 50 mins since been kicked, is 'checking status'. Should TQ currently be accessible to me? |

It's another DDOS by Lulzsec, so likely it'll be pretty unstable for awhile as the ddos random kicks people and stalls out new logins. |

I'm new, for a month or so, and if this continues every single evening when i am about to start gaming, to escape from this world, in the game i am a legendary miner, they see me mining !!
If this continues, i will have to be forced to my normal social boring life.... No next month subscription from me. |

I agree sue the ****ing bastards for lost revenue. Right now tho CCP is doing the right thing, taking everything offline will just give LulzSec what they want. How ever I do expect some form of compensation from CCP when all this is over and done with |

No offense wrangler, but nobody here is dumb enough to think this is an intermittent server issue. We all know damn well this I'd another lulzsec attack. What we want to know is what are you doing to prevent this from becoming a daily occurrence. We deserve answers at this point as paying ccpgames customers. Response from Hillmar requested as to the future of attacks of this nature. |

How many SP do we get refunded if the EVE API goes down when we PAY for it?

Sue them? Perhaps if one knew who they were, one could do something about it... Realistically, these guys operate as ghosts. If they could be found, the FBI/CIA would already have taken them out I'm sure. |

Quote: CCP may, in its sole discretion, cease to provide any or all of the services offered in connection with EVE (including access to the System and any or all features or components of the Game), terminate the EULA, close all Accounts and cancel all of the rights granted to you under the EULA.
It could be a lot worse. |

It will be over once they realize they're doing nothing but putting themselves into danger of getting caught. I think this has been going on for so long just because most of them are too young to see that they aren't actually anonymous at all. Imho, they're youngbloods who just discovered all those little programs floating around the net and think they're "1337 h4(kz0rz", kind of like we all were when we were 20-30 years younger. |

Yeh, this is pretty crap CCP. Not your fault, but everytime u take the servers down, it encourages another attack the day after. If this keeps up, then it will be a good way for us to quit eve by going cold turkey Srsly though, this is two evenings lost for me (my prime time), so I hope you will be compensating us for this (thats what insurance is there for), otherwise I see little point in paying for something I cant play during my free time. |

You know, I get maybe 30 minutes to an hour on an evening to have a blast in EVE, unwinding time before I catch the zzz's!!!
Dammit, I demand that god / satan / carrot man or what ever you believe in, come alive and strike them down / set fire to them / stick a damn pointy orange tool in their buttocks.

Hey CCP, Can I ask what DDoS Countermeasures are being employed at the datacenter to counteract these attacks.
Contrary to the many 'Only counter to a DDoS is to pull the plug' ideas there are a good deal of alternatives, whats being done? |

I play a FPS online game called Deus Ex. Some years ago some noobs were DDoSing my server and others so a coder made a program which lolled at DDoS attacks and it worked 100% and still does.
Can CCP not make one? |

so does this mean besides the DDoS against the auth/login servers that lulzsec has also figured out that they can hit the databases with API query floods?

Nice one ccp for covering our accounts. The lulz.sec guys are being ******ed. Threterning online games is one thing but threaterning to go after the british healthcare system is crossing the line boys. CCP won't give sp for this at tbh it's not them causing the issues but maby they can look at there security features and try to counter this happening hight after nigh. |

It is indeed not CCP's fault, but some compensation needs to be made at some point.
Not only for the regular server crashes since 1.6 and the plethora of bugs it unleashed, but NOW the game is un-playable due to kiddie BotNet DDos crap, on an unprotected server, that CCP has had 8 YEARS of OUR money to have MAYBE configured a back-up server one would've thunk. |
