I've been flying my Hurricane for some time now and I wanna try something new.
Doesn't feel like I can develop my cane any further without going for faction modules and T2 artys.

So. The next step should logically be battleships and lvl4 missions i presume?
But I am very curious about the Jaguar and just continue my lvl3 mission journey.
The Hound and Cheetah seem like fun ships too so it won't take long time before I can fly them if I go for Jaguar.

Is it possible to solo lvl3 missions in a Jaguar?

I apologize for my rusty english. :-)

If your exclusively a PVE pilot, which is sad, then go for Battleships. But... If you do PVP or plan on PVPing, train for the Jag/Wolf. They are both great, and frigate warfare is the best place to learn PVP. (Get some kills with a Rifter first)

I plan on PvPing in the long run.
But, it is not recommended to use a Jag/Wolf for lvl3 missions?

Recommended to fly a lvl 3 in a jag? if you want to have fun, then yes. If you want to make isk fast, not so much. When it comes to pvp, both ships are useful but I personally use my Frigs a lot more than my BSs.

Train interceptors/interdictors, you can pvp in those for free in most corps. At least those with a half-decent replacement program.

I vote frigates if you plan to get into PvP. You get a lot more fun per skill point. By the time you put all the skill points you need into battleships and the large weapons to fly a marauder with tech 2 guns or missiles, you could be flying all of the tech 2 frigates for your chosen race at tech 2 ship skill level 4 and with tech 2 weapons plus some time left over for some support skills.

Various tech 2 frigates are very useful in PvP, while marauders are poorly suited to PvP and Black Ops battleships are very specialized and not really for direct combat.

PvE/Lvl 4s go Battleship. While some people still use BSes fleet in PvP, its not quite as common as it used to be.

For PvP, ditch the frigates and focus on T2 cruiser hulls and Battlecruisers. The ships you can fly with a frigate V pale in comparsion to the ships you can fly with cruiser V.

Isk / hour is terrible doing missions in frigs - unless you farm low tier sites etc for deadspace mods. The fact that you can complete missions in frigs, hacs etc and you are having fun doing so, has nothing to do with isk making efficiency.

You need a steady isk supply before you venture into PVP.

The actual performance gain for upgrading to a properly fitted / skilled BS from a T1 gun Artie-cane is simply enormous.

Lol. I try not to fit like a douche.

What exactly is Incursions? What are they like?
I've only heard stories from the elders, talking about the endless billions of isk they made from Incursions.
I must say that I am very curious about incursions. :-)

Since you're new, here's what to know about incursions : If there is one in the system where you are, leave.
That's about it.

Edit : are you in a corp / regularly missionning in groups ? If so the wolf (or jag) are half-decent at blowing frigates in L4 missions. You can assist a BS that way, particularly dominix's so they don't have to swap drones. A "fast" ship may also be useful at triggering things (Recon part2) or getting mission objects.
