Edited by: Mina Sulva''r on 10/06/2011 03:58:12You know developers, coders, programers, software-engineers, etc. have always been placed on a super-hero pedestal by me. I love gaming and these guys and gals are like rock stars...well more like movie stars to me. They are creators of something I very much love as a hobby.
Doom by ID was the first PC game I ever played....(ahm okay Outpost was), and its what got me into PC gaming over consoles (thank god).
Even though CCP holds a almost mystical, supernatural, divine spot as my favorite game company, John Carmack from Id has to be one of my favorite people to listen to when he gives a game related interview.
Hes speaking candidly with zero arrogance, and you can tell he really loves what he does. He doesnt talk down to the interviewer (even though the interviewer stumbles along with trying to ask competent questions). And though its an interview about Rage he doesnt try to hype it. As a matter of fact he doesnt even talk about all the "ground breaking" things Rage does different like most developers would, he really just talks about how his focus is on making the game more enjoyable, playable, and fun, without sacrificing quality.
He does such great interviews, and never once does he throw his intellect around.
He also gives some insight into what we
can should expect from PC games in the future, in terms of quality and playability.
John Carmack "Rage" interview. Enjoy!
