Is CCP going to break up Incarna into parts?

Or sure going to have one huge cluster 1%@#$@# on patch day again with a huge patch that will probably break for over half the users?

I mean even 1.6.1 didnt even install properly on a lot of machines, you had to run the repair tool. Personally I just assume download all the files separately put them in my eve folder and then run the repair tool. But then again that repair tool gets stuck in infinite loops too many times.

The feature site says nothing of it being broken up, seems like its going to be one huge expansion.

Everything on the web bage for the 21st deployment will be deployed on the 21st(people are complaining its not enough already).

I expect a BFF patch about 3 weeks after that and then a UI patch a couple weeks after that. As new things get ready for deployment they will be released.

Aura is a plus, I just wish that they would drop the 1.5 GB expansion into something more managable.

Look at how this 500 mb one broke into thousands of pieces and people are still having trouble installing it. Not breaking this up into parts is going to hit them hard.

Please break up incarna into 3 parts, so as to have minimal problems.

I wonder if my character will finally become visible in CQ, lol. I really like that officer-like jacket and skirt in AUR shop...

New Maller - hyped.
New turrets - super hyped.
CQ - more or less hyped, I'll wait for proper Caldari CQ before goin all bananas about it.
AUR - not quite hyped, but I WANT THIS.
Aura - hyped alright.
ECM changes - SUPER HYPED, just like all my ships in the hangar, though I'm moving to WH soon.

And Incarna will be chopped in parts, yes.

All the walking in stations crap is gonna make EVE such a huge initial D/L nobody is gonna want to play. :(
Nothing adds GBs like graphics content...

As CQ can be disabled now, the main damage control is already in place and I honestly believe that we actually can play some during the release wekk.

There will be some small tweaks tho.

I'm not usually prone to irrational hatred, but in your cases I'll make an exception.

New Maller - useless ship. don't care.
New turrets - nobody pvp's zoomed in. don't care.
CQ - not a new player - don't care. annoyed it will cause eve memory footprint to quadruple.
AUR - indifferent. I play eve for free. no plans to spend money on fluff.
Aura - see the bit about not being a new player. don't care.
ECM changes - what ecm changes? Shocked

I think the main point is, ccp's autopatcher and the offline patcher still have a lot to be desired in functionality.

If you look at the 1.6 issues thread, there are lots of, file mismatches, crc check fails, and other random errors that prevent the expansion from being installed properly.

Even if you can turn off WIS, you still HAVE to download all the content. At this point ccp should be sending out full client dvds or make it more easily available as now eve is getting too big to download and huge downloads will turn people away.

The funny part is it spilt into 3 parts. part one is CQ.

LoL I would rather have CQ last and all the fixes first, like with incursion.

Or you know download 1-2 files with the fixes, then part 2 dl 1-2 more files with CQ and finally part 3 the last of CQ and making it work.

I get about 8-8,5 MBps during peak patch hours, what does that go down to? 4-4,5 minutes?

Ai Mei you may be interested in reading this dev blog by CCP Zulu. In it he talks about how Incarna is being published in parts and why.

Ah, excellent. So the assurance that Incarna, or more specifically, the Captain's Quarters/docking, would be optional, was a total lie on the part of CCP, right?

They have always said it would be optional, the same way PI is optional, WH exploration is optional, mining is optional etc. You don't have to do it, but it is extra gameplay.

And last time I looked, you can disable CQ loading up when you dock.

No option is an option I guess.
