Gisti B-Type and Pithi C-Type Small Shield boosters used to sell for 20-30million - now the price is up around 75million. There's no equivalent of market history for contracts so I don't have any idea if this was a fast or a slow change. So - has anyone been paing attention and got an theories?

haven't been paying attention but the directions you want to think along are:

supply - maybe some connection to the war in the north?

demand - these boosters are mostly used in Hulks; maybe some connection to bot bannings? (last Hulkageddon was towards the end of February - if you find any price data it would be interesting to see if some part of the increase in prices dates back to that date)

Sure I'd alredu thought of these possibilities, and there's also the hulk pilots getting killed by sansha incursions, the thing that prompted me to ask was when I found a dozen or so of these in hangars all over new Eden that had all been salvaged from the belts in Incursion constellations.

I was also wondering if there was perhaps some supply side problem that might be a consequence of ccp's work on adding 'missing' deapspace plexs. I know they weren't supposed to be messing existing ones, but accidents do happen.

This. Not sure about Gist, but expect Gurista deadspace modules to be under supply pressure for a while going forward.

There are about 8 0.0 regions where Gurista rats are farmed and most all of those regions were safely under the NC BFF umbrella. So called carebear land.

The current war has lead to major instability and for the time being Guristas plexes are not being run outside of DC space.

Seller's market.

Two things.

1) People figured out that Tengus are great with single or dual small shield boosters
2) The NC's problems with the current war has reduced supply

But... don't these boosters only drop in 1/10 and 2/10 Guristas and Angel Plexs - which in turn are only found in empire.

Now... I can imagine that the NC problems are cutting down on the supply of larger modules, but I don;t think you can even get these plex's spawning in 0.0. (I could be wrong on this)

These boosters (Gisti and Pithi) usually drop in high sec and some low sec static plexes so 0.0 politics does not matter at all with them. I haven't checked their current prices but gistii b-type used to hang around 28 to 35 million selling price in contracts and Pithi c-type was around 50 to 70 million selling price in contracts.

If there is any major changes in their prices then some one is manipulating them. I have seen people manipulate their prices and make decent profit out of it. Just wait for a while and the prices will slash down.

There was a time when pithi c-type shield booster was around 10 mill a piece and its B-type was around 20 million but that was several years in past.

Nope, speculation.

Or the tengu pilots who buy those are total dumb.
