HORRIFYING NEWS!

Amazing and horrifying news reaches Gutter Press!

Tristan Broussard, one of the leading lights of the Federal Social Democratic Party, has met an untimely end!

Gutter Press was in communication with the deceased politician, who had revealed some incredible news about one of their rivals, Ammentio Oinkelmar and their party, the Gallente Independent Progressive Alternative!

Shocking!

Tristan Broussard said that he "was given startling information from Ammentio Oinkelmar about several taboo topics, including drug use, the establishment of capsuleers as a separate class, and GIPA policies that would benefit only Oinkelmar and his cronies. I had to act the part to get it out of him, but I got it.

I have logs, and if you are willing to publish this story, I can provide them. Hopefully this can shine light on what GIPA really intends to do".

Incredible!

In a recent conversation, more astonishing facts were revealed, including fears for his safety!

Quote:
Tristan Broussard > I investigated into Ammentio Oinkelmar's actions on a personal level. Something about him didn't go well with me. I'm not sure about your thoughts on the man, but I took the risk and decided to go about learning about his true motivations. And what came out of it was disturbing.
Muck Raker > Disturbing, I see. You mentioned corruption and cronyism, yes? The Federal Public has never been enamoured of such things.
Tristan Broussard > The quintessential Federation politician with a habit of exchanging drugs, forming policies to complement his elitist friends and advisors, and offering to give our party power in exchange for business incentives. That is what he is, and he must not force his beliefs upon the people. In terms you can understand, it's scandal-filled and will generate much controversy.
Muck Raker > Indeed.
Tristan Broussard > I am waiting for a news organization to publish the logs and story before your people add your spin on this, for my own sake; people won't consider it news until it's published by the proper sources.
Tristan Broussard > No offense.

And now Tristan Broussard has passed away, in a "cloning accident", before the explosive secrets in the logs could be revealed!

Astonishing!

Tristan Broussard was aware of the dangers he faced:
Quote:
Tristan Broussard > Any possible hints will spook Oinkelmar.

And he has seemingly now paid the ultimate price for combating corruption and cronyism!

Now none remain to challenge Ammentio Oinkelmar and his corrupt cronyist conspiracy!

Quote:
Tristan Broussard > His war is laughable. His party is political, not military-based. He does not have a chance against them, either with his own hired PMCs or public support. This story will allow for his party and him personally to suffer. Anyone who supports him afterwards will be deemed foolish. It will expose his typical profits over people mentality.

Scandalous!

We asked a top Federal Intelligence agent for their opinion on the assassination of Tristan Broussard.

"Nobody sent you? I only work with people I trust" was their reply!

A dark day for Federal Democracy indeed!

The very idea that Ammentio is somehow involved in this sorted affair is simply ludicrous. While I donít support his politics I know Ammentio fairly well, he is a fair and decent man. I cannot say the same about Mr. Broussard.

Speak well of the dead. And yes, I'm sure a representative of the Moira Corporation would be a supporter of corruption in all its forms.

~snorts~ I speak for no one but myself, certainly not Moira, an organization I joined only recently and have no standing in. You however seem by your comment to assume Ammentios guilt in this matter. From what I have heard in your comments elsewhere on IGS, making assumptions is about all you do. But that is all I will say on the matter to you.

Recent times have been very hard for me. I have been deeply saddened by the untimely death of my colleague M. Broussard, whom I had always considered to be an independent thinker and a fellow capsuleer. We used to work in Villore on the Senate Bureau station at the same time, and although we occasionally had lengthy discussions, I could never even think of violence or disgraceful gossip as a way to solve a political debate.

As if things weren't bad enough, the already depressing state of affairs is made even worse by the outrageous and horrifying false accusations which have been cast against me and the people I represent. As an answer to the mud-slinging can only offer my own perspective.

Let me be clear: these claims are factually incorrect, and clearly meant to deceive the public into believing that I would be guilty of committing an illegal act, or acting against the best interest of the Federation and its Citizens.

I myself have been completely open about my background. You should recognize that I'm just a simple, hard-working man whose only wish is to earn a modest living for my family and treat others with respect and kindness, to make the society a better place.

If someone has been offended by my frank way of putting things, for him I just have to offer my sincerest apologies. My now-deceased uncle used to say that "Honesty is the highest thing that man may keep." Like me, uncle used to be a straight-forward, practical kind of man, who never forgot to inspire hope in his fellow men, even when the times were hard. When I was raised up, I learned to respect and love individual freedom, truth and honesty, and it saddens me deeply to see that these values so deeply ingrained in me get so lightly tramped upon by my own countrymen.

But as I have always said, the freedom of opinion is one of the most fundamental rights of a citizen, even when the opinions are misleading.

Federation is the only light post of liberty and freedom we have, it is the colloquial merger of peoples, ideas and common dreams, the shimmering quasar of light in the midst of cold, dark void. Despite our numerous differences, we all have something in common, deep in our hearts. Our common values give us a solid ground to build upon. Even when we get attacked by some narrow-minded fugitives, with these values as our guidelines, we will always prevail, both as individuals and as a society.

The attacks against me, my values and ethics have left me worried, uneasy and depressed. Nevertheless, I would like to thank everybody who have stood by me during these difficult days. I also want to thank everyone who have expressed support for the efforts of our party to continue working for the benefit of the Federation. It is your dedication and concern for your fellow men which makes the Federation the wonderful place it is.

Now, I have to go back to work on my speech on the evils of taxation. I worked on it until pretty late last night. But I want to say one thing to the readers of the Gutter Press. I want you to listen to me. I'm going to say this again: I always act in the best interest of the whole Federation, I did not murder M. Tristan Broussard, and I have never exchanged illegal drugs, not a single time; never. These allegations are false. And now I need to go back to work for the Federation. Thank you.

Correct, M. Galente. The discussion between Mlle. Raker and late M. Broussard contains many confusing and false claims but I deny each and every one of them. Perhaps the weakness that eventually made M. Broussard to lose his life during the cloning process had already taken hold of him and forced him to spew out such venom during the interview.

I have always been in favour of helping the underdogs, encouraging people to keep their senses clear and treating everyone with equal respect, even when it requires sacrificing a splash of profit or swimming against the stream. These principles have earned me many enemies, but I will continue to stand strong and defend my conviction, for it is the only way things can ever get better.

Well before I can say anything further (as I only have to go by what the Press and what you say), and I know who you are and who you stand behind, perhaps my next course of action should be to determine if this 'Press' has any sort of bias. For example. who pays their payroll? This should get interesting.

Then I must have dreamt that quiet and concealed meeting we had.

If your colleague, who you were working alongside and who put us in contact hadn't been murdered, I would have kept quiet about this.

However, since it seems that you're into underhanded foul play, maybe we should have a second meeting to discuss your options.

After all, you wouldn't want me to blow the lid on everything I've found out about you, would you?

Offer is on the table, Oinkelmar. You know who to call.

Our article, as can be clearly seen by the question mark in the title, merely reports that allegations have been made, not that Gutter Press supports the allegations.

In any case, let us review the facts:

1. Tristan Broussard was a politician.

2. He was opposed to the GIPA.

3. He contacted us, claiming to have sensational evidence.

4. He was greatly concerned about his safety.

5. He seemingly dies before revealing any factual evidence, under highly suspicious circumstances.

6. The Federation Intelligence Office, and other Federal agencies are attempting to cover everything up.

Now then, these are facts, and are undisputable.

Ammentio Oinkelmar may be entirely innocent of the allegations, or of any involvement, but there is a lot of evidence pointing at him.

Something smells here, and it smells like a crate of frozen Luminaire skippers left out in the sun for a week.

Private citizens? So it is independent of the Gallente Federation as a whole? Something tells me neither of these sources (Gutter Press and Ammentio Oinkelmar) are unbiased.

Private citizens, as in meaning simply a group of active citizens, participating in the finest traditions of the Federation, i.e. uncovering injustices across the cluster.

We explicitly deny being an arms-reach outlet for news that e.g. The Scope finds too controversial. Or any other such agencies of the Federation itself. Such allegations are ludicrous.

If there is any bias to Gutter Press (as some scurrilous rumour mongers put out, alleging anti-Caldari Menace bias), then it is biased in the favour of Truth.
