According to Aurua they had to euthanize your old body for them to install new implants into the current clone. So if you go back to the argument that teleporters and cloning kills people and the new 'clone' or rearranged structure is simply another exisitence with that memory.

I wonder how this will effect the lore buffs of eve.

Actually its relevant to the primary subject of the 'transferal of soul' technically the cloning process in eve means your old self dies and your concinous does not transfer to the new body but instead thats an entirely new life with your memories. This is a similar argument made with teleporters where your body is completely destroyed and then put back together thus you die there as well and the thing on the other side? is it you?

i was thinking this last night

Othar 1 dies Mind goes TO Othar 2

Othar 2 wakes up and dam never do that again!

but Othar 2 just has othar's 1 memories!!

so in the end .. YOU DO DIE ....its just are memories don't ....

this scares me :( just like the Teleporting ...kills me then remakes me ...am dead ..but then am not its another COPY !! :( grr

Oh. Okay, so that is what you meant.

Yeah some say it is your memory in a new body, some say it is a new life... it's all just different interpretations of meanings of words or technical details really, it doesn't change the fact that "you" never "die"<--as in "your personality your consciousness your memories" "keeps running normally"...

These questions are only valid if you feel that consciousness exist outside our physical state.
That is, the mind is seperate from our actual body.

The argument for teleportation has forever been (if it works) that the source control must die.
Teleportation by most is thought to be some form of physical disassembly and reassembly at another location, but the actual physical material need not be the same.

I think eve works more off of the view that your "clone" is tied to you at all times, and any chemical updates (memory) is passed from one body to the next.
The issues with eve's view is that even if the clones were kept in some sort of stasis or comatose state that they would still dream, and thus their memory would be different. (Dreams reinforce our daily experiences and help our memory).

Eve is just a game...

yup, and if you dig deeper some people say what happens with the theory of teleportation also happens when you go to sleep every night when you enter REM sleep! So when you wake up your cells are fresh cells, with the same memories. ARE YOU STILL YOU! Shocked

Sounded a little bit more like Fight Club and Apocalypse Now. Or it could be Buddhism without the whole karma thing, or the aversion to eating cows...delicious murder.

Think bigger!!! Your mind spans the universe, if one of your bodies dies, it just a part of your brain material being destroyed.
It's not how it is in the lore but it should be.

One scientist defined sentince as as the ability for objects to cooperate with each other and had a nice mathetmatical formula in it, but by his definition atoms would have a level of sentince.

The 'cannot step in the same river twice' is the Ancient Greek philosopher Heracli tus. He was also famous for the phrase 'panta rhei', which is also referred to by the 'everything is changing. Everything is falling apart'.

Herac l i tus is way more badass than Buddhism, unfortunately most of his works were lost over the centuries.

Edit: Bloody stupid censor.

Yes, Aurua's voice is back for the tutorials and she goes off to say how they procedurally euthanized your previous body and asks you to get used to your new clone.
