Its all just an interesting thing for me . Imagining the price/volume curve is particularly interesting.

While one person's experience doesn't make a rule, do you think that you might sell a few less plex now that you get more for each one? Or does the great deal motivate you to buy more plex than before and get far more ?

if you wanted 1.2 billion isk,
would you have sold 4 at 300 million before,
and now sell 3 at 400 million each and use the last for game time

... or
do you still sell 4 and get 1.6 billion now ?
or...
do you buy 6 now because you get so much for them and get 2.4 billion ?

I kinda suspect most people in the habit of buying isk with plex just find the better rate a $ windfall, as they don't need to spend as much $ to fund pvp.

I drew some fancy charts on the though i had above on friday , but need to get on to rl stuff instead of going the last step.

I'm picturing a line of # of plex bought by isk/plex price doen't slope upward after a certain point but begins to edge downward as the price rises past a certain point.

That could create a negative fueling situation as demand for plex(plex that will be sold , not used for game time by original purchaser) in #'s might not fall quite as quickly as the # demanded at given prices.

This is a lose for ccp as they'd be selling less plex.. maybe 10% less at 430 than they would at 330... and they'd be disgruntling and driving away some partial (alt only) and full play to play players . This is also skews balance a bit for a 33% increase in isk gaind per plex but a 10% drop still means that plex sellers would be getting significantly more isk pushed their way ... and would be increasingly above those middle of the road players who pay for their pvp with pve but aren't so flush with isk that they have enough to play for free with. More unhappy players.

I don't think the happiness increase in those who pay $ for thier isk goes up enough to offset the gripes of the others ... they're more interested in pew pew and from their comments find both 1$ / hr and 2$/hour cost to save that time ratting as both hugely worth it in their boats... .35 cents is hardly the tail that wags the dog.

Started March 2010 with this account and in August I started first alt to be Orca driver, and from September onwards was paying for both with PLEX by only mining, PI, and missions.

Got into Manufacture (mistake !?!? lol) and started 3rd alt for PI and Combat with all 3 humming along on PLEX. Now I MUST take it back down to 2 as I can't afford to even replace an exploded Crane ATM.

Firstly: if you haven't success in some business it is normal to hold/stop this business. This is usual RL stuff. So if your 3rd alt doesn't make money (and even kills all profit from other 2) it is smart to hold/kill it.

You have other option: make him mission runner. That's what i made with my second alt (miner -> damage dealer).

200k for an undergraduate degree? Harvard's tuition is only 34k a year and I doubt you are going there.

Yeah I did that. I put two accounts on hold for now because I don't have much disposable income and play to pay but prices are insane right now. I was able to trade and pay for 3 accounts for awhile Very Happy

I'll make them mission runners when I get a better comp. Netbooks can't cut it for missions lulz.

Here is to hoping that plex prices rise above 450mil...

Now its 37k plus 14k room and board plus 3k health insurance fees. I don't think Harvard is a whole lot more expensive than other US universities in the top 50.
