Thinking about making a come back to the Amarr side. How is it currently in FW. I am just looking for good small scale PvP when I decide to log in. is it still Amarr in Huola and Minnie in Auga? Thanks in advance!

Its still good, currently a little slow but it should be picking back up soon with summer.

And yes, it is still predominantly Amarr in Huola and Minmatar in Auga.

How do you have a fleet set up for bashing a POS & have super caps on stand-by or maybe even on grid, yet fail to have any heavy dics floating around?

Laughing I was meaning the other side.. the CVA/Amarr guys, but guess I didn't word it correctly. I would think they knew it was gonna be a POS bash and caps would be involved (IE having carriers & SC's ready to cyno in).

Yet they had no supporting fleet and nothing to hold any of the apposing caps/sc on the field. I mean WTF bombers & punishers to support a cap gang?

I guess they killed a decent amount in the dreads, but seems likely would of came out better if they had a actual support gang on the field instead of a bunch of frigs..

edit..

btw why is u ice fire guys always ***** on your own loss mails. Is it some sort of lame attempt to negate KB efficiency, or are u really that hard up for KM stats..

In order to give you a straight forward and clear answer I would need to know what time zone you are in. If you are in the UK area then yeah it can be pretty dull.

But where I am on the east coast US things really start to pick up at around 9-10ish pm EST and last late into the night. Late night fleets are very fun and enjoyable.

I've been to gallente/caldari FW space before and it was very dull. There is a lot more bad blood between the minmatar and amarr and we get a lot more fights. You can expect on average a few good ones daily and once and a while you get the big fights with capital ships involved.

There seems to be an increasing amount of smaller gangs from both sides around. Late nite is when the bigger fights seem to happen, but looking at the kb, usually 2/3 in a night. The euro daytime/early evening is more one large sprawling series of mini fights, with lots of people around. It seems the amarr are being more cautious nowadays in this timezone, at least until Neph rolls them up into a ball and stomps around, but fresh blood in means that at least from our side things are more fun.

Particular thanks to Brutal Genesis who have moved into Sosala, and are happy engaging either 1v1 or in gangs.

Come back and visit :)

Also depends on what you're able/willing to fly. As an EU TZ Amarr it's hard to get a reasonable fight when flying T1 Frigs.

In my typical roams, most WTs I find are SBs missioning 200km off the entry point, so I can't catch them. Then there's the occasional non-cloaky mission gang of about 3 ships, which I can't handle as well. Anything actively looking for fights, will be at least a pimped T2 or faction frigate. Sometimes, I get desperate and attack them (*wave to Bob*), which doesn't end well. :D

Recently, there seems to be a trend of T3/BC hunting solo frigates, if you have a look at the non-blob fights on the killboard.

Though I have to say, I'm roaming the Amarr FW systems because the entry points to the Minnie FW systems are usually heavily camped, and I avoid Huola/Kourm/Aug. Might be a totally different experience there.

From my viewpoint, Minnies seem to have it a bit easier te get fights, because I see a lot of Amarr solo/duo pilots on my roams.

Because we all have tons of SP and ISK. Rolling Eyes

Many NEW FW pilots don't have these options. I recently bought a Malediction and a Vengeance, and fly them sometimes. But I can't really afford to lose them, so I'm too careful, which results in even less fights. I rather get combat experience in something I can replace.

I know, FW is a money making machine .. IF you can afford a SB/T3 and have some experience to actually get to the mission systems with them. Same theme as anywhere else in EVE, if you're rich, it's easy to get even more ISK. I'm not complaining, but my only income is some lousy low sec PI, which can hardly replace my T2 fitted Punishers.

Once again, not complaining. From the viewpoint of an inexperienced, 'low' skillpoint pilot not swimming in ISK, it's pretty much what you'll get.

I understand your Problem. We have new Pilots on our side aswell with the same Problem.
As i see it there are not enough really new players trying to pvp in t1 Frigs, so they only run into older Players who often cannot be bothered anymore to fly a Rifter or a Punisher. Also its still Faction-Frig online im afraid (Dramiel anyone ?).

Slicers in particular are everywhere from our viewpoint...its not that they are too hard to fight its just no Variation. And if its a T2 Frig its almost always a Vengeance aka "Mini-Cruiser".

Im afraid i dont have a Solution Confused

You really need to get into a corp which provides assistance to newer players. FW is no longer suitable for inexperienced players trying to pvp alone or in small groups. Find a corp that will help you get standings for missions, help with reimbursement and is prepared to take newer guys out on small gang roams.

If you are looking for combat experience in T1 frigs, your best bet is to ask for a 1v1.
I am happy to do so if you want :)

ROSS also has a number of new players that are also trying to learn, so I am sure if you contact any ROSS member and ask they will find someone that wants to do a 1v1 against you.

Pretty sure the TRIAD, WEAZL and CTRL-Q guys will also honour any arranged 1v1's. Just ask around

Really? That's pretty sad Sad I always thought that was the point of FW - if I wanted blob fests I'd go join a 0.0 alliance again. I've not done a lot of FW before but was thinking of signing up for solo / very small gang pvp opportunities - is that still feasible today?

You can find solo fights, if you're patient and can afford T2/faction frigates, because that's what you'll fight. Small gang depends on what's your limit for small. Usual WT fleets I meet are 10+.

Ok, it wasn't arranged. But I had a frustrating fight against a WEAZL Firetail yesterday. Just as I finally broke his shield tank, in swooped the thrasher backup and finished me off. I was at about 40% armor and still had some overheated rep-cycles left, with a lucky punch I may have got him.

Just my typical luck though. Got killed by a Taranis a few weeks ago, where he escaped with 20% structure. Sad

Solo and small gang is still perfectly feasible, just be ready to gtfo at a moments notice if local spikes.

The problem for newer players is that they stand little chance. T1 frigs are nowadays T2 fit with rigs as standard, usually pilots are using boosters, implants and very often alts are providing boosts in system.
Plexes used to be a safer place for them to try engaging, but the prevalence of faction/pirate frigs means that they can't even hide in minors anymore.

Add in the fact that there are large numbers of highly experienced players in FW, even older pilots are caught by surprise. With the new tutorial system pushing noobs into FW, they are often simply podded right out of the game before the end of their first month.

Sorry for forgetting AA San :) They are of course a bunch of good guys as well.

Without a scram fitted to your punisher, you had no chance. Firetail would have burnt out of range and left before dying, or changed to barrage. The thrasher was Sasawong, and was probably just passing and joined in. Don't engage firetails in punishers.

You might want to try the bleeder punisher instead which has at least a chance against other frigs, especially the active repping ones, link below:

http://www.minmatar-militia.org/kb/?a=kill_detail&kll_id=161348

You have many good frig pilots in amarr, ask them for some help.

The point was a "in-a-hurry-failfit". Grabbed J5 instead of a J5b. Only realized this after looking at the killmail.

I don't have any AC skills, so the bleeder is out of question. I also only have one Punisher left anyway. Then it's time for Vengeance. Wink

Yeah, my bad, dunno why I said bleeder, as they are not effective. The fit I linked is correct, cap out your opponent, preventing reps and gtfo ability ,just remember to overheat ab when they try to make range.

With that being said I could fly T2 fitted cruisers all day. Be effective and be able to lose them all day for about 2 years. That part is appealing even though I lvoe to fly t2 the thought of just getting into a t1 cruiser and pvping sounds great.
