Would it be at all possible to give the t2 mining vessels a crystal bay all its own, so that they are not in with the ore.

That would be awesome.

I don't fly them, but considering I've been supporting ammo bays for combat ships, I'll give this a thumbs-up.

option two would be reduce the cargo bay and introduce a big ore bay

example: current retriever - cargo bay 2000m3 new retriever - cargo bay (for crystals/looted items from rat wrecks) 500m3 ore bay 3000m3 + new low slot module - ore bay expanders + t2 variant

A brilliant idea that's overshadowed by the fact that the OP didn't post it in the proper forum sub-section.

Features and ideas discussion.

Many people would welcome a separate ammo/crystal space on all ships. It doesn't sound horrendously hard to implement.

You can swap crystals in flight without a fitting service. They are ammo.

The coding for this has mostly been done as part of the specialized bays introduced years ago. Then, as usual, with the people who prioritize these things no longer playing eve, the feature was abandoned and the guys involved all left CCP or moved on. Every ship in the game would have to be checked and ammo bays added and cargo bays reduced to compensate. This would take HOURS!!! Much harder would be finding a CCP dev who can be allocated to the task who knew what a capacitor charge was and why you need to balance for those.

We know that CCP employees have a "free account" to play the game. I'd love to see stats of the numbers of logged hours in each ship class for them. That would be a VERY valuable data mining exercise. Would it confirm or refute our suspicion that they as abandoned this game, as WE experience it, years ago.

Being able to split your carhohold would be handy anyway. For instance for ammo and boosters in one part and loot in the other. As your cargohold re-arranges everything with every jump it's often very annoying to have to sort it out again after docking.

An ammo bay would be nice, and in fact I'd like to see a tradeoff with ore bays, say have a 12,000m3 ore bay on a hulk, but make it so that it has a very small cargo bay, so you can't use it as a hauler for anything other than ore/minerals

As it stands now my hulk and my Itty 3 can carry about the same amount of stuff, and I wouldn't mind sacrificing the ability to haul with a mining ship for extra ore space.
