Step 1. Remove the 249km Locking Range

Step 2. Increase the base locking range of all Hybrid gun ships.

Step 3. Increase base optimal range for rail guns.

Figure out the outcome.

First, I imagine that removing the 249km limit might be harder than you make it sound. There may well be structural server reasons for it.

An easier way to achieve the same result, I think, is to shave like 10 or 15% off the top of every ship's max velocity.

I absolutely support a hybrid, especially a Rail Boost to give them some sniper ablility.

Be gentle, he is obviously new around these parts Very Happy

Would make sense prior to Dominion (or before that?), but with the last probing changes the further out you go the worse off you actually are .. 5s probe time, 5s warp time, 2s lock time -> you are dead.
Best sniper range is 120-150km now, far enough to be able to take out incoming tackle and close enough to make direct warp-to on probing hard'ish.
