Read the thread I linked in the post above yours. A lot of people in there have been smartbombing these fleets.

Also a lot of good advice being posted in there.

Plus, its in C&P, so a lot of people there who would be happy to answer a question like yours!

Good luck, and please report back in the C&P thread if you do suicide the fleet!

Good work, but your outrage at lack of action in not justified. You're (+others) are ganking them and forcing them to log off daily. Therefore when a GM looks at them they are not doing anything suspicious.

Inb4 OP gets banned for harrassment, and bots are reimbursed.

This. Duh.

It's hard to find a repeatable bot-like pattern over a period of days once you've announced to C&P that there are easy ganking targets.

Anyone ever consider what would happen to the mineral prices if CCP were able to find and ban all bot accounts?
I suspect there is an inordinately large percentage of mining toons that bot.

But I think CCP has a good handle on how the economics work and if you think the complaining going on in this little thread is anything then wait til you see people like me whine about the costs tripling for T1 frigs/cruiser/BS because the supply of minerals suddenly dropped.

Never read the EULA so don't know if botting is truly against the rules or not.
I see what I believe is evidence of botting all the time but honestly don't care.

Take an economics class and report back at the end of the semester. A little knowledge can be a good thing.

CCP makes money from macro users, hence they don't care.

CCP Accounts department vs. CCP Game Developers. That's the real battle.

Looks like you found a way to keep them from making ISK. Keep up the good work!

Thereby keeping himself from making ISK also. Terribad for the game.

Only not making ISK for the 18 hours he's not playing the game.

They would rise to the point at which mining could earn a Hulk pilot about 10M ISK/hr, at which point every carebear with a Hulk fleet sitting in the hangar would be out mining. As prices rise, people will be flocking to the money-making activity.

It sounds to me like the EVE community at large needs to decide what they hate more. Macro farmers or carebears because if they did kill all the macro farmers, it would be the notorious carebear that would replace them and last I checked, EVE doesn't really have much respect for them either.

All that e-peen aside, as a carebear I can tell you I wouldn't do most of the stuff these guys macro off. It's boring, unrewarding and lacks any level of incentive. One would be forced to conclude EVE was actually designed to be macro farmed.

Won't happen. Such a large group cannot, by CCP's own definition, be harassed.

Also, an individual must ask for it to stop before it can be harassment (though this is a grey area with some GMs).

Everyone is a carebear in EvE like it or not.

You can't war declare them, they'll re-form the corp or form a new corp within 24 hours.

You can only suicide gank them once on a character, and from that moment on, every time you enter the system they are mining in, they will instantly log off every character in the system, within a second, faster than humanly possible. They only started doing this after being constantly ganked, they must have lost close to 100 mackinkaws in 7 days. They obviously set their bot to logoff all characters in the system if someone who has ganked them appears in local.

Get the residents in their systems to gank them at least once, eventually they'll run out of places to log in to lol

Hopping corps to avoid wardecs is not allowed. Get em to do it and then petition them for that aswell. Also keep spamming petitions. Eventually you'll annoy some GM to the point where he actually does something about it.

Corp hopping to avoid wardecs is perfectly valid. Petitioning about people hopping corps to avoid a wardec will just waste GM time.

Before you suggest that I am a bot sympathiser, you may want to review Mitnal's words on the matter.

Topics like this confuse me.
Whiles i understand cheating is wrong, i don't understand how botting is wrong and whom it hurts? If that's someone play style then whats the biggy? its like moaning at pvpers for shooting you.

i can't see how it griefs me or how it changes my game experience. infact only thing i can think of is ore prices would sky rocket and most of the big corps would find them selfs in a big drought of raw mats.

then again if your game style is going about reporting botters then who am i to judge.

Mining bots hurt other players by making mining income worthless. Ratting bots generate disproportionate incomes which allow the bot owners to lose many more ships than their opponents. This can be an issue where wars against superior skilled pilots can be won by attrition.

If by "skyrocket" you mean "rise about 20%" then sure, ore prices will "skyrocket". By going up a little, the income from mining will become more attractive to legitimate players. If income from mining was to reach 10M ISK/hr, you would find a surprisingly large number of pilots dusting off their Hulk fleets and hitting the belts.

Ore prices have a long way to rise before they reach the heady heights of the insurance fraud era.

It's about status Quo.
A Macro can make 100 mill a day, do that for 2 months and you just bought 2 years of free EVE. In addition CCP seem to be catering to this group of people and nerfing EVE according to what the macro fleets can produce in the game. Someone who plays 12 to 15 hrs a week is no longer even a blip in EVE when the game becomes a "who has 10 trillion ISK" game.

Seriously, when will you people get a clue.
No one can stop it, least of all CCP. If they put too many restrictions on the game, to filter out bots, they will filter out a bunch of real players as well.

You really need to grow up and deal with it. Kill them yourself, create a corp just for hunting them, you won't make a dent, but hopefully it will fulfill your need for vengence on the terrible bots....Cool

Yet other players were banned for doing it. As a matter of fact it seems to be an arbitrary GM decision at the moment. All the more reason to do exactly as I said. Two birds one stone. Keep deccing em, keep killing em, keep spamming petitions until GMs drown in enough tickets to justify escalation of these topics to higher authorities.

You crack service desks by applying brute force, not by playing the Carlineseque happy-consumer.

If anything, that thread indicates that GMs don't have a standard procedure for dealing with these cases.

This, tbh.

I guess, for some, that it is more important to 'make a name for themselves' on the forums, to whinge about CCP not acting fast enough for them, and to, in turn, wait for the nanny state of CCP to handle their business.

Still suggesting players limit themselves to a PROVEN ineffective anti-Bot method???

It only annoys them (which, I'll admit, is actually a very good thing), but does not really hurt them like losing accounts LONG before the account pays for itself would.

I'll grant you that losing accounts "LONG" before they pay for themselves 'would', but, once again, there is NO verifiable proof that this is happening.

However, you miss the point - I think because you want to and prefer to attack the messenger. Not once did I suggest that players "limit themselves" in any way. I agreed with another poster that suggested taking action instead of waiting. That I quoted that poster, and that you included same in your quote of me, shows that your intent here is simply to attack me.

Actually, what I've noted, is that you belittle ANYTHING other than players hunting botting with only existing tools.
