Other than being a Moira. shareholder and monitoring their combat performance, I have no interest in a situation that amounts nothing more to the pointless attention seeking beating of a war drum. The rest of our corporation also share the same opinion.

In terms of profitability, Moira are currently operating in the black, this pleases me :

Now, that's interesting. Gives us FDU tactical commanders an excuse to keep Soter out of our operations should he decide to leverage himself into authority again.

Oh no, the pirates are bad! The pirates are bad!

When you wake up and smell the coffee, maybe you'll realise that those on the other side of the law can be useful to have as contacts.

We can go places your politics restrict you from being, and speak with those your regime denies you access to.

Like I've said before, keep living in your perfect little Federal bubble with your blinders on to the world, Inhonores. You're better off there, there's less chance of you infecting the rest of the cluster with your inane stupidity.

What? And you don't live in your little Guristas bubble, with your blinders on that makes you see everything Federation-related as corrupt, even without a single fact to back it up? Here's a fun piece of trivia for you; relative to other empires, the Federal government is the most stable and has the lowest level of corruption in the cluster. What do you think our glorious secret police are for? Of course, corporate lobbyist influence is something else that has a disproportionate effect on the democratic process. But they don't measure it as corruption, do they?

Seriously, you need to learn that there's something called "perspective". You are always going to think that we "loyalists" are "blind" when, really, we're just as big cynics and realists. How are you supposed to defend something to one's maximum ability without possessing maximum knowledge?

In that example, I provided a greater knowledge of the downsides of the Federal system than you have ever done. All you say is "It's corrupt!" without saying why.

Mr. Verone,

As I said earlier, and since you're a Moira. shareholder you may want to look into this, there is a very large difference between what Star Fraction is recording and what Moira. is recording. The Star Fraction is recording 23 kills and 9 losses (24 and 9 counting the CVA Pilgrim flown by Dewgong) as their currents stats in this war. While Moira. is recording (currently) 9 kills and 13 losses. That's a 10 ship difference.

Makes me wonder ... is one side padding their killboard? Or is one side not reporting losses?

As a betting man, with a large amount of Isk riding on the outcome of this war, the disparity in recorded kill between the two bothers me.

What's your opinion here, sir?

Regards,

Cix

The notion that Moira. has some form of alliance with CVA (or Rote Kapelle) is purely a Star Fraction fabrication.

Dewgong acted of his own accord, I neither condemn his behaviour nor disagree with his recommendations for Jade Constantine's well-being that he expressed in local.

As for the matter of kill records, regardless of which source you choose to believe, as Verone said, "Moira are currently operating in the black".

Fate save me if I ever get the idea to work with you Seriphyn.

To be entirely honest, I believe Andreus Ixiris, who had a mental breakdown and left Moira more than a year ago, sold his shares to Verone's organization for an undisclosed sum. Moira gave no consent to this transaction. While of course Ethan and I have mutual professional respect, there is no operational connection between our organizations.

Unconcerned with statistics.

Who is holding the field, and who is imposing their will upon the other?

I'm also curious at the lack of ideological statements emanating from the usual suspects.

Shouldn't horns be blowing by now, and angels descending from Anarchist Heaven, decreeing the brilliant plans and motives of our intelectual and moral superiors in the Free Captains?

Ah, the King-As-State delusion, that because I have certain feelings about you, I have the same feelings about your corporation. You are not Moira, Soter, and as much as she might like to think so, Jade Constantine isn't quite Star Fraction (although she's much closer to it, which isn't a good thing). Besides, are you saying I shouldn't shoot pirates?

Gentlemen,

If you want to stick knives in each other that's fine, but I could really care less about the little gay lover's quarrel you two are displaying. Why don't you two just get a room and kiss and make up and be done with it?

My concern here, and the reason I posted some questions, is that I have multiple wagers and a large amount of Isk riding on this war and it seems that Soter's horse has stumbled just after clearing the gate. I don't want to lose my wagers, but if Soter and Moira. aren't going to post all their losses then I'm going to declare the bets null and void so I don't lose my Isk when Soter loses this war.

I see, Soter, that you talk a good game, Gal-Net links and after action reports, etc. etc.,, but when push comes to shove anyone that won't post losses and won't undock in his alleged headquarters system, but claims to be winning a war, has no integrity. It seems you got a couple of early quick kills, and you proudly spout off about them, but now that the chips are down and Moira. is hemorrhaging ships and pods you won't be honest about them.

Either man up, or stand down.

Mr. Ilfort,

I never mentioned Rote Kapelle, and it's true that Mr. Dewgong may have acted of his own accord, but he made several threats in Pelille local, to the effect that he would be back, with CVA fleets, to assist your corporation in their war with The Star Fraction. As to what Star Fraction may or may not have fabricated ... I haven't a clue, I'm just going on what I witnessed. Hence my question.

If CVA shows up and Moira. manages to B&C onto some SF kills in order to pad their kill-stats, will Moira. also be adding the CVA ship losses to those same stats? After all, fair is fair. And, if there are some SF ships killed will Moira. be finally updating their kill-stats to reflect the ships and pods that are missing from those records? And, if there are no missing ship/pod losses will you openly dispute the kill-stats that The Star Fraction has been listing? Which, by the way, doesn't put Moira. in a very positive light.

Mr 'Cix',

The fact that you have Isk riding on an outcome of a war you're not involved in is not our problem. We are under no duty to keep you informed of every move we make.

This isn't an organised boxing match for the enjoyment of the public.

This is a move from a once powerful alliance, bringing their full force against a relatively small and new corporation which they thought would be a complete push-over.

We have nothing to prove. We have no need to fight against their capital fleet and pirate battleship class vessels.

So, to those that have wagers riding on the 'outcome' (all though, as some one previously stated, SF have made no demands or victory conditions), I say undock, and go find your own fights to entertain yourselves.

Also, I take your intimate knowledge of the on going situation in Placid, lack of combat record for the last 1.5 years and insistence on information about our (non) allies, to mean that you're simple a mouth-piece of the SF.

+++ Minor comment. I would point out to anyone "confused" by Star Fraction actions you have the recourse of contacting our diplomatic staff and asking honest questions directly to clarifiy any misunderstandings. This is not a complex or bewildering situation and I'd invite anyone genuinely "in the dark" to take appropriate steps to educate themselves.

Mr. Aesis,

Your CEO initiated this communication in a manner to inform the general public of the war. He also linked his/Moira.'s private Gal-Net reports for all to read. You don't get to try and stuff the cat back in the box once you let it out. I say it is my business because Mr. Soter made it everyone's business.

As to my intimate knowledge of what's going on ... I have a vested interest in the outcome of this war and I do my research, plus I was in Pelille when when some of this happened and read local coms. As to my lack of combat record ... well let's just say I figured out industry and gambling is more profitable than making war. Although I am beginning to regret placing wagers on Moira. to win.

Cordially,

Cix

+++A brief update here.

While this war is not considered a major operation or campaign of ideological importance to the Star Fraction in itself (hence lack of publication and "diaries" and such.) it does serve a useful purpose by ensuring our pilots are free of unwelcome interference in their routine operations against pirates and various -10 hostiles in the Placid Region in the larger context of our deployment.

Further to this (and to end confusion) I will say at this point that our full motivation for the formal wardec was simply to ensure that Moira Corporation pilots would be denied the opportunity to harass and sabotage Fraction engagements with 3rd parties through attempted “bait” aggressions inflicting gate gun fire and sec loss on our pilots in Ostingele and surrounding systems.

Thus our motive and “win conditions” in these circumstances can most usefully be summarized as:

“Dissuade enemy -10 hostiles from interfering with our main engagements by making them ancillary free-fire targets in the warzone.”

We are currently achieving this objective more or less continuously.

I imagine it is evident that matters of K/D ratio and isk-exchange are largely immaterial to this conflict since Star Fraction is an older and better-equipped organization than Moira. And I don’t believe anyone truly expected a different result in space than the one we have witnessed over the past two weeks.

So at at this time I can report that Free Captains have established a dominant presence in the Moira “HQ system” of Pelille including the construction of a fully-armed combat-drug manufacturing tower within a few hundred thousand kilometres of the primary Moira Station while main Fraction fleet assets are prepared and ready for combat in close vicinity.

Our routine anti-enclosurist fleet patrols continue in the region with incidents of attempted Moira intervention diminishing to virtually nothing in this past week. We have been quite successful in the primary business of our deployment and are now overcoming the early setbacks in the “Welcome to Osten-Hell!” campaign and returned to positive performance there this past weekend also.

For those galnet pundits “betting” on the results of this war the most likely metric would be reached through contemplation of the Moira CEO’s words at the inception of this thread.

“Moira. Corporation is investigating offensive operations to deal with Star Fraction's operations in the Placid Region. Their destabilizing activities, while once a minor annoyance to the region's inhabitants, can no longer be tolerated.” -Julianus Soter

I am pleased to report that while the Fraction’s activities and active engagement against piratical/enclosurist entities in the area have increased significantly over the duration of the war so far ... it is equally clear that Moira’s own operations have sharply diminished for various reasons which I do not think it unreasonable to conclude have something to do with the state of hostility between our respective organizations. Neither have we witnessed any kind of offensive operation launched by Moira aimed at reducing either our influence or presence or presenting any kind of organized military threat.

Full coverage of the statistics and engagements are as always correctly reported on the Star Fraction public combat database, where at the time of writing the Fraction has marginally edged in front of Moira in terms of raw isk damage while inflicting more than 3x the number of ship casualties and executing a significant number of enemy capsules in combat encounters.

War continues at this point, though we are (as always) open to diplomatic resolutions should opponents wish to re-assess the wisdom of decisions and consider the impact of chosen engagement stratagems on their organizational health.

@ Silas, we believe Soter has been ordered to silence by his new allies so I think we'd better take over the narrative at this point.

+++ Additional Conflict Update (war-widening to include Veto and Rote Kapelle in a military babysitting role to Moira.)

Further to the last update there have been developments. As noted previously Moira Corporation military confidence had slumped to a low ebb with few instances of undocking let alone transit in organized patrols in the conflict zone. Star Fraction fast attack fleets were beginning to head deeper into Gallente hisec in search of wayward Moira pilots and the time had come to press matters in lowsec with an assault on the Moira HQ tower at Planet 6 Moon 8 in Pelille.

The Moira HQ is a Gallente Class Control Tower codenamed “Argos” featuring extensive Matari Artillery batteries, Jamming arrays, and Pulse laser emplacements in a traditional “deathstar” configuration representing a hardened target where an unwary foe will be literally cut to pieces and blinded by hostile automated e-war.

In the lack of any Moira resistance or opposition in open space SF pilots began the assault on Argos tower to force the enemy’s hand and show us if the opening boasts in this thread had substance.

Little initially it turned out.

The first assault knocked around two thirds of defensive equipment into incapacitated status without direct loss of SF ships to the Moira emplacements. Then unfortunately we miscalculated our vulnerability to hot-drops in the area and lost five battleships to a Rooks and Kings Machariel and Archon based surprise attack.

This set us back for a couple of hours assessing and replacing the ships and had the additional impact of padding the Moira kill database and making their small laser batteries their alliance “top killers” for the week.

We took some satisfaction in return by executing a Moira transport ship that dared to attempt a looting of our wrecks in the wake of Rooks departure gifting us a mini piñata and dung-beetle kill.

Still as noted in the previous update – traditional exchange of k/d ratio by isk is largely irrelevant in this conflict and of value primarily (we imagine) to Moira leadership’s attempts to invigorate their own flagging morale in space – but with the kills against us now massively weighted against Moira participation it’s unlikely their pilots are finding much if any financial benefit.

After the pause we completed the total incapacitation of weapon emplacements at the Argos tower without further loss or counter-action from Moira pilots.

Then we made our second miscalculation of the evening. We had been seeing scouts from Veto and Rote Kapelle alliances throughout the night and while their leadership had previously denied any intention to support Moira in this war (including Verone's own words in this thread) we had our doubts.

So perhaps our enthusiastic plan to move on from incapacitating modules to a direct assault on the Moira HQ while noting a significant number of mobile Veto/Kapelle assets a system or two away was not the wisest plan in our playbook.

Still, one does not become a Free Captain to jump at shadows and we moved on with the task at hand until such point as the inevitable trap was sprung and the Veto/Kapelle fleet moved in-system to assist cloaked assets and help a couple of newly arrived Moira pilots to make an impressive kill of a Fraction strategic cruiser that had strayed too close to “Argos” defence fields.

- continued over the page.
