Edited by: Nemesis Factor on 29/04/2011 03:15:51 I just took the Vivox survey and I had an idea when I got to the question 'how valuable would the ability to dial into a voice channel from a standard phone be?'
First of all, terrible idea. I'm not going to waste my minutes or get billed for a ton because I want to listen to one side of a fight in voice. But it got me thinking:
Perhaps CCP should put one or two guys on making a mobile app for Damn Near Anything Eve related (or DNA for short). This app would work for Android and iOS and would feature Eve Gate access as well as access to anything the Eve API offers. Skills, attributes, wallet, transactions, mail, corp forums, and most importantly Eve voice. Hell, I would keep that on in the car on my commutes. I have only dabbled in mobile apps, but I don't think it would take a whole lot of man-power to get something like this out on the market. Maybe two weeks to get something without a whole bunch of flash on one platform. Of course supporting it might take a bit. Test the waters with Android to start, you don't even have to put it on the market.
PS, I know and use Aura, but I think an Eve-Gate app would be so much more useful, ESPECIALLY if it supported Voice. |

I won't argue that P7 isn't a nice phone, but it's probably hard enough to convince them to support Android, let alone every smartphone out there. |
