Instead of nerfing ****, why dont we just boost the other ships? Each expantion boost a set of ships and let all hell break loose.
be kinda cool :) |

Fine...
This game is based on realistic situations, so to help the game be more realistic, why don't we have ship boosts for each expansions. This would be more in line with the technological advances we would be making (theoretical)
Or we can change how this works by making upgradeable original blueprints. The ships would be built more advanced like V 2.0 than a ship built using the V 0.01 this would make powerful alliances more powerful, but isnt that what this is about? Making the powerful strong and the weak work together?
Just a very basic concept, obviously needs working on, but I do like the ideas
Also, I would proudly fight against a more powerful ship and die happy if it came down to that |

We would need a name for such an upgrade. How about... "invention?" |

I think for some cost you should be able to add a slot or 2 to a ship or switch them around a little. |

Oh yes, there's no way THAT could ever have an unpredictable impact on balance. |

T1 ships will not be built from minerals but from components. These components are going to be built from minerals.
Use similar mechanic on the components to invention to "invent" Named components which are slightly better. Use a combination of named components to construct names T1 ships.
Different combination give slight improvements to the T1 Hull you can market through contracts as XY corps branded t1 ships. so you can get a Gank speed Tank or Cap tuned designs customized to customer wishes. |

I've seen a rig that added 3 midslots to one of the dev flown frigates(enigma iirc) - it was basically an 8/8/8/ frig with some dev shield extenders(50k hp each?) - 4 doomsdays and the hp of a small moon. And I was gonna say - well they're devs - they can get away with that, but then I noticed the 50 or so warp scrambling drones they had packed in it's drone bay and that pushed it from okay to over the edge and unbalanced ...damn devs- so unfair |

I think that the more frequently any modules, ships, ammo are used across the universe, the less powerful they should become. Everyone flying a drake and using scourge heavy? It automatically gets a -20% bonus. Explain it by poor manufacturing due to high demand or something.
Then the Eagle would be a monster! |

If you mean boosting ships like the Prophecy to be comparable to the Harbinger, or the Ferox to be comparable to the Drake, then I agree. It sucks that some of the tier 1 battlecruisers never get used. |
