A year or so this guy told me everything in EVE happens to make industry pilots richer. After more than a year I think Darth Black was on to something.

Who are the industry toons behind NC Goons and PL?

Would the megablobs dissolve without an industry base?

How could anyone even find out?

Nah, those are the the ones patchday traders usually dump their stuff on so they don't need to do too much of the work themselves Laughing

Yes - Large scale ship pew pew and the resulting infrastructure needed to protect your space requires things to be built and produced through... INDUSTRY.

Those who build things for a profit will always make more than those who destroy for it and risk their own assets in the process. These people are called industrialists, I don't know why this is a hard concept to understand

Its the same in Real Life and in every virtual one. And until you can find a way or mechanics that produces more ships by blowing them up as opposed to mining and building for them - this is the way it will be.

How dare you turn a troll thread into a serious discussion.

Jon Cryers career is rolling over in its grave right now.

In 0.0 who needs industrialists when I can send a fleet of jump freighters to an empire market hub to buy everything we need? Let all the hisec carebears build everything. Meanwhile my JF fleet will supply the empire pubbies with their precious moon poop at massively inflated costs that they are all too happy to pay. After filling my fleet, undock and cyno right to the edge of my jump bridge network and then supply the local outpost with everything my alliance needs. (At +50% profits right to my pocket of course.)

Oh, and your little wardec against my alliance, makes no nevermind to me as I will just move all my JF pilots over to an empire holding corp who is blue to the alliance.

Industry in 0.0 is only for making supers. Anything else and it can be done cheaper, faster, better in empire. ugh

Naive, traders make ISK at both ends, from the cheap minerals and ice of the mining bots and selling stuff bought with illicit ISK.

The miners are the real rulers of EVE. For a very little investment they sell thier ore for a big profit. They are also the most bored players.

It's amazing how many people actually believe this failure of economics thinking.

i've invested at least 200 mil in isk in my hulk, plus about three months of training up to the hulk plus t2 lasers plus t2 crystals plus t2 mining drones plus t2 MLU plus hours spent working on my alliance's rorqual which we built ourselves. i get a good deal of isk from mining and watching tv while ploting with my corpies on how to take over the universe and playing pokemon and doing homework and doing forums.

mining is not boring, it is the gateway to ultimate multitasking.

Looking at the numbers from the QEN it is clear that the average wallet size is constantly going up. So yes - numerical wealth is a design goal. How that ISK is spent is an entirely different question.

I do not think anyone has a complete overview - besides CCP who have database access.
Many alliances require you to surrender your limited API key. With that one could, in theory, map who controlled what characters and if they had trade/production skills or not. Of course people could just hide their true wealth on other accounts.

No. Blobs are caused by the well known "there is a fight and everyone wants to go"-syndrome. The ship choices might differ, but nodes would still blow up.

If you could lean and map the way an organisation functions, you could do greater harm. In reality however, it is easy to re-structure on the fly if attacked in such a way.
