Hey all,

I'm gonna be running a bunch of L3s for an Amarr corp, to boost my standings up for the L4s. As this is EVE, and I can re-sell everything that I buy for appx what I bought it for, ISK really isn't too much of a concern. My eventual plan is to use a NavyPoc for the L4s. I know it's not the most efficient and all, but I love the way it looks. It's performance isn't too much of a worry. After I finish AWU5 and BS 5 I'll switch to a Paladin.

Anyway, for the L3s, I can fly pretty damn close to any ship in the game. All HACs/RECONs/T3/CommandShips, literally any ship in the game suitable for L3s.

My first two thoughts were either getting an Absolution, or a Sleipnir. Both have good dps, and tanks. There's also the Tengu, but I figured that the bonused EM damage of the Abso and the Sleip outweighs the un-bonused EM damage of the HMLs. Not to mention my gunnery skills far surpass my missile skills.

With my skills, the tanks on the 2 ships are about the same, the Sleip does more DPS, but the Abso uses heatsinks, which I can just apply to my Naypoc/Paladin. I'd have to sell the RFGryos, and buy INHS. Not really much of an issue, but I'm just that lazy Laughing. My armor/shield skills are the same, laser/projectile skills are the same.

Hell, I guess I could consider a Legion/Loki as well.

Any suggestions from the community?

HM Nighthawk
+ Auto Targeting System
+ FF-Missiles ;)

Cerb, Gila, Drake, Domi, etc. would also be an option.

Yet I like the fact that the Nighthawk provides the afk-potential required for any standing grind, without being a to attractive gank target (vs. Tengu) or being a whee flimsly (vs. Cerb) or having a weaponsystem that needs babysitting (everything Drone).

Zealot, the bigger range/speed out wights the extra DPS of the commands for L3 most of the time for blitzing. Legion is also good for it.

A while ago I was grinding standings for R&D and I did L3s with a Zealot. It can blitz through missions very fast.

I'm always 'impressed' by people who have a ****load of skills (quote 'i can fly pretty damn close to any ship in the game') but still doesnt have a clue about what to fly a lvl 3 mission with lol.

Notice that I actually suggested several viable options myself, and asked the community what they thought was better. It's been almost two years since I've run L3s, and I've never run missions in Amarr space. Even then, my only experience in L3s is limited to a overtanked Drake in Caldari space. Believe it or not, some of us haven't actually done everything there is to do in this game.

For those that were helpful, thanks. I hadn't considered the Zealot because it's tank seemed too low to me... but I kinda forgot about blitzing. Which makes sense.

Harb will shred L3s....and they're cheap.

T2 guns
AB, cap rechargers
T2 rep, hardeners, heat sinks
drones

Kill stuff?

Just use the Navy Apoc.

MWD for those (rare) times you need to move.
Drones for any frigs/dessies that get too close.
Everything else pretty much insta-pops to mega beams. (Tachs are over-overkill.)

I think there's only 1 level 3 (in Amarr space at least) that doesn't let a BS in.

It'll take you longer to warp around than it will to finish the missions.

what Adacia said. a Harb will do just fine.. cheap and useful for saving cash so you can afford your level 4 running ship.

If you can fly command ships, why not use the absolution? ;)

I used a retribution for fast lvl 3's :)

I would go for a Maller for fun lvl 3's. Might not be fast en efficient, but you would be slightly challanged from time to time Smile

Otherwise any cruiser size hull can do lvl 3's.

If you running LvL3's to get standings for LvL4's you will be blitzing, FOF missiles have less dps that standards and if blitzing you want to pick your targets, so you probably not going to want to do this.
Get a HML drake, don't rig it if you going to sell it, fit a TP and MWD, they work in all missions now. Tengu works better though and can keep it for lvl4's and wh's.

Train social to 3 and connections to 3, will boost standings and get you there quicker.

I'd go the sleip. Would reccomend a Loki, but the sleip should be just as fast. Plus those T2 resists are attractive

You can sig/speed/range tank with the Zealot next to any kind of damage L3 missions can thrown at you. If you know how to fly it you will be fine with a rep and 1-2 EANMs.
