As a person recently giving up a manic career as miner to join the real world of missions, Ive never really paid attention to storyline agents and getting them or doing them. with that changed, I've come to realization that doing enough missions to be handed a storyline mission is not so easy.

first, I'm not the kind of person to have the time to grind away all day and night. sometimes it's 2 or 3 missions a day only. so how do I know where I stand getting offered one from my favourite agent? yeah, sure, I can open the transactions list and count, but, as I've been told there can be anywhere from 16 to 30 missions for the faction before one is offered. What I see happening is a sort of progress bar on the agent's name to show how close I am. an easy way that no matter how much or how little you mission, you'll see how close you are.

You get one every 16 missions. So do 15 missions(yes you will have to keep track) then go do the 16th near the storyline agent of your choice. It takes a tiny bit of work but is more than worth it.

its actually not every 16 missions, its every 16+ missions, so it could be upto 30 missions before you get offered the storyline

i like the idea though Bob, would certainly be helpful even for the player who grinds missions

i petitioned it because i wasnt offered one for 25 missions, the GM response was that its AT LEAST every 16 missions

this website (http://eve.grismar.net/wikka.php?wakka=StorylineMissions) says its 16+ missions.

Did you run missions of the same type for the same faction? I have run a thousand + level 4 missions. And never once have i failed to get a storyline after 16 missions. So this whole 16 + missions must only be for the unlucky few.

It's every 16 missions for the same faction.

If you run 15 missions for Amarr, then 15 for Minmatar, then 15 for Gallente, then 15 for Caldari, you'll get no storyline mission.

The moment you run your next mission for any of those factions, you'll get a storyline offer from the nearest storyline agent for the NPC corporation whose mission you just completed. Failing that, the nearest storyline agent of the faction.

Please don't mention the phrase "progress bar" ever again :P

It is every 16 missions per level
I am not sure if that is dependent on faction or not, but I don't think it is. So every 16 level 4 missions will get you a level 4 storyline.

Ignorance is bliss.

It is dependant on faction, so you need to do 16 missions for one faction and in one level bracket before you get one.

This is correct.

However, the idea of having a 'progress bar' listed in the standings section of the character sheet showing the amount of missions completed towards a storyline offer per agent level for each Faction would make it much easier to keep track.
