Currently when you want to jump to another clone you have to pause your skill tree and then re-apply it once you get to your destination.

I'd assume that this is for simplicity when it comes to the DBMS towards skill learning and the varied attributes of different clones. In short, it pauses it to make sure when you 're-start' it recognises you're in a different clone.

The issue I want to bring to the table is that while re-starting the skill tree isn't a hard task, sometimes due to the nature of jump clone tactics it is forgotten. If you do not re-start the skill tree then it only realistically pops up as an issue when you log off and back in again. The time frame between logging off and back in again could be a very long time if you have commitments to meet in the real world.

Solution: Add a small script or inbuilt device into the Jump Clone system that automatically pauses your skill tree and then re-applies it once you have completed the jump clone. From my perspective this doesn't seem to be that hard as jump cloning should introduce a specific type of session change.

From studying programming at university I can't see it being that hard to put in a clause or some sort of script to run when the 'Jump' button is pressed. Whether or not you want to add the needed other requisites of jump cloning, such as getting out of a ship to this script is of no matter to me.

I only mension this as it is not the first time i've jump cloned to help a friend or corporation, quickly getting into a ship and going to where I am needed only to then get back to the station and log off after a long battle or even just because I was a 'bat phone' backup response. I don't log onto eve very often and therefore if the skill tree isn't re-started then I can lose a large portion of skill time which is what i'm paying for. As you are paying to play the game and the time you buy is the time you are able to convert to skill points i'm essentially paying for nothing during this period of time.

Atleast I believe there should be a prompt at the exit of your EvE client saying "You have free time in your skill tree" or "Your skill tree has yet to be re-started/implimented."

Again, as someone who studied various programming languages at university for 3 years it doesn't seem that hard to introduce a message box of some kind into the already intiated program. You already have message boxes for undocking with agro as an example of how seemingly easy it is to make one.

anytime you don't have an active skill in training your character sheet icon will be highlighted unless you specifically cancel it

TL;DR NOOB! hehehe! :p

At Fanfest they announced that soon "TM" you will no longer need to stop your skill in order to jump etc.

Also, show up on vent more often!

i'd actually like to pause between my main and an alt(s) so when i need to quickly train up a lvl1 upgrade or finish a small skill on an alt to keep him equipped properly i can switch without relogging and then i can unpause my main when i go to sleep

Wow, they sure are concentrating on fixing the real issues in Eve!
/end_sarcasm

Seriously, Pause - Jimp - StartSkill....
Not hard or much of an issue!
