Curious question for you planet aficionados out there... how are your extractors set up for raw extraction of P0 goods?

Currently, I have two extractors per planet (fully loaded with heads) routing their raw output through a launchpad, on to a storage facility, on to a second storage facility.

The goal here is that as the end-storage fills up, excess goods "cascade" into the nearer storage, and finally into the launchpad.

Interesting observations:

- Routing in this manner will cascade as intended into the storage facilities, but not into the launchpad
- Routing direct from the extractor to the launchpad will accumulate resources

Am I missing something here? Maybe put the launchpad as the last destination, and route through the storage facilities?

If there is no room at the endpoint of the route the products will not "backfill" into other locations along the way. They will simply be lost if the source location has no storage capability.

Typical flow plan:
ECU --> Launchpad --> Processor --> Launchpad

If I remember correctly you cannot route goods from storage to storage.

Try it ingame...

Only problem with this set-up is that you are assuming the goal is to go from P0 to P1, which effectively reduces the options to six P1 goods per character, rather than twelve different P0 goods per character for future processing.

About the "backfill"; if the end point is a storage, they do backfill into second-last endpoint:

Extractor -> Launchpad -> Storage -> Storage. If the route is set up to go from the ECU all the way to the end, both storage units will fill however the launchpad does not appear to do so.

Correct; expedited storage needs to be used. We're not talking about transfers but extraction source to storage.

You cannot rough from storage to storage correct.

That's... odd. It's not supposed to work like that from what others reported so far.
Are you SURE you're not doing something weird with some of the extractors to have some other storages filling ?
If you are correct and it does work like that, it could open up some interesting options.

You can fit 2 ECU's, 2 Launchpads, and some Processors on 1 planet. That would still let you obtain your 12 different goods. I accidentally assumed you were intending to process to P1 instead of exporting P0. Most people process on planet; it's cheaper and easier to haul the P1's.

You have successfully done this? I have never heard of it working, but have never tried it myself.

i usually set it up as Extractor (6+ heads)-> Storage -> Factory (amount adapting to how much you extract, i run with 2-3 factories)-> Launchpad

Yet i am new to PI so pardon me if this is ineffective, but yet again you are exporting raw good.
so my best guess would be to draw a line direct from your ECU to a launchpad (or two dependant on your extraction rate per day.)

i hope this helped.

Exporting p0 is a complete waste..
it's much more efficient to drop a couple of heads and add in BF's, you wont burn out [or though more cash] as fast

Go on... How many heads per processor are you running in this configuration? I guess I may have just blindly assumed that raw volume of P0 goods would accelerate production, but apparently not...

Thanks for the feedback everyone!

I believe I have, to some extent. I will double check later today.
