As much fun as being a "Carebear" is.... I want to get into pvp. I am an Amarr pilot, looking to be given a gentle push as to which ship/s I should be training towards. Any and all advice would be greatly appreciated.

Harbinger.

BC is a great skill to max, and scorch is win.

But to start with you might want to try an AC punisher or lose some insured omens.

Edit: Forgot the arbitrator, great ship, again with Amarr the t2 varients pwn.

And as an endgame pimped ride you can go Sansha (meh except megabucks Nightmare) or Blood Raider (badass but primary because of it).

The Armageddon is vastly underestimated as a solo boat. However, it suffers from that malignant tumor called... Battleshiposis.

So while it performs superbly, even outnumbered, you won't win often since you will invariably get blobbed.

Nanopests are a lot more involved, but can be a lot of fun.

Dominix is probably the only truly solo BS, and it doesn't need to be nanoed to survive it. But be prepared to use ACs on it.

All of the Battlecruisers are perfectly viable solo, with the exception of the Prophecy. It can't do enough damage to make the tank worth anything.

It all depends on what kind of pvp you're looking for and where. There's vast differences in tactics, ships, numbers etc so until then no one can really give you an answer.

Would you want to solo in low sec I'd try a punisher or arbitrator (if you have good droneskills). for small roams Arbi is still good but a Harb is also quite nice, depending on what the rest of the group flies ofcourse. In bigger 0.0 fleets it's either Zealots or BS's but in that case you're best off asking your main FC as to what he's looking for.

Ultimately, for solo at least, you'll be looking at a Curse but again it all depends on where and what you fight.

Rifter all the way

Edit:Doesnt take long to cross train only a day or two for a good t1 rifter if you already got gun support skills and armor skills.

Wrong thread. How amazingly fail of me.

While I'm here, to try and offer something constructive: yes the Harbinger is awesome for Amarr, you may also want to consider the Arbitrator - it's an amazingly versatile cruiser.

If you're new to solo pvp start off in frigates. Punisher or Slicer are good starting ships to learn your skills before you move onto recons ie Curse/Pilgrim.
