Now that we can design an avatar that allows us to pretty much count the number of pores on our capsuleer's faces... would it be too much trouble to have combat misses, you know, miss the ship?

Like shells and missiles that actually go whizzing by the hull instead of exploding in grand fashion with a caption of "xxxx from yyyy misses you entirely"

Jus sayin...

Such feature compared to new faces will be useless for CCP's pet project World of Darkness so there is no need to waste development resources on it. Evil or Very Mad

I don't know about all that. If a Sabbat vampire shoots a rifle at a Camarilla vampire and misses, it would be better for realism if the shot whizzed by rather than 'hit' but had a bubble over the head of the Camarilla vampire saying that it missed. We don't notice in spaceship land because spaceships are so far away, but in World of Darkness land, it would be more noticeable and disconcerting.

i think they should just change it to state that the shot hit you, but it did no discernibly damage.

aka glancing shot

Confirming a shot to the dead center of your ship is considered "glancing" :D

there fixed it for ya :)

I mean misses happen if you ninja warp out in combat amirite? Is this just one of those things that, as a developer, is on your list, you intend to do it but since it seems rather trivial you just never prioritize it?

I guess I can only speak for myself but this little immersion detail of hits visibly hitting and misses visibly missing is far more appealing to me than the most advanced avatar designer could ever be.

well, you see... you have to hit a relatively unshielded 2 meter exhaust port....
