If you put a bit of time into sorting the market/combat mess on Sisi, you'd get many more manhours of regression testing from more people using it. Sort the market seeding (not just some faction ships, lack of faction ammo or cap boosters) and consider dedicating systems to ship classes for combat. Even if it's just beacons/rules rather than automatically enforced via killmails. |

"Ducie"? I doubt it. Knowing this community, it will be nicknamed "douche" Good addition though. |

Anything that helps bring staggered releases and regular performance boosts without waiting for big expansions gets my appreciation...

Edited by: Salyan on 15/03/2011 12:54:25 Um... I'm not so sure that this is going to work out too well.
It will mean that people will have to maintain yet another separate client version to run on this server, right? Not to mention that it will require the patches to be available well in advance in order to people to access it.
I think you are going to find that you will get a significant decrease in the number of testers willing to try out the events since they can't just fire up their usual singularity client to do so. The effort bar has been upped a bit. |

I have to agree with this. Unless it's a simple change of adding another icon to the desktop next to my singularity icon, with a change to the target path but pulling from the same files, then I don't really see you getting much involvement from the community. |

I am hoping we can just run this with our existing Sing patch environment with minimal changes. My suppliers are getting concerned when i DL several gigs a month just to test stuff. i dont like it when they strangle the pitiful pipe i get out in the sticks Also, this going to enable proper failover from Node to node? |

Good call, CCP.
However...
I reject your nickname and substitute my own.
Hence hereafter Duality shall ever be known as "DuDu". |

I share the same concern about the willingness of players of creating and maintaining yet another client. On top of that, I preferred to fit my ships for mass tests (a day or so) in advance since I don't want to waste my time on that during the test and because sometimes I won't have the time to do so right before the test. I'm not sure if this semi public approach will make me a regular useful participant. Not that I am a regular one now, but just saying. |

Multiplicity ("Multi") is a private large-scale multi-node test server that is used as the primary hotfix server for Tranquility ("TQ"). |

I already maintain two Tranquility installations and one SISI account.
Each account consumes >7GB of space.
Each one has to be updated when a new patch is released.
Keeping SISI updated can be challenge at times (1.3GB DLes released 3 hours before event time). I accept the fact that patches are released out of the blue, that is the nature of SISI.
What I really find frustrating is setting up a new set of ships in the test systems EVERY time a new image is ported over. doing this for SISI is a pain, but doing this for TWO test servers is just to much.
I like the idea, but it is a fail. You are are effectivly creating double the amount of work for us play testers in setting ships up and maintaing installations (this is what turns most players off).
I have enjoyed the incursions testing on SISI in the past, but I will not be doing any on Doucie. I do not have the time or the patience to maintain a second test account.
I predict that you will have a lower turn out than on SISI for events.

Someone here either only has 1 monitor or 2 'identical' monitors. This is the exception to the 'Upgraded monitor + my old one" rule that governs the reason multi-head displays became popular amongst enthusiasts. |

Hardlink the secondary install to the primary install, e.g., using the Junction tool from Sysinternals. That saves space but the EVE client sees two different folders and therefore keeps two sets of settings. |
