Description:
The latest-generation of Anti-Cloaking technology stolen from a Amarian research center during a massive raid by allied pirate factions. The boosted sensor output and volume based targeting fields allow one not only to survey an entire solar system for potential hostiles but will allow their detection even if they are cloaked. While it takes considerably longer to survey with, these probes still deliver the full spectrum of results including ships, structures, drones and exploration data.

Basis:
To stop those pesky no-space holding neutrals from camping in your home system and cynoing in armies to pick off your newbies one by one all the while 100% safe with their cloaks 200km off gate.

(assuming in good faith that you are not trolling)

Please, no more threads about AFK cloaking, it has all been said already.

I would agree with anti-cloaking probe launched from a destroyer operating like an interdiction sphere but not effecting warps only disabling cloaks for 30 seconds with a 20km bubble radius

if the united ever left rancer, i'm sure they would learn that covert cynos work even with cyno jammers up.

that being said, i'm against the OPs idea.

Yes because easier gatecamps is exactly what we need.

i don't know if it was that way before his edit, but this is not an anticloaky bubble idea

this is an anticloaky SCANNING PROBE idea.

i like it. it lets you get on grid so you can try to decloak with conventional AOE weapons.

support for the idea, so long as the probes have an inexact lockdown, as in they put you within 20km of the cloaker. an afk cloaker will be pwned because he's afk. an active cloaker will be watching dscan and see the anticloaky probes, and then he will cycle safespots. genius idea to kill afks, while legit intel gatherers can continue relativcely unhindered. i nominate you for idea of the month Akuma.

read the op before you flame please.

I'm sure if Awesome Possums could read, they would notice neither I or the OP ever mentions covert cynos.

That being said, I'm not against Possums reading.

Did do know, stealth bombers get that cloak, the special one, 0% penalty to speed?
well, a manticore with low skills will move about 300m/s +.

A BOs gets another really cool bonus: 125% bonus to velocity while cloaked. a widow with improved cloak will move faster cloaked then when visible.

okay, so thats the bonuses, let's put some tactics into play.

B/Os or SB moves into stupid, carebear system, cloaks up, do you think he's gonna be sat dead still? just sat at 0m/s, in one spot? with a ship worth nearly 1 bill or more? NOOO. why? incase someone just by chance lands on him, poof, uncloaks him, shouts in local 'ZOMG, I R HAZ CLAOKEN SHIPZ!!!111one!', then the spensive ship goes pop.

He's is gonna warp to safe spot, warp to some other safe spot, en route to that he's gonna book another safe, then when he lands in the safe he just made, he's going to turn the screen in a random direction and double click, so now we have a ship that can, cloak, laugh, and move at over 300m/s, so even if this idea gets live, you will never catch him as you will land at 0 of his last know position about 10 seconds after you got him, hes going to already be 3k away from that location, and moving away.

most afk cloakers that i've managed to identify a ship on were t1 frigates with the crapiest version of the cloak on them. i'm expecting that the ones i didnt catch were similarly configured. if someone paid more than a million for that fit, they got cheated.

who afkcloaks in a blackops? that makes no sense to me.

this will catch the incompetent and the unaware, not anyone who's paying attention. the idea is still nominated idea of the month.

and DERP DERP DERP, really? how old are we?

allow me to restate myself: MOST afk cloakers i said. i did see one hound that had covops, and once a falcon. almost immidiatly after, a cyno opened and they dropped a carrier which promptly logged off. left the alliance before anything came of it. so yes, all the afk cloakers were using crap ships and the ones who had covops were there to actually take us over.

the overwhelming majority (22/24) were t1 frigates that couldnt fit that cloak. yes, i kept track of what went on in that system very closely. it was a deadend heavy industry system that the alliance shunted all the newbie corps into, which made it a favorite target of afk cloakers.

edit: fixed text block

Dan, in order to covops bridge you need to have the blackops in the system with the people you want to drop, and then you activate the cyno in the target system. then the black ops locks onto the cyno using a mechanic i don't fully understand, then all the covops ships with the blackops rightclick it and pick, jump. if they want to use the ship to leave the field of combat, then they leave a cynoship in the system of origin and light it when they want to leave.

anyone who camps a system in a blackops hoping to hotdrop covops on people is ignorant of the way the cyno system works.

also, having more than five bombs deployed does nothing but destroy everything but the first five bombs to detonate. therefore, the only reason you'd have twenty sb dropped on a target would be to use them as torpedoe boats. they are too fragile to do this job on anything but the least defended targets.

also, 'DERP DERP DERP' was a much better expression of your maturity than 'your mum' you must be slipping

apologizing for my saying that twenty sb torp boats would not be effective, the three vids showed that i hadn't considered that most fleets suck at killing frigates.

seriously, how did they manage to pull that off? did the targets have no tacklefrigates that could kill some of the sb's and no logi? or was there a falcon i didnt see making those things useless?
