So.. i got a Tengu, and want a quick zoom zoom ship for my Amarr char.
I use a Zealot as suport now, but its made of paper.
And i was looking on the Legion with pulses, wich seems alright !
Is the legion the fastest, and most hard hitting pulse ship that amarr got ? ( SPEED IS A HUGE FACTOR )
And can substain a lvl 4 tank ?

I'm just assuming that your tengu is going to be the tank here?

I can't yet fly a legion, so I won't comment on that.

I've had a ton of luck using a dps fit Armageddon in missions. Assuming it's not gonna be the tank, youc an fit a ab/mwd and some t2 lare pulses w/ some heat sinks and just tear rats up. It's fast, it's hard hitting, and it looks like a giany willy...do you need anythingm more?

Not even close. They have battleships that literally pour out twice as much DPS.

Tanks 423 Blood Raiders, which is more than enough when combined with your sig radius. Deals out 650ish with MF, just over 520 with Scorch. Moves at around 640m/s. It's no Tengu though.

if you are mostly looking for speed then yea go with the legion. a battleship will do much nicer damage

this is the setup I have in my eft. the faction mods are mostly to taste/wallet. some things you can do from here I'd say the most obvious would be drop a tank slot or two for more heatsinks or a tracking enhancer, also switch the rigs up for a t2 burst areator for a bit more dps. going to be doing around 700m/s and with the small sig getting a lot of damage reduction.

for solo work gotta have the dual webs imo, but since you are working with a tengu as well don't really need em but someone has to kill the frigs in the end, but adding 2x TC for more range sounds nice, gets to 50km optimal with scorch! some frigs just get too close to hit well. most frigs get wtfbbq'd on approach with scorch though Twisted Evil

I am a huge fan of sub-caps and sub-bs wherever possible, but for LVL4s I use this, beats any cruiser dps and is great for missioning in Amarr space.

And I know you asked for legion and tengu, but IMHO, if you want most isk/hour, go with a BS. Navy geddon, CNR, Nightmare or a marauder of choice (I suggest Vargur/Paladin/Golem).

Also, a BIG and important suggestion: train core fitting/cap and tanking skills to 5!!

With proper hardener selection, it can tank everything as necessary, and even if the tank is about to break - it only means you forgot to fire your guns and melt the enemy BS.

The thing is this...
Ive been running lvl4 missions in about 3 years, using all kinds of battleships and crap.
And iam SOOOO TIRED of having a big fat slob just sitting there speawing out dps.
Now that ive got my hands on the Tengu, i saw a light !
It does missions just as fast as my CNR, but i have more fun doing them.
So iam on my way to geting the Legion for my alt just a few sub skills left to get to lvl 5.

SPEED IS FUN! Battelships just aint... its like dating a fat girl.
Sure she will be better in the long run, and she will try harder, love you more
and do everyhing for you better then anyone else.
But deep in ur mind you just wish you took the skinny girl instead.

Do a HAM Tengu and a HAM Legion. Maybe rig the Legion for additional range since the Tengu will be better at tanking anyways. You can also share missiles this way *cute*

While its no Tengu, you can hit out to 45-50KM with Scorch, or you can hit for +750 DPS with conflag on webbed BCs/BSes

What about a Machariel? not quite the fat girl and she love you long time...

alright you got me - it's not Amarr, but it is FOTM and who doesn't like FOTM?

Poor analogy for some people (like me!) Fat chicks rule. I hate skinny girls. :D

On topic, many of you along with other people in other threads have made me rethink my strategy on LVL4s. BS is boring. Effective, but insanely boring esp. when you need to approach something and you forgot to fit an ab or whatever. So I am really thinking of fitting a legion as well. If you say it's almost equally or even equally/more effective.. It's worth a shot.

No one said that. You just asked for something speedy. Any (reasonably fit) BS will absolutely dominate the Legion PvE wise. But if your end-goal in this game is having fun PVEing, as opposed to PvEing to fund your fun, by all means, use a Legion or whatever floats your boat.

The two HAC/T3 ships that can come close to matching BS performance in PvE are the Ishtar and the Tengu. Even then, it's not so much DPS as it is their tanking ability, allowing them to run high-end plexes easily.

I flew a HAM Legion with perma-run MWD while running sanctums. Small enough sig radius to avoid BS dps. After a while though... when it became clear that I really wasn't doing them to have fun, I was there to make isk, I turned to the Drake and later the tengu and just sat there and lobbed missiles.
