So I trade(and produce) this item atm, and I plan to crash the prices to around 100% of build cost and hopefully bump it back up to the current level.

Anyways, atm there kinda is to much competition so im not bothering with 0.1 isk wars. But I dont have to worry. Buy orders are insanely high(last weeks sell order high) and the buy orders range from 100% to 30% of the daily average items traded. But enough of that.

I fill a buy order(lets say for 400-600 items at 2mill) to stupid person X. Then I adjust one of my remaining sell orders or add a new sell order at a price which ****s up stupid person X's profit margin. Stupid person X then buys the order to make sure the price stay high. Repeat until stupid person X realize he is getting ass****d.

a) you better make sure you have more stock/isk than this guy has if your plan is to take him out, plus anyone else that trades the item
b) double check the cost for materials, if you plan to build more of this item then you might find the reason the price has gone up is due to build costs going up, and you selling at old values will mean you can't rebuild the same amount at the new level.

a) Atm hes/they are buying from me at 4x build cost. I hope "they" have an endless supply of isk :p
b) Material price has gone down. And there is no real correalation between the mat prices and item prices anyways. (obv not since build cust go down while price increase)

I wouldn't buy up items from other market hubs since that's an old way to motivate lazy traders to buy out stagnant orders. :) I would expect a total price collapse of the item after everyone buys out the excess inventory from other market hubs that would have taken months to sell with normal demand.

If the price is the same at all market hubs, it's likely someone buying up inventory. If there buy/sell orders aren't at the same level at all of the hubs, someone is motivating lazy traders to buy sitting inventory.

If you have buy orders for an easily produced item at close to 4x over build cost. Yes I am a genius compared to you. And I will pay you a visit assuming I can control the supply of given item.

And im obv not saying this can be done for every single item. You need a few suckers who dont understand the build cost vs sell price.

It's all about production and consumtpion volume...
For instance, I will pay 4* build cost for something if I dont want to dedicate the time and hassle to producing crap products.
I can currently manage something like 118 production slots, so take it frome me, sometimes the profit margin to other people really isnt enough to worry about all the emo crap that comes with producing some items.
