When it comes to the ESRB, there's a large difference between text saying something and graphics showing something. If people can get drunk and hop in their ship, the game might even get an AO rating, like the last Grand Theft Auto did for drunk driving. I picture juice bars and ball pits, just so they can take advantage of the lucrative 13-18 demographic. Junior High kids are some high rollers. |

If they're in pill form, perhaps. Society tends to see those as good thanks to the efforts of pharm corporations, even if they screw up and kill more people than anything else. Anything that's sniffed, inhaled, or injected, forget it. |

I don't know why CCP makes Eve as 12+ or T game. There aren't that many teens around and the average age is 25+ and definitely more than WoW. Since the game is already a niche game, CCP might as well make it a full blown adult game, 16+ or 18+ and open up Eve to any possibility in making it more fun for current and future players. |

In text, yes, they are used. When it comes to presenting that in a graphical form, which the player can partake in, the ESRB will have a few things to say. |

When folks insult Americans because of their response to the VT shooting, I tend to take it personally. And there have been games that have shown drugs taken in pill or by injection that have not been rated AO or mature. It's not set in stone. |
